Review of Amrita School of Business.
Placements: When it comes to placement, all are eligible from the 5th trimester or from the second year. The average package is 5 lacs, and the highest is 14 lacs for our senior batch. Companies like PwC, BNY Mellon, Deloitte, the Federal Bank, ICICI Securities, Cognizant, Emphasis, IDBI, Infosys and many more offer jobs mostly in Bangalore. Internships are only offered for 2 months, which we can get from college or try on our own.
Infrastructure: The college campus has beautiful separate floor for every specialization. There are many communities in college; those who want to talk can join TAB community. The college has a big library and a virtual library is also available. The virtual library has more books than the physical one. Classrooms are equipped with projectors, so feel comfortable. The hostel is separate for girls and boys, with a double-sharing room; the stay cost is 1.9 lakhs; and mess fees are also included. Hostel students have groups that organize many nighttime events.
Faculty: Faculty members are helpful but some are lazy in the documentation process. The staff is very slow. Sometimes they do not reply to our complaints. The course is too classy to tie up with foreign universities to build curriculum; the combination package of all management aspects makes us industry-ready. Trimester exams are easy and midterm and final exams are difficult.

MBA + M.S. in Business Analytics Dual Degree Programme with University at Buffalo, USA - Batch of 2019

The dual degree is value for money and offers great value to students.
Placements: Placements in the college are fairly good, especially for marketing students. Students from other campuses should go to Coimbatore for placements. The college provides training on soft skills and aptitude from the first year itself. The placement team helps students in getting internships. The CIR team has experienced faculty members.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of Bangalore campus is not as great as Coimbatore campus. However, the whole campus is Wi-Fi enabled including the hostel. It is a mandatory residential course, and it has 2-sharing rooms with adequate facilities. The hostel is well maintained, but predominantly, they serve only southern dishes in the hostel.
Faculty: As it is a dual course, students are taken to University at Buffalo for a month after internships, to train them in strategic management. It's a great experience, and the rest of the MS course will be handled by UB faculty members in India. Visiting faculty members are the best in the industry.
Other: The college organises cultural fest and extracurricular activities.

The college provides good ambiance for studies.
Placements: There are huge placement opportunities for students as the number of companies that are arriving each year are double the number of students in the college. As I'm from the finance department, there were quite a number of companies and banks visiting for placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure depends on each self. Amrita Bangalore has an ambience similar to a garden and a warm place to live in, as it is in Bangalore. Wi-Fi facility is provided to students. All types of games are available here. There is a rumour on food quality wherein Bangalore campus provides such quality and tidy food that is not provided outside the campus.
Faculty: There is no doubt that we have experienced professors' teaching for MBA, but if we are not comfortable with particular professors in terms of studies or the way they teach, they can be changed according to our convenience. Also, we get the opportunity to learn a lot from the visiting faculty members.

Good environment and nice teachers with very good support for placements
Placements: Most of my classmates were placed. Few of them were placed out of India as well. Although it was competitive. The average salary offered was around 5-6 lakhs per annum for most of us. Highest was for out of India placements which was around 15 lakhs and the lowest was around 2.8 lakhs.
Infrastructure: Decent facilities with no major complaints. I did not use the hostel facility so cannot comment on that. Labs had good Wi-Fi and the playground was average as well. I did get to try their sports or other facilities since I was not a hostel student. Food was okay. Quality of labs and classrooms were good but the campus/facilities are not good as the ones in the Amritapuri Campus, Coimbatore.
Faculty: Most were highly experienced. I especially liked their faculty members from SUNY Buffalo USA who were really good at teaching. All others were approachable and friendly and with Ph.D. degrees. Teaching methods were a mix of theory and majorly involved case studies. There were around 60 students in a class, that would make the teacher-student ratio 1:60.

My experience has been fairly good. I was a fortunate one to get placed in a really good college.
Placements: You have many companies coming in. A few are, Deloitte, Zoho, TCS, KPMG etc. All the placements take place from the main campus in Coimbatore as we have the placement cell over there. There are also companies which come down to Bangalore, such as DTDC etc. We can expect a package of around 4 LPA to 10 LPA, and we also have a few international companies coming such as KIMJI Ramdas.
Infrastructure: It has a really good library, good classrooms with AC. It also has a reading room to do projects. A well equipped gym and ground facilities to play sports. You also have a classroom where the MS classes are conducted. It has facilities like projector slide changer and classroom with name cards. All the notes and slides are shared after the classes so that people can work on their next day assignments. You also have an in-house doctor if in case you guys are sick. You also have all the shops nearby and hotels such as Bheemas total mall and medical store. You also have a superstore to buy fruits, vegetables and day to day things to use. You also have a very nice jogging space to go for a nice run anytime you feel like.
Faculty: We have some external faculty who come and teach subjects like business communication, but most are full-time faculty such as Deepika mam, Pooja mam and Amalendu etc. Mr Manoj is the principal. They have a trimester pattern. Usually, they follow the Harvard case study pattern. Most of the faculty are pretty friendly and are always there to help. We have classes from 8:30 am to 6 pm, but some days can have different timings.
Other: It is located in the heart of the city. It is next to the electronic city. The weather is always pleasant. The good news here is the rules are not as strict as the engineering students. You are allowed to sit and work on assignments in groups post-college lectures. Usually, girls are expected to go back to their hostels by 11 pm, but guys can stay late keeping the safety measures in mind. You have a gate pass system where people can leave the campus three times a month. And you also have a daily pass where people can go out for 2 hrs.

Amrita School of Business - worthwhile for lateral students.
Placements: As far as the internships are concerned, a member of the college would assist students in finding internships, but only a few of them would be actually worthwhile. The placement department may come up with very few internship opportunities. Excluding this, there would not be any support in finding proper and meaningful internships. As far as the placements are concerned, our previous batch had a higher success rate than us, crossing over 90% placements. But the problem occurs because the placement is a cross-campus phenomenon and that we would essentially be competing with over 300 students for a job. Even though the college supports the basic 4 streams of MBA, a majority of the companies coming for placements are looking for sales and marketing students, and the least options come for operations students and HR students. Some of the top companies that come would include Khimji Ramdas group, Philips, Eureka Forbes, Zoho, Federal bank, SIB, Asian Paints, Berger Paints, HDFC etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is satisfactory amounting to a cross-campus WiFi, accessible only through laptops, a dedicated library that is continuously updated, an on-campus medical clinic, multiple grounds for Sports like football, cricket, badminton and basketball. Being an eggetarian campus, the quality of food is satisfactory in the mess and average in the paid canteen. Hostel rooms are considerably better off, but minimal facilities are available for use.
Faculty: The course curriculum is exceptionally well thought of, and a majority of the faculty members are really knowledgeable and come with excellent credibilities. Most follow the traditional teaching methods but occasionally move into a modern approach. Do-it-yourself projects are plenty in nature. The student to faculty ratio is 60:1. Industry exposure is very good. Being a dual degree programme, the curriculum is of international standards and involves a massive range of subjects including law, modelling etc that may not be found in any other management institutions across the region.
Other: The college has very strict policies regarding off-campus activities and students are only allowed to go out for 2 hours a day, and a maximum three weekends in a month, with prior approved permission. Also, attendance is 100% mandatory and all the students in the campus are treated equally, irrespective of the course they follow.
