Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged the private sector to come forward in improving the quality of education in schools. He said that the teaching-learning process should be redefined and this should be a continuous process.
Modi speaking at the Shikshak Parv 2021 said: “In this our society, our private sector has to come forward and contribute in increasing the quality of education in government schools.”
Speaking about the National Digital Educational Architecture (N-DEAR) programme, Modi said that it is going to have a big role in making it modern by eliminating inequality in education.
“Just as UPI interface has revolutionized the banking sector, N-DEAR will act as a super connect between all academic activities,” PM said.
Shikshak Parv 2021 is being celebrated from September 5 to 17, 2021. Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed students, teachers, and education stakeholders on the role of teachers, learning during pandemics, new initiatives under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
While speaking through video conferencing Modi said: 'Vidyanjali 2.0' is like a platform for the country's resolve of 'Sabka Prayas' with 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas'.
He said that in this rapidly changing era, our teachers also have to learn about new systems and techniques rapidly.
“Through 'Nishtha' training programs, the country is preparing its teachers for these changes,” Modi said.
NEP 2020:
Talking about the NEP, Prime Minister said that from the formulation of NEP to implementation, there has been the contribution of academicians, experts, teachers, at every level. He said: “Now we have to take this participation to a new level, we also have to involve the society in it.”
Modi urged Olympians to visit at least 75 schools and encourage children to get into sports. He also urged school principals to approach the Olympians from their area to visit their school.
PM Modi also inaugurated five initiatives for accessible education on the occasion of Shikshak Parv 2021, which include Indian Sign Language dictionary of 10,000 words, Talking Books (audiobooks for visually impaired), School Quality Assessment and Accreditation Framework (SQAAF) of Central Board for Secondary Education (CBSE), NISTHA teachers' training programme for NIPUN Bharat, and Vidyanjali Portal for facilitating education volunteers, donors and CSR contributors for school development.
Talking about these initiatives, he said that these initiatives are also important because the country is currently celebrating the festival of freedom. Taking new resolutions for how India will be after 100 years of independence.
