Jammu and Kashmir teachers to evaluate class 10, 12 answer sheets from home

The Jammu and Kashmir government has directed all the teachers to resume the evaluation of the answer scripts work from home of class 10 and 12 annual examinations that were held in the summer zones of the Jammu.

The Jammu and Kashmir government has asked teachers to start the evaluation work of answer scripts of class 10 and 12 annual examinations that were held in the summer zones of Jammu division from home. The evaluators or sub-examiners have been directed to check the answer scripts at home as a one-time exception.

The move comes in the wake of ongoing coronavirus lockdown in the country.

As per the order issued by the Department of School Education: “The remaining unevaluated answer scripts of JKBOSE class 10 and JKBOSE class 12 should be issued to the eligible sub examiners/ evaluators for evaluation from their homes instead of routine table evaluation as a one-time exception”.

The evaluation should be carried out after taking into consideration all adequate measures to ensure the safety, security, and confidentiality of the answer sheets, for which the joint secretary (or secrecy) should work out all required modalities, the order added.

Jammu & Kashmir State Board of School Education (JKBOSE) had postponed all its examinations until further orders, as a precautionary measure, in the wake of Coronavirus in the country. On March 31, the Board had said that the rescheduled dates of the exams will be notified separately.  

The Department of School Education has also asked all the evaluators that the proportionate marks in the practical examination of Class 10 annual regular summer zone shall be awarded to the examinees corresponding to the marks scored by them in the science theory subject.

The order further reads that the appropriate decision about the non-conduct of examination in some theory papers of Class 12 annual regular summer zone, Jammu will be taken after the completion of the evaluation of all those papers which have already been conducted and reviewing/ assessing the situation at that time.
