Important CGBSE 12th Preparation Tips for Mathematics
Maths is a scoring subject, therefore, understanding of concepts is essential to secure a high score in board exams. The following tips must be followed by students to score well in CGBSE 12th exam Maths.
- Start early: The preparation and practicing of concepts of Maths should be initiated from the beginning of the year. The students should cover all types of questions to ensure that the major portion of the syllabus is covered. Revise the portions after completing every chapter.
- Take help: In Maths, once the concepts are understood, it is easy to solve the questions. In case a student gets stuck while solving a particular problem, do not hesitate to take help from seniors, teachers, or friends. This will help in saving time and understanding the concepts easily.
- Practice as much as possible: In a subject like Maths, it is always advised to practice every day with complete focus. The more questions students will solve, the better is the chance of getting a good score in the subject. Expertise and accuracy can be gained through regular practice only.
- Mock tests: Solve as many previous years’ question papers and model question papers of CGBSE as possible within a given time frame. Set a timer while taking a mock test and check the time taken for solving each question paper. Solving the entire question paper within the stipulated time frame will help in gaining confidence.
- Revision: Revision is probably the most vital part while preparing for the board exam. Keep revising the problems and concepts regularly. List down a few topics, important formulae, concepts, and a step-by-step approach in a separate notebook for quick revision.
- Solving the question paper: During the first 15 minutes of the exam, read and analyze the question paper. Solve the easy questions first. In case, a student is not sure of a particular answer then do not spend too much time on that question and move on to the next one. Always ensure that the questions are solved methodically.
- Avoid starting preparation at the last minute: Work hard on understanding the concepts and getting the basics right. The students need to practice and revise this subject regularly as last-minute preparations will not do any good. In Mathematics, marks are given for the correct steps adopted in finding the solution. Hence, make sure that there are no shortcut methods used for solving a particular question. Ensure that the rough work is done on one side of the answer sheet.
- All work and no play are not good: Take time out from studies for recreation or hobbies. Studying hard for board exams is vital, however, taking rest in between and participating in relaxation activities is equally important to avoid complete burnout, even before sitting for the exam.
- Attempt all the questions: In Mathematics, students need to attempt all the questions as marks are given for correct steps. Therefore, students will be able to fetch some marks for a question even if the answer is incorrect.
- Maintain speed during the exam: The students should focus on maintaining speed and accuracy during the exam. Time management is the key to completing the paper on time and revise the answers.
