Tamil Nadu Class 10 Board Exam 2020 to be conducted as per schedule: Minister K A Sengottiyan

Tamil Nadu School Education Minister clarified that it will conduct the class 10 exam as per the schedule and will not delay it further.

Tamil Nadu School Education Minister K A Sengottiyan had clarified that the state board will conduct the Class 10 Board exam as scheduled and there will not be any further postponement.

After receiving Rs 1.6 crore from the Elementary School Teachers Association for the Tamil Nadu Chief Ministers Relief Fund, the Minister said, “Due to the extension of the coronavirus lockdown till May 31, it was necessary to postpone the examination to June 15.”

“Now there is no scope for further postponement, and the government is making further arrangements to teach the hill area students through online,” he said.

The Tamil Nadu 10^th board examinations were scheduled to be held from June 1 to June 12. However, it has now been decided to be conducted from June 15 to June 25, as the nationwide coronavirus lockdown has been extended again until May 31.

Earlier, as per the Tamil Nadu 10th Date Sheet 2020, exams were initially supposed to be conducted from March 27, however, due to coronavirus outbreak, they were postponed.

The 10th examination is scheduled to be conducted in over 12,500 centres as against 3,084 centres last year, the minister said. In every centre, the social distance would be followed for accommodating the students to write the examination, he added.
