Kendriya Vidyalaya commences online classes on Facebook and YouTube

Amid the ongoing nationwide lockdown due to coronavirus pandemic, Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) of the Delhi region has commenced online classes for students of class 9 to 12 on Facebook and YouTube. To start these live interactive classes, a team of teachers was put together across all classes and streams. By means of WhatsApp school groups, the time table developed by the teachers was sent to the students. Regarding the live classes, vital information was shared with the principals of KVs of Delhi region. Further the information was passed on to the teachers and students. So far, the online classes have received positive responses from not only students but parents as well. In just two days, the classes have almost garnered 90,000 views and almost 40,000 comments.

On YouTube, the KVS Delhi region has more than 13,000 subscribers. Teachers have made playlists in the groups of classes, subjects, and lessons. To make creative videos, the team of teachers is also utilising different software such as movie makers, Powerpoint, screen recorder etc. Using different apps, homework and assignments are sent to students. From today onwards, the online live classes for classes 6 to 8 will start. Apart from this, for Class 10 and 12 students, the live programmes and the recorded ones of NIOS are also available.

As of now, the COVID-19 pandemic has reached past the tally of 1.5 million across the globe. More than one lakh people have lost their lives across the globe. In India, the number of infected people has reached the mark of 9,000.
