NIOS is prepping up to declare the NIOS 10th, 12th results on August 7, 2020, as directed by the Supreme Court of India, SC. Check details below:

NIOS Results 2020: National Institute of Open Schooling, NIOS is prepping up to declare the NIOS 10th, 12th results on August 7, 2020, as directed by the Supreme Court of India, SC. Earlier, NIOS issued an official notification about the cancellation of the NIOS 10th and NIOS 12th exams which were earlier scheduled to be conducted from July 17, 2020.

Talking about the declaration of the NIOS 10th Results 2020 and NIOS 12th Results 2020, the bench, comprising Justices A M Khanwilkar, Dinesh Maheshwari and Sanjiv Khanna said, “Considering the fact that NIOS has already issued a notification on July 10, 2020, after the institution of these petitions, nothing survives for consideration in the present writ petition except to observe that NIOS must ensure that the result for the current academic year is declared not later than August 7, 2020.”

NIOS Assessment Scheme 2020: How would the marks be awarded

Students who appeared for NIOS Exams 2020 must know that NIOS 10th Results 2020 and NIOS 12th Results 2020 will be released following the marking criteria listed below:

  1. All NIOS 10th and NIOS 12th students who performed in four subjects in the past would be provided marks of the best three subjects as their marks in this year's theory exams.
  2. Those who have performed only in three subjects would be awarded the marks of their best two performed subjects. The student must have registered for those subjects in this year's exams too.
  3. Those students who had only appeared in 1 or 2 subjects would be awarded marks based on their average performance in the past three public exam results.
  4. For the first-timers, their tutor-marked assignment or practical marks would be considered as the performance of the past three public exam subjects for which the student registered but they could not be conducted this time.

As a one-time measure, this year the students would get the option to appear in the next public exam or on-demand exam once the normalcy is restored. For all the latest updates, students are advised to stay tuned with shiksha.com or visit the official website of the Board.
