B.Des. in Footwear Design and Production - Batch of 2027

Absolutely the best campus , great faculty and staff
Placements: The top roles offered were senior designers, senior design consultants. The placements in the last couple of years have been almost around 96%, and the average package offered was around 5-6 Lakhs per annum. Top recruiting companies were Puma, Adidas, Yoho, and a few other companies.
Infrastructure: There?s full time wifi available for digital purposes. Footwear Labs has the best machines. The machines are brought from Italy and are maintained. The hostel is pretty good. The food is simple and suits all kinds of people, like North/South. We have a nice ground and a temple as well.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers are qualified and very helpful. They provide you with the best and give a lot of ideas and support. The course curriculum is great and relevant and makes students all set. The semester exams are medium level, but the practicals need to be perfect for the jury.
Other: Footwear course is very rare in India, at least as per my knowledge. This is the best college in Asia for a footwear course. They provide knowledge and a lot of other events. Annual fests happen every year with other colleges invited.

I would not recommend this college.
Placements: Placements at this college are not good. For our seniors in the fashion design department, they were providing placements mostly in the retail sector. Only 3–4 seniors got placed in a design house. The highest salary package offered was 4.5 LPA, and the lowest was 1.5 LPA. Most people need to find jobs by themselves.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available. Classrooms are also good and spacious. A library is also available, but it is not always open during college hours. Hostel rooms are good, spacious, and three-seaters. There are two girls' hostels. There is no canteen. For small things, we have to go outside. Mess food is manageable. The condition of washrooms is pretty bad. They clean the rooms once a week only.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified and knowledgeable. Most of them are from NIFT. They don't have enough faculty. One person is in charge of three or four subjects. The course curriculum is relevant. It makes students industry-ready. Passing exams here is not that difficult. No one ever fails.
Other: I chose this because I always thought I could do my best in this field. The best part about this course is that you can do whatever you want because it is entirely up to your imagination how you want to showcase this or that. Events are conducted here. They don't provide much exposure for students.

Good faculty members along with neat hostel rooms, mess and canteen are provided by the college.
Placements: Average package of the recent placements was around 7.5 Lacs. You can get placed as a retailer or a designer. The students having above 8 and 9 CGPA get to sit in the placements first. If you are confident enough then obviously you will get selected.
Infrastructure: It is really good. The faculty members here are very friendly, they will help you out with everything. The hostel rooms and mess are also good. Infrastructure is also good here having separate buildings for each course. There's a lawn along with a sports complex for you to play.
Faculty: The teaching quality here is great. They will provide you all the notes, diagrams and will guide you through your semester. The semester end exams are not so tough if you prepare well. Interesting subjects like photography, video shooting, designing for your products/dresses, etc. are included in the course.
Other: I chose my course (leather, lifestyle and product designing ) because I was interested in doing product designing. If you want to do job as a retailer then you can choose this course here. The other courses are fashion design and footwear design. Extra curricular sports and cultural week are held for a week every year. Events are really good here.

Satisfied with the faculty but hoping for better placements.
Placements: 40% of students were placed in my course. The highest package is unknown but the average pay is 15–16k for freshers. Top recruiting companies include retail conglomerates like Aditya Birla, Reliance, and a few renowned boutiques in the city. 60% of students got internship from my course in companies like Da Milano, Ritu Kumar of reliance, Uniqlo, etc. Most of the students went for off-campus since there were more opportunities. Since I'm in department of fashion design, the roles offered were in retail brands and few off-campus roles like fashion stylists, assistant designers, merchandising, etc.
Infrastructure: Almost all the facilities like library, IT lab, CAD lab, AC classrooms, Wi-Fi, etc. are available. The canteen is available too. It's a huge and wide-spread campus across many acres of land. The campus includes hostels for females and faculty quarters, mess (open for both students and hostelers), basketball court, cricket lawn, etc.
Faculty: The teachers were very helpful regarding the assignments and projects. Pretty knowledgeable about the subject and qualified enough. The curriculum is definitely course-relevant, providing students with the knowledge needed for the course and making them industry-ready. Coming to the difficult level, it's sometimes moderate and sometimes tough but never easy. One has to be thorough with the subject since the corrections are pretty tough. The pass percentage is above 50%.
Other: The cultural fest is held twice a year and the fashion shows are held frequently for the fashion design department. The graduation fashion show is an amazing one; it gets better every year. The 4th year students basically take up interested students to model for them for the graduation fashion show. We can also participate in fashion shows at other colleges as designers and models.
