West Bengal class 12th exam which was scheduled to be conducted from June 29 has been postponed. The exams will now be conducted from July 2 onwards.
West Bengal Education Minister Partha Chatterjee has announced that Higher secondary or Uccha Madhyamik examinations have been postponed again and will now be conducted from July 2. The exams were scheduled to be conducted from June 29.
According to the revised West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) Class 12th Date Sheet 2020, the higher secondary (Class 12) pending examination will be conducted on July 2, 6 and 7.
While addressing a press conference, the education minister said that around 116 examination centres were devastated due to the cyclone Amphan. All these schools need to be repaired, the public transport system which has been affected due to month-long lockdown need to be brought in proper shape so that candidates will not face trouble to reach the exam centres.
"The council will also ensure that proper arrangement has been made at the examination centres to maintain the guidelines of social distancing. The students will be allowed in the examination centres wearing masks, and the sitting arrangements will be made keeping a distance of two metres,” the minister said.

The remaining exams for Uccha Madhyamik include- physics, accountancy, chemistry, economics, journalism and mass communication, and statistics, geography. Around 8 lakh students have applied to appear for the WBSHSE Class 12 exam this year.

Meanwhile, the evaluation process of the West Bengal Board Class 10 answer scripts has been completed. WB board 10th result 2020 is expected to be announced by July-end or August first week.
