The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education has directed all schools to put all post-examination work on hold until further notice.
With rising coronavirus cases on a daily basis in the country, the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has cancelled all Class 12 state board post-examination work.
In an official notification, Mohua Das, Council president, said that all post-examination work will remain suspended until March 31. This will include dispatching of answer sheets to head examiner’s residence and distribution of answer scripts to the examiners.
The WBCHSE 2020 was held from March 13 to 21. The other three examination which were scheduled to be held on March 23, 25 and 27 will now be held after April 15.
The Council has also announced that its head office including four regional officers shall be closed from March 23 to 27, with immediate effect.
The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has also directed all its examiners to cancel its process of submission of marks and answer scripts to head examiners until further announcements.
The WBBSE 2020 was conducted from February 18 to 27. As per the process, after evaluation of the answer papers, the examiners need to hand it over to their respective head examiners. The head examiners then re-check it, and after the tabulation of marks, it is submitted to the board.
The same process is followed by higher secondary examination examiners too.
The total number of positive coronavirus cases in the country today has risen to 415 with seven deaths. Many cities in the country have been lockdown in a bid to contain the overall spread of COVID-19.
