According to the reports, the Primary and Secondary Education Minister of the state revealed that the evaluation process for the Karnataka 1st PUC exam is complete and the result will be out on May 5. In order to follow the norms of social distancing, results will be uploaded on the board's official website and will be sent to the registered mobile numbers of the parents and students. No result will be displayed in the colleges.
While addressing the media, the State Education Minister, Suresh Kumar said, “The results of the first year Pre-University Examinations will be announced on May 5. The results will be sent directly to students. Hence, colleges will not be displaying the results.” In Karnataka, the pre-university course of PUC is a two-year course including class 11 and class 12 known as PUC I and PUC II respectively. Admission to varsities and for further studies dependent on the PUC score of candidates.
Candidates who appeared for the First Year PUC or Pre-University Certificate examination can check their results using their registration number and date of birth. According to the reports, the students who will not able to clear the Karnataka 1st PUC exams will be given a chance to appear for supplementary examinations at college level and further details on this will be shared with the institutes by the department in due course.
Meanwhile, the state is yet to conduct papnding Karnataka SSLC board exams (Class 10) and Karnataka 2nd PUC board exam (Class 12). The board is not able to release revised Karnataka SSLC Time Table 2020 and Karnataka 2nd PUC Time Table 2020 due to the COVID-19 lockdown.
Earlier, the stated decided to announce the PUC 1 result on March 27. However, the declaration date got postponed due to the nationwide lockdown in order to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus. The board exam results are delayed due to the outbreak of the contagious pandemic spreading all across India. However, now the Minister of Human Resource and Development directed the state and central boards to resume the evaluation process and start declaring the results to avoid any further delay in the beginning of the next academic cycle. The new academic sessions are already delayed by a month. According to the UGC guidelines 2020, colleges will begin from the month of September instead of July.
