I must suggest you join the college only to complete your B.Tech because it's very tough to get a campus placement in this college.

Our college is worth the money paid.
Placements: The placement rate is not very good. Trident, Arodek, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Cognizant, etc., visit our college.
Infrastructure: All labs are air-conditioned and good. They have all the equipment. Our college has a common room for indoor games. It has an auditorium, a canteen, etc. The boys' hostel is not in our college. Its fee is Rs. 2,000 per month. It is around 1.5-2 km away from our college. There is a mess. It provides single occupancy rooms. The transport facility is available in our college.
Faculty: Faculty members are good. Most of them are helpful. We have to study ourselves. We must not rely upon college studies. The syllabus is not up to date. The syllabus is set by MAKAUT.
Other: Our college conducts a lot of fests and functions. Our course fee is Rs. 6,000 per semester. It is good.

Our college is very good.
Placements: Almost 50% of students got placed in our college. The highest salary package offered is 21 LPA. The average salary package offered is 7 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 2.8 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Infosys, TCS, Aerotek, Cognizant, etc. Almost 40% of students got internships in different companies.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good. Our college provides us with all facilities. Our department is good. Labs are equipped with air-conditioners. Our college is Wi-Fi enabled. A huge library is available in our college. The hostels are very good and huge. The food served in the hostel is good compared to other hostels.
Faculty: Our teachers are helpful. They are well-qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is good. The course curriculum is relevant. They organise training in other departments like mechanical, electrical, and textile. They make students industry-ready. Semester exams are very difficult. The pass percentage is 40%.
Other: I opted for this course to become a computer engineer. They should improve our communication skills. Many events and fests are held in our college. Our institute has developed well-equipped laboratories. They have various featured lab machines.

A decent college if you want to do B.Tech. at around INR 52,000.
Placements: In 2022, more than 50 percent got recruited, and this is also nearly the average recruitment every year from the computer science division. Unfortunately, placements are not very convincing and depend entirely on a student's credit and skills. If you are qualified, of course you will get a job; nothing comes without hard work. Average package offered in 2022 was around INR 3 LPA, the highest package was INR 10 LPA. The main recruiting companies in our college are IBM, Wipro, Infosys, Oracle, Cognizant, HCL, Hitachi, Voltas, Dystar, L&T Infotech, etc. Nearly 75 percent of the students get internships every year from their third year on. The top jobs offered are software engineering, web development, etc.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi services are available in colleges. The labs are in average working condition; do not expect to pursue a B.Tech. from here without your own personal computer (preferably a laptop). Classrooms are in good condition with whiteboard facilities (2nd year onwards). The college library has loads of books to refer to for different core and side courses. The hostel is in very good condition. However, you get hostel facilities only in your second year, and there is no hostel facility for girls. Food is cheap and affordable. Medical and emergency facilities are managed by the staff. Annual sports and games are held on hostel grounds, along with occasional recreational games.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and knowledgeable. Teachers are strict in their domain for the good of the students. If you can follow your teachers' guidance and excel in your core subjects, you will surely be qualified for a job. Our college is affiliated with Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), which is a good and reputed university. So yes, the course curriculum is obviously relevant. Semester exams, and also the mid-semester exams, are set by our university, and they are around average to hard level, mainly depending on who sets the questions and how they are selected from the university.
Other: I personally prefer the B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering course because computer science is the future. Day by day, we are witnessing the growth and expansion of this field in different aspects. So I think, the knowledge of computer science is important enough to master. Our college provides decent facilities to get a B.Tech degree in CSE, but I would still recommend improvement of labs and other infrastructure, and seasonal brainstorming with innovative ideas for students as a part of the curriculum. For example, tech fest, innovative projects, etc. Loads of events are held in our college, drawing crowds like moths to fire. Saraswati Puja, is one of the biggest events held annually. There is also the college fest Alfresco, a very important event. The only sad part is that students have to pay huge subscription fees to promote these events.

Review of Government College of Engineering and Textile Technology, Berhampore.
Placements: Students from our department who are a bit serious about getting a job, one way or the other, should find some path to get at least a job. Around 90% to 95% of students get jobs. The highest salary package offered till now is 7 LPA to 8 LPA, which is off-campus.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is not good. After COVID, classrooms are good with fans and air conditioners, but for the lab facility, you've got to rely on your own laptop. The government has spent crores of rupees on Wi-Fi, but you have to use your mobile hotspot while you work on your laptop in college. The library also consists of 20-year-old books of no use. As technology is changing every day, our library doesn't have any books from recent years. Every room is quite spacious with 2 or 3 beds, a wardrobe, a chair, a table, and multiple fans. The condition of the rooms is good according to government college standards.
Faculty: Our course curriculum is very good, but good teachers are needed to make students understand a topic. If you're someone who wishes to be taught by some of the great faculty members and build great knowledge, GCETTB is certainly not a place for you. Our HOD and placement officer are not good. I was recently selected for an interview at a good company and was the only one in our college to get selected for the final interview. Because of the negligence of our placement officer, I did not receive the interview call letter.
Other: I chose this course only for the purpose of getting a job in the IT field. I was in Textile Technology in my first year and eventually changed it to Computer Science and Engineering due to my lack of interest in that subject. The mechanical and electrical departments are not good here. For jobs, you've got to work hard yourself and don't expect any help from your faculty members. We need 75% attendance. You can only come here if you don't have money, a good rank, and can get your engineering done at a low cost. Otherwise, I'd encourage you to make connections with seniors and classmates. If you're a smart person or want some good placements with good campus life, do not join here.

Faculty members and the seniors are perk of the college.
Placements: As per the last year, the placement of CSE was above average. A lot of pool campus as well as on campus happened. MNC like Cognizant hired for GenC, GenC elevate, GenC Pro and GenC Next roles. In off campus people got placed in IBM, Infosys, Persistent as well as some start ups also. If you are serious enough and learn things properly, with the help of the faculty and seniors you can ace the placements.
Infrastructure: The computers of some of the labs are slow and not working properly (due to the long time not using it properly during the lockdown). People use to carry their own laptops in the labs. The classrooms are modern with projectors facility, proper bathrooms are in the college. The internet speed in the lab is horrible. Hostel is a good place to be for fun of the college life. They organise a lot of fun activities also the hostel charges are very low, the food of the hostel is also good and they organise a lot of sporting events specially volleyballs.
Faculty: One thing that is great about the college is the faculty of CSE. They teach and know very well. If you show interest then they have time to teach you even advanced parts. But yes, there is one faculty in CSE who does not take classes even after talking to the Officer in Charge. The course curriculum is relevant as it is one of the most wanted degree for the it industry. Also the exam cell of the college is very much active they take the exams seriously. The semester exams are conducted by the MAKAUT, but yes it is easy to pass .
Other: The seniors are the most helpful persons in the college. So make a bond with them.

The campus is small, and the placements are good.
Placements: Almost 70% of students got placed in our course. The highest salary package offered is 20 LPA. The average salary package offered is 10 LPA. Top recruiting companies are TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, etc. About 50% of students get internships in 3rd year.
Infrastructure: The facilities are average. Due to the lockdown, the facilities and infrastructure got degraded. Wi-Fi is only present in the students' common rooms. Laboratories are decent. Classrooms are big and have better technologies. The library was last upgraded in 2015.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified in their respective subjects. They are helpful. The course curriculum is relevant and makes students industry-ready. Semester exams in this college are moderate. The invigilation is average. The passing percentage is 40%.
Other: I opted for this course because I want to solve the problems faced in the computer science field.
