NIOS exams 2020 cancelled: The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has cancelled all the NIOS 10th as well as NIOS 12th examinations. The same has been notified through an official notification by NIOS, dated July 10, 2020. "Conduct of March 2020 Secondary and Senior Secondary Course Public Examinations rescheduled to commence from July 17, 2020, and further postponed, now stand cancelled," the official notification read.
The NIOS exam cancellation notification also states that the learners will have the option to appear in the next cycle of examinations (Public or on-demand) as and when the situation is conducive amid Coronavirus outbreak. The marks obtained by the learner in these examinations will be considered final.
The NIOS has also released the assessment scheme for declaring the NIOS 10th Result 2020 and NIOS 12th Result 2020 for the past learners as well as the first-time learners.
NIOS 10th, 12th Assessment Scheme
NIOS has released the assessment scheme for NIOS 10th Result 2020 and NIOS 12th Result 2020 as the NIOS exams 2020 have now been cancelled. Students must go through all the point carefully to know how their NIOS Results 2020 will be prepared:
- For learners of NIOS 10th and NIOS 12th, who have past performance (i.e, passed) in four subjects, the average marks for the best three subjects will be considered for which the learner was registered in the examinations which could not be conducted in March-April 2020.
- For learners of NIOS 10th and NIOS 12th, who have past performance (i.e, passed) in three subjects, the average marks for the best two subjects will be considered for which the learner was registered in the examinations which could not be conducted in March-April 2020.
- For learners of NIOS 10th and NIOS 12th, who have past performance in one or two subjects (i.e, passed), the theory marks will be calculated based on the average performance in the theory of last three public examinations in those subjects for which the learner was registered to appear in the examinations which could not be conducted in March-April 2020.
- For first-time NIOS learners, Tutor Marked Assignments (TMA) and/or Practical marks are available, their performance will be based on the same. Their performance will be calculated basis the last three public examinations in the subject for which the earner had to appear in the MArch-April 2020 NIOS exams.
The NIOS TMA/ and Practical marks obtained by the NIOS 10th, 12th students will be reflected along with the NIOS 10th, 12th theory marks in the NIOS 10th, 12th Result 2020 wherever available.

NIOS 10th, 12th Result 2020
As per the official NIOS notification regarding the NIOS 10th, 12th exams 2020 cancellation, the NIOS 10th Result 2020 and NIOS 12th Results 2020 will be compiled according to the assessment scheme. The NIOS Result 2020 will be declared soon.
As per the original NIOS 10th Datesheet 2020 and NIOS 12th Datesheet 2020, the NIOS exams 2020 for classes 10 and 12 were scheduled to begin from March 24, 2020, and conclude on April 24 2020. However, following the Coronavirus outbreak and the subsequent nationwide lockdown, NIOS postponed the examinations twice. They were rescheduled to begin from July 17, 2020. Now, the NIOS 10th, 12th examinations now stand cancelled.
