DAV College, Abohar Goodness for B.Sc.

    * Teaching Quality: The college has well-qualified teachers, although some may have limited experience. The curriculum is relevant, making students industry-ready. The teachers' professionalism and politeness contribute to a positive learning environment.
    * Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the agriculture department is below average, lacking facilities for research and experimentation. The classrooms are ventilated, but the library has mostly outdated books. The hostel is good, with decent mess food and a canteen serving basic items.
    * Placements: Placements are limited, with mostly study-based opportunities available. Few students have secured internships or jobs, and the college's reputation among recruiters could be improved.
    * Course Relevance: Agriculture courses offer a good scope in their respective fields, but the college needs to enhance its resources and facilities to provide better learning experiences.
    * Overall Assessment: While the college has potential, it requires significant improvements in infrastructure, placements, and faculty-student engagement to justify the 'good' label. With efforts towards upgrading these areas, DAV College, Abohar might become more attractive for prospective B.Sc. students in Agriculture.

    It is an average college.
Placements: Very few companies come here to hire agriculture students. You can get a salary package of 2 LPA-4 LPA, depending on the company. Top recruiting companies are Infosys, Wipro, and TCS. Very few students got internships. You can't expect a good internship experience here.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the agriculture department is below average. Labs are equipped with all necessary materials, but not for research purposes. Classrooms are ventilated and are quite good. A library is available, but it has only old editions of books. The hostel is good. The quality of the mess food is also good. The canteen is average. Sports and games are not given much importance.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and well-qualified. There are some teachers with little or no experience who are also not that knowledgeable. Overall, the teaching quality is average. Don't take admission here.
Placements: Despite the fact that 5 to 7% of our students are studying agriculture, no one is placed at our college. 0 students are given internships. We are experiencing a major educational crisis. Some students from other streams get placement instead of ours. However, the overall placement rate is 1%.
Infrastructure: There are no suitable facilities for any of our experiments. There is also lack of field to grow crops. Teachers are excellent, but the board does not provide any field area for them to perform any tasks. Every year, a sports meet is held. There is a hostel available, but the food is very poor and there is no hygiene. There are no medical facilities.
Faculty: Our agriculture teachers are excellent and highly qualified; they are well-versed in our curriculum. Exams are not particularly difficult because our university provides a specific syllabus and pet questions, allowing an average student to easily pass exams.
Other: I want to open my own food company so I decided to take this course.

The college was not satisfactory due to lack in all the fields.
Placements: DAV college Abohar would not provide any placement to the students and none of the MNC companies visits the campus. The internship scheme offered to the choice of student mostly in pesticide shops nearby area lack of opportunity to the students offered by the college.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure were poor in the department like Wi-Fi, Labs and too much crowd in the classrooms, non-experienced staff. The building of the hostel was poor and rooms are not in proper condition and bad-smelling all the time as it was near to an unhygienic place. Food was not in proper condition there is not any variety in food, canteen is also unhygienic and no sitting arrangement, the medical facility is also poor but sports and games are in good condition and provide all the basic games to the students and give opportunities to higher levels.
Faculty: The teachers were helpful and qualified but they are inexperienced. The quality of a few teachers is very poor. The course is relevant to curriculum but it does not make the student industry ready only bookish knowledge. There was no industrial knowledge given to the students.
Other: To know the farming techniques and losses faced by the farmers in agriculture activities I joined this course. There must be an improvement in lab, field and industrial knowledge. Youth festivals are there.
