Do not postpone Goa Board Exams 2020: Former CM Parsekar

The former CM of the state said that there should no politics in the name of exams. 

Former Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar on May 19, 2020, stated that Goa SSC exams should be conducted according to the decided schedule According to the reports, the minister further added that BJP has decided to stand by the decision taken by Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education to take responsibility of the students and conduct the exams.

The reports suggest that the Minister said, “We have told the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to wholeheartedly support the Goa Board in its decision to conduct the Goa SSC Board exams.” Showing concern about the future of the students and stressing on the importance of SSC exams, the former education minister of Goa stated that the party believes that there should be no politics over exams. He further added that those who are against the conducting of the Goa class 10 board exams 2020 or are approaching court for the same, must have never got a chance to contribute in the field of education.

The Minister added, “Opposing SSC exam is not right people should not play with the lives of students. There are many other pending issues if they want to corner the government.”

On May 5, 2020, While addressing the media, The Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education said on Wednesday that these exams, stalled due to the COVID-19 outbreak, will be held from May 20 onwards. Revealing the Goa SSC Time Table 2020 and Goa HSSC Time Table 2020 Board chairman Ramakrishna Samant stated that Goa HSSC (Class 12) examinations for the two pending papers will be held from May 20 to May 22, while the Goa SSC (Class 10) exams for all papers will be held from May 21 onwards.

However, with the extension of the lockdown until May 31 and sudden increase in the number of positive COVID-19 cases in the state, there are speculation that the class 10, 12  board exams will be postponed again.
