The Himachal Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (HPBOSE) is a state-level board of education that prescribes course curriculum, syllabus, and textbooks for school education in the state of Himachal Pradesh. HPBOSE conducts Class 12 board exams for Science, Humanities and Commerce streams.

The HPBOSE Class 12 Humanities stream includes several prominent subjects, namely English, Hindi, Sanskrit, History, Political Science, Sociology, Geography, Psychology, etc. For Humanities stream, English is a compulsory subject, and students have to select four elective subjects from the list of options mentioned in the table below. Each paper carries 100 marks.

HPBOSE 12th Exam Pattern and Grading for Humanities stream

According to the HP Board 12th exam pattern, the duration of each examination is three hours. The marks distribution among different chapters in History, Political Science, Geography, Economics, Sociology, and Psychology are given below:

Practical assessments Psychological Testing (Profile)

 The students shall be required to prepare one case profile and conduct five practical assessments related to the topics covered in the course. The case profile will include the development history of the subject, using both qualitative (observation, interview, rating scale, etc.) and quantitative (Psychological Testing) approaches. Practical assessments would involve using standardised psychological assessment devices in different domains (intelligence, personality, aptitude, adjustment, attitude, self-concept, and anxiety).

Marks Distribution

  • Reporting file including case profile: Four Marks
  • Viva Voice: Five Marks
  • Two practical assessments of eight marks; four marks each for accurate conduct and reporting

Political Science

You must not forget to carry your HPBOSE 12th admit card 2025 on all exam days. In case you forget, you will not be allowed to write the exam. Along with the HPBOSE admit card 2025, students must also carry their pens, pencils, ruler. geometry box etc.

No, you will not be allowed to write the HP Board 12th exam without the admit card. Hence, it is suggested that you remember to carry this document of utmost importance, otherwise you either be wasting your time to get it from home or will miss the exam and awarded zero in the subject.
