My learnings from BBA and MBA: Arun Pandey
After completing my 10th with 7.9 CGPA, I had selected the Science stream. During 11th and 12th standard, my average was 60-65%. When the time came for choosing a college, I committed the biggest mistake of my life, which is taking admission in an Engineering college (as my basics of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry were very poor). After getting admission and after the 1st semester exam results were declared, I failed in 3 subjects out of 6, and that time was like venturing into hell. The time came to think about the next step: whether I should continue Engineering or step back.
Taking the decision of backing down from engineering was like attempting to make 100 runs in 1 ball in cricket.
It was so difficult for me to share or even talk about my educational misfortune with my parents. It took 3-4 days to build up guts inside me to approach my parents, and once I shared everything with them, they both supported me that time. Then I had 6 months to think about what to do next in my life; what I was good at, what my strength was, and what would be the possible areas for me to develop my skills and strengths. After giving it a good enough thought, I decided to do BBA in marketing. Hence, I took admission and completed my BBA from Gwalior. During my undergraduate education, I attended a large numbers of seminars, Bootcamp sessions and extra motivation lectures which helped increase my marketing skills. There were lots of mock drills too for marketing. Then I took admission for post-graduation, the course being MBA in International Business, to enhance my knowledge and skills in the global market via the CMAT exam. For taking admission in the institute I was in, you have to appear in CMAT and at least score 150 marks to take admission. I didn’t join any coaching classes; instead, I just read my 12th class course content and college books. I got enough marks to secure a seat in Prestige Institute of Management and Research, Indore and now, I am a Student Placement Coordinator in the institute.
