Is Directorate of Distance Education (DDE) Good for B.Com?

Based on the reviews and feedback from various students and alumni, here's a summary of the pros and cons of pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the Directorate of Distance Education:

Pros:

* Good faculty: Many reviewers praised the teachers' knowledge, qualification, and approachability.
* Relevant course curriculum: The course curriculum is designed to make students industry-ready, covering topics such as accounting, marketing, and finance.
* Placements: While not exceptional, around 75% of students reported getting placed in decent jobs, with some even receiving salaries up to INR12 LPA.
* Infrastructure: The college has good infrastructure, including modern classrooms, libraries, and recreational facilities.
* Scholarships: Although limited, scholarships are available for meritorious and economically disadvantaged students.

Cons:

* Placement records: Some reviewers mentioned that the placement record could be improved, with fewer companies visiting the campus compared to other institutions.
* Limited internships: Around 15% of students did not receive internships, which may impact their career prospects.
* High fees: Some reviewers felt that the fees were quite high, although scholarships might help offset part of the cost.
* Limited industry exposure: A few students expressed disappointment with the lack of direct industry exposure and projects.

In conclusion, while DDE offers a good education and relevant course curriculum, its placement record and limited industry exposure are areas for improvement. Students who choose this programme should weigh these factors against the benefits and consider exploring additional resources outside of college to enhance their employability.

Our college is good with 100% placements for students.
Placements: About 80% of the students from our course got placed in MNC companies. Top recruiting companies like TCS, Information system, Wipro, Mphasis, Hero, etc., visit our campus for placements. About 85% of the students from our course got an internship across the pan India. Roles like dairy technology, data analyst, etc., are offered to the students.
Infrastructure: The college is spread over 4 acres. Our college provides almost everything like canteen, Wi-Fi, hospital, hostel, etc. Our college can accomodate around 50,000 students. Classrooms are equipped with a projector and air-conditioned facility. The hostel and PG facilities are also available for students.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are knowledgeable. They are PhD holders and doctorates. There are about 700 staff members. Their teaching quality is apt. Teachers teach through projector and PowerPoint presentation. The course curriculum is relevant to get a job in India. Teachers are good.

Our college is good for B.Com course, and you can score a high percentage in academics.
Placements: I suggest you do not take admission in this college if you want to get placed as placement record is not so good here. Our college is good for only some courses like dairy engineering, etc. If you plan to do M.Com or MBA, then you can join here as it will be best for you to prepare for your PG while studying.
Infrastructure: Our college is spread over 1020 acres. The infrastructure of our college is one of the best. You will enjoy your college life at the fullest. The canteen is available near the commerce building. There is a cafeteria where you get a variety of dishes at a reasonable price. Classrooms are good, neat, clean and equipped with projectors.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are qualified and helpful. They will teach you from their experience and knowledge. You will enjoy your learning here. Overall, the course curriculum is good, and it makes you ready for the industry if you study sincerely. You can join here and gain some knowledge.
Other: I have chosen this course because attendance is only 50% compulsory and you can easily prepare for competitive examination along with your course. The fee is high, but there should be some option for scholarships for merit-based and economically weaker students.

Our college provides helpful teachers and good campus life.
Placements: Around 75% of students got placed in this course. The highest salary package offered was about 12 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was 3.5 LPA. The average salary package offered was 7.5 LPA. Many MNCs like Coca-Cola, Sony, and some type of BPO companies like Concentrix and many more visited the campus to recruit students.
Infrastructure: We had average looking classrooms, good Wi-Fi, and systems. Labs were also cleaned and the library on the campus was very useful with interesting books. The food served in the hostel was average and the canteen was better than the food served in the hostel. Medical facilities were good college. The college was also good at sports and games. Overall it was a better college.
Faculty: Teachers in our college were helpful, well-qualified, and educated. They know how to behave with students and how to deal with them. The teaching quality was good overall. The course curriculum was relevant because it helps in dealing with many streams like marketing accounts and much more. So it makes students ready for the industry.
Other: I chose this course because I was much interested in accounts and solving them. The best thing about our course is that it included subjects which helped to understand business and economy.

It is a knowledgeable university with minimum fees. However, there is a need to boost placements.
Placements: The placements of the college are not that good. It is a government university and the main focus is on making the students thorough with the course curriculum. You will be provided in-depth knowledge and also will be informed about other opportunities.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. The college is expanded over a vast area. There is no wi-fi connection. The classrooms also do not have air conditioners. The labs and library are well organized. The hostels and theory environment are amicable with proper rules and regulations.
Faculty: The teachers are very friendly. They entertain all sorts of doubts, whether personal or professional. They teach beyond the course curriculum as well. They provide with proper career guidance. I still have contacts with some of my teachers. My overall experience was really great.
Other: The fests are organized periodically. Various cultural fests and other competitive events are held. The crowd is complete fun and frolic. The toppers are also accoladed with scholarships.

I am satisfied with the college. Faculty and facilities both are sufficient enough.
Placements: Less number of students are placed in our college as most companies visit the campus to offer fieldwork in which most of the girls are not interested. The highest salary offered is Rs. 20,000 per month. The lowest salary offered is Rs. 10,000 per month. Companies like HCL and many more visited the campus for placements.
Infrastructure: The college provides all the facilities. Labs and classrooms are well maintained. The quality of the food served in the canteen is good. Hostel rooms are very clean. I didn't face any kind of issues regarding the infrastructure of the college during my tenure. The college is the best for sports purposes, especially for table tennis.
Faculty: Most of the teachers in our college are highly qualified and knowledgeable. They are always ready to help any student in any situation. Most probably, they use all the teaching methods which help the students. I didn't get industry exposure. They conduct an industrial trip every year.
Other: I don't know much about the scholarships. However, SHUATS organises the fest every year. It also organises the convocation.

The college is average, but the placements, study, and work are good.
Placements: My senior batch got 50 percent of placement in which 10% of them got in a good company. My batch also got good placement companies, which hires at good salary as a comparison to course and college. I suggest coming to this college if you want bright future.
Infrastructure: The college has a huge campus, but the departments are not far from each other as you can easily go from one department to another. The Wi-Fi computers are available for use, and if you don't have laptop or desktop, you can easily do your project works at college only.
Faculty: Most of the professors had done their PhD and had good knowledge and experience to teach, and they give you good direction and suggestions. They are helpful for any questions and project work so that the student can do the work easily and know more about that.
Other: Every year, sports like football, cricket, basketball, and much more sports event are held on the campus.
