Review about Government College Of Engineering, Bodinayakkanur.
Placements: The placement in other departments is a little bit better than our department this year. Most of the companies in the placement drive are startup companies. The salary package ranges from 3.5 LPA to 4.5 LPA. Some of the top recruiting companies are TCS and Infosys. Internships through the college are very rare this year (2024).
Infrastructure: As the college is maintained by the government, it has a decent infrastructure and good laboratory facilities. Wi-fi is available inside the college and it has a well-stocked library with a decent number of books. Hostel food is poor, and the accommodation facility is average. Mess and canteen infrastructure is average. Sports and indoor stadium facilities are available and are well maintained by the college.
Faculty: Faculty members are good and they help us in our academics. The teaching quality is average and there is a minimal amount of career-related content in the academic syllabus. The curriculum is not completely relevant to our career or job. The semester exams are at Anna University, Chennai and they are easy to pass.

Do check out this review about Government Engineering College, Then.
Placements: The placement opportunities for the civil department are always good. The highest salary package offered is around 2.5 to 3.5 LPA. All the students from my batch in my department got internship opportunities this year. Top recruiting companies are L&T and Tata Projects Limited. The placement opportunities in other departments are average, especially for the Computer Science and ECE departments.
Infrastructure: The college has a well-maintained campus. The infrastructure is good, and there is Wi-Fi available inside the college campus. The food in the hostel is acceptable but not excellent. Good laboratory facilities are available in all the departments. The hostel infrastructure is good. The mess and the canteen provide good food. There is minimal importance given to sports and other co-curricular activities.
Faculty: The faculty members are experienced, and they support the students a lot in getting internships and job opportunities. The teaching quality of the staff is excellent. The university curriculum is completely relevant to our future in my department. The semester exams are conducted two times in an academic year, and they can be cleared with good grades easily.
