How to prepare for Class 12 board exams and JEE
12th Boards test subject knowledge through some objective and subjective type questions based on the NCERT textbooks. JEE tests conceptual understanding and application-based skills through multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Hence, preparing simultaneously for the two exams needs to be done methodically and meticulously. The tips below will help students study for board exams and JEE altogether to score well.
Know the Syllabus and exam pattern
It is important to know the syllabus of JEE and boards. Boards and JEE follow a different exam pattern. Hence, it is important to thoroughly understand the question paper pattern. For JEE, you need to strengthen your conceptual and application-based knowledge. For Boards, you need to focus on theoretical knowledge. Additionally, while JEE covers the syllabus of both Classes 11 and 12, boards tests students for Class 12 syllabus only. Unlike JEE, there is no negative marking in 12th boards. Moreover, while boards are conducted in pen and paper mode, JEE pattern states that it is conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode only. Thus, the strategy to score well in each of the exams need to planned well ahead of time.
