It was a great learning experience.
Placements: The placement committee in the campus is very pro active. There is almost 100 percent placement. They understand the field of interest of the person and plan interviews accordingly. Well known design firms visits for campus placements and internships. I was offered 2,40,000 as my starting salary package which is a very good start.
Infrastructure: If you love nature then this is the place to be. It cant get any better studying amidst of nature. Flower pots and greenery all around. They have well equipped and airconditioned computer labs, classrooms with projector. In gist I would say the campus is small but a fun place to be in.
Faculty: The faculty is highly qualified and with great experience. They believe in imparting practical knowledge rather than bookish knowledge. Their curriculum is very interactive. We were taken on a weekly basis to monuments, art galleries for a better understanding of design and increase our observation and sketching skills.

Good infrastructure, great atmosphere, good location and fine company.
Placements: I got good opportunities through the internal placement cell for my summer internships. The pay was good. I even got job offers during that period and I am still in touch with my connections. 100% of the students were given the opportunity out of which 60% were placed in career-building internships and jobs.
Infrastructure: The classrooms, design labs, and studios have all the equipment you need. The library is full of yesteryear's thesis and study material. The canteen food is good. Infrastructure has been recently renovated and is a good place to expose oneself to whatever interests you. Wi-Fi facility is also available.
Faculty: The faculty members during my period were outstanding. They've been very supportive and helpful. I am still in touch with them. All of them are renowned designers and artists. Their work has always been inspiring, relating and motivational. They are tech savvy, friendly and know the pain points of each student of theirs.

How my college life went.
Placements: The placements totally depend on the quality of work and how well you can communicate with the clients. The recruiting companies included Marks and Spencer, Westside, etc. The college provides internship opportunities to all students, and the top roles were designers and creative directors.
Infrastructure: There are not many facilities provided; you cannot bring your laptops to the college, and there is no Wi-Fi for students. There is a library, but you won't be able to access it because they kick you out as soon as college ends. There is a canteen inside the college.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful and well-read; they are there to assist you with anything. The teaching quality is excellent, but the workload is too much. The curriculum is average, and I don't think it prepares you for everything—there are some things you'll have to learn on your own. The exams are like every other college; a jury comes and judges your work.
Other: I chose this course because I was interested in the digital world and how digital design works. I wish there was more freedom during the course and a little bit more use of digital tools. There are no fests conducted by the college, but there are educational trips.

On Fees and Eligibility

Q:   What is the selection process for B.Des and what is the minimum class 12th percentage required?

A:

The selection process for the Bachelor of Design (B.Des) programme at Apeejay Institute of Design is a comprehensive and competitive procedure designed to identify talented and dedicated individuals for the program.

Applicants are typically required to go through an Aptitude Test and Interview as part of the selection process. The Aptitude Test is a crucial component designed to assess the creative and problem-solving skills of candidates, providing an insight into their potential as aspiring designers. Following the Aptitude Test, shortlisted candidates proceed to the Interview round. The Interview allows the institute to understand the candidate's motivations, aspirations, and how well their goals align with the objectives of the B.Des program.

In terms of academic qualifications, while the minimum class 12th percentage required may vary, achieving a score of at least 60 percent is often considered advantageous. A strong academic foundation is indicative of a candidate's commitment to their education and can contribute positively to their overall application.

It's important for prospective students to note that the selection process is competitive, and meeting or exceeding the minimum academic requirements enhances the chances of securing admission. However, factors such as performance in the Aptitude Test and Interview, as well as the overall profile of the candidate, are also significant considerations in the selection process.

Q:   Are admissions at Apeejay Institute of Design entrance-based or merit-based?

A:

Apeejay Institute of Design follows an entrance-based admission process for its Bachelor of Design (B.Des) program. The institute conducts a design aptitude test or entrance exam to assess the creative and problem-solving abilities of aspiring students. This test plays a pivotal role in evaluating the candidate's aptitude for design disciplines such as graphic design, fashion design, and industrial design.

This entrance exam serves as a crucial tool in gauging the potential of aspiring designers in areas such as graphic design, fashion design, and industrial design. To ensure a comprehensive evaluation, the institute may also incorporate personal interviews and portfolio reviews into the selection process. These additional components provide a more nuanced understanding of the candidate's individual strengths, innovative mindset, and commitment to the field of design.

In addition to the entrance exam, Apeejay Institute of Design may consider other aspects such as a personal interview or portfolio review during the selection process. These components allow the institute to gauge the candidate's passion for design, innovative thinking, and potential to thrive in a dynamic and competitive design environment.

While academic performance is a consideration, the institute places a predominant emphasis on identifying candidates who not only possess a strong academic foundation but also showcase exceptional creativity and a keen interest in design. This meticulous approach to admissions ensures that those admitted to the B.Des programme at Apeejay Institute of Design are not only academically prepared but also bring a unique and valuable perspective to the dynamic world of design.

A:

The relatively lower cutoff suggests that the institute may adopt a more inclusive approach, considering a diverse range of candidates for admission to the B.Des program. While the CAT percentile is a crucial component, it's essential to note that admission criteria may involve other factors such as academic performance, portfolio assessment, and possibly a personal interview.

Prospective students aspiring to join Apeejay Institute of Design should thoroughly review the official admission guidelines provided by the institute. The institute's emphasis on a 30 percentile cutoff in CAT reflects a balance between evaluating candidates based on their aptitude and ensuring accessibility for a broader spectrum of applicants.

A:

Based on the provided eligibility criteria for the Bachelor of Design (B.Des) programme at Apeejay Institute of Design (AID), candidates are required to have completed twelve years of school education from a recognised board with a minimum aggregate of 50%. Given that you have achieved a percentage of 56% in your class 12th, you meet the minimum academic qualification specified by the institute.
