COVID-19: Bihar Board suspends matric exam evaluation

With coronavirus pandemic continuing its grip on India. the Bihar School Education Board has suspended evaluation process for class 10th examination papers until March 31. 

The Bihar School Education Board (BSEB) has cancelled the class 10^th evaluation process until March 31 amid ongoing coronavirus outbreak. The board has said that the evaluation process will remain suspended until further notice and examiners will be informed accordingly.

As per the sources, the evaluation process for intermediate examination answer sheets has been completed and for Class 10th almost 50% of answer sheets have been evaluated. However, the board has still not made any announcement about the result declaration. Last year, the board had declared the intermediate results in March end and matric results in April first week. 

The BSEB 2020 class 12th exam concluded on February 13, The board has already released the answer key of the same for the objective portion. 

The BSEB 2020 class 10th exam concluded on February 24. For matric students as well the board had released the answer key for the objective portion too.

Many boards across the country have cancelled the post-examination process of the matric and intermediate examination papers, to prevent the spread of novel coronavirus. 

Bihar government had earlier asked all bus services, malls, restaurants, and banquets halls to be closed across the state until March 31.

The government of India has placed more than 80 cities and districts under stringent lockdown after rising in number of cases of coronavirus. A total number of positive coronavirus cases today reached 415 after 30 fresh cases were reported. 

A 38-year-old man from Bihar, who had a history of travelling to Qatar, died because of coronavirus on Sunday. This is the first death reported from Bihar.
