In this article Abdullah shares his views on what an aspirant should do in case their score is less than what they had expected it to be.

As the popular saying goes, “Participation is more important than winning”, it also applies to the Common Admission Test (CAT) aspirants. If an aspirant doesn’t get the desired CAT cut-off or B-school they should not take this as a failure of their life. In this scenario, an aspirant has two options – take the best B-school based on the cut-off or wait for another year and do a lot of hard work and win the battle of yours.

An aspirant also has the option of other good B-schools and non-CAT exams such XAT, NMAT, SNAP, MH-CET, MAT, CMAT, which they could appear for. The most important thing is that they should not sit idle instead fight till the end until the goal is achieved. There is not much difference in the non-CAT exams just some addition or deletion of a few topics such as abstracts, GK, descriptive writing, that are can be prepared easily with little writing practice.

Do rigorous preparation religiously with utmost dedication and analysis of several mock tests and previous years’ test papers. Refer to Shiksha.com and the official college website for ranking, placements and admission FAQs for a better idea about the college and its admission process. If required also talk to the college current students or alumni or any faculty who would help you in adding some in-depth insights about the college and tips to crack the admission process as this would be a plus for you.
