West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced that the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education will conduct the Class 12 board exams in June, in wake of coronavirus outbreak.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced that the state Board's Higher Secondary Examination will be conducted in June. She also announced that the Class 11 and college students will be promoted to the next class and semesters respectively.
The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) Class X board exams, also known as Madhyamik Pariksha, was concluded on February 27. The evaluation work for WBBSE Class 10 board exam sheets are under process right now.
Earlier, the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) had postponed the WBCHSE Class 12th board exams until April 15 as a precautionary measure in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
During a press meet in March third week, Education Minister Partha Chatterjee had said that in view of the prevailing situation, the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has been asked to postpone the examinations which are yet to be held, until April 15. The West Bengal Class 12 examinations which were scheduled to be held on March 23, March 25 and March 27 postponed then.
The minister had said then the higher education department will take the decision about conducting the examinations after reviewing the situation as per the advisory of the health department.
The WBCHSE Class 12 board examinations were scheduled to be held from March 12 to March 27.
Earlier this week, the Chief Minister had also announced that all the schools, colleges, and educational institutions in the state will remain closed until June 10, in wake of coronavirus outbreak.
