COVID-19 Lockdown: Gujarat Technological University postpones all summer exams

The Gujarat Technological University has announced that all the summer exams have been postponed until the indefinite period of time, amid the lockdown and rising coronavirus cases in the country.

  The Gujarat Technological University (GTU) has postponed all the summer exams to be held in the state for an indefinite period of time, amid the lockdown made effective from Monday i.e. March 23, 2020.

Looking at the current condition of coronavirus spread in the country, the GTU which had not cancelled the examinations earlier has now postponed it until further notice.

As per the notification issued by the university on its official website, the campus will remain closed from March 25 to 31. 

The university will remain completely closed until the above-defined duration. And all teaching and non-teaching staff members are requested to avoid coming to the campus, the notification said.

The varsity has also requested all the students to stay at home and stay safe. All the students' queries will be answered through email, phone calls or via other online platforms, the varsity informed. Recently, the university had cancelled the World Arduino Day scheduled to be celebrated on March 21, 2020.

The institutes that are affiliated to Gujarat University have also been asked to follow the guidelines.

The University of Gujarat is planning to bring out new plans to help teachers deliver their lectures through online portals to complete courses of the students. 

On Monday evening the state was sent on complete lockdown amid rising coronavirus cases. The recruiting authorities have also cancelled all recruitment exams to be held in the state, as a precautionary measure to avoid further spread of coronavirus. The total number of COVID-19 cases in Gujarat rose to 33, with three more positive cases reported in the state.
