The University of Delhi is likely to begin the DU Admissions 2020 registration from June 20. However, the officials suggest, there will be no trials for sports and Extra-Curricular activities (ECA) due to the coronavirus pandemic.

A meeting of the Standing Committee on DU Admissions 2020 conducted by DU on June 9, 2020, decided that registration will be opened between June 20 and July 4 for all courses. The second window for registration will be opened for updation of marks after declaration of the Central Board of Secondary Education, or CBSE 12th results 2020. The reports also suggest that the DU Admission 2020 cut-offs are likely to be announced in August, but it will depend also on when the CBSE declares its board results 2020.

DU Admission 2020 Process

This year, the DU Admission 2020 process will be conducted without any sports trials. The DU admission in ECA except for NCC and NSS will be based on the certificates as no trials will be conducted. The official further added this was decided in the view of the coronavirus situation. There will no trials for sports quota and the admission will be done on the basis of certificates only, he said.

Another source suggests that the entire DU Admissions 2020 process will be online and students will not have to visit colleges. It was also decided that the documents which are bona fide and once submitted online on the basis of which approval is given for the admission by the college, cannot be rejected later on the premise that document is not acceptable unless it is forged.

In case the college want some additional information, it can ask for the same via phone or e-mail. The official added, "Another fact that was agreed to by the committee was that any discrepancy in the spelling of the name or missing of surname in the certificates of SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD shall be verified from their other certificates rather than rejecting their admission.”
