The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies now have a new placement support policy for its students to wish to set up their own businesses.

The university has recently introduced a policy under which it will offer assistance for entrepreneurship purposes. Under this policy, students graduating from UPES can seek help from their alma mater even after two years of completing the course; in case they decide to set up a business after testing water in the job market.

“With the new placement policy in place, we urge our students to follow their entrepreneurial dreams by giving them a choice to return to their alma mater for placement support,” said Utpal Ghosh, President and CEO, UPES, in a statement.

“UPES already has an incubation centre at campus that provides end-to-end assistance and guidance to students who want to do something of their own. We encourage entrepreneurship and innovation in our students as it is not just about running a successful business; entrepreneurial skills are required if you are in a job or even in day-to-day life,” he added.

UPES is also launching experience zones by this month end at three locations in Delhi/NCR. These experience zones are being set up with the aim to provide assistance to the candidates take informed decisions while choosing academic courses. These centres will have counsellors who will personally guide youngsters. This experience zones will soon be extended Tier 2, Tier 3 cities where students have limited access to information thus need more focused counselling.
