Making way for flexible business management education for working executives, Bridge School of Management, a joint venture between HT Media and Apollo Global Inc (USA), has launched a Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM). This certificate course will offer customised corporate programmes for different industry sectors.

The entire programme fee is Rs 2.5 lakh. Candidates have four specialisation options: Marketing, Human Resource, Finance, and Operation & Technology.

Developed on the lines of EMBA, the 11-month industry-oriented course promises to deliver quality content which is practical and tailor-made for corporate requirements. “About 80% of the course is online-based while the rest 20% is classroom interaction. The online content will be executed through Apollo’s own technology platform that has seen high success rate throughout the world,” said Mehul Patel, chief administrative officer and chief marketing officer at Apollo Global, Inc. Their first batch consisting of 120 students commenced last week.

“The course has been developed with inputs from various industry experts focused on aspiring mid-management working professionals from different sectors. The content of the course has ‘high relevance for the industry as its curriculum is developed keeping in mind the skills desired by employees at this level for bridging ‘employment-education’ mismatch,” informed Rajesh Puri, CEO, India Education Services Pvt Ltd.

“Currently, most certificate or satellite course offered by top management institutes, have no practical approach. They offer one-way experience without interactive learning experience. We, on the contrary give a 24-hour access to our interactive platforms and once a week classroom session. Our centres suitably located in Delhi, Gurgaon and Noida, the hub of corporate centres. As a result, students can opt to reach their destination easily,” adds Puri.

It’s not to be compared to Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). “MOOCs are self-learning programmes with little interaction that may or may not provide a certificate at the end. We on the contrary have a fully-engaged and interactive course pattern,” says Curtis Uehlein, president of Apollo Global Inc. “Similar modelled course is being offered by Apollo Global in more than a dozen countries including UK, US and Mexico. These courses have high success rates and we aim for the same with PGPM,” he added.

Dipak C. Jain, former dean of Kellogg School of Management, is on the panel of advisors of the B-School.
