Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering - Batch of 2023

Satisfied with academics but not with the accounts division.
Placements: Students got placed as junior research assistants at DRDO and HAL. As far as I have found out, many students who graduated with a Diploma in aeronautics have got jobs in places such as DRDO, HAL, etc., mainly as junior research assistant scientists. But I believe that new startups and other companies would hire as well. But I prefer to proceed and get a B.Tech in aerospace as that has more scope.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is certainly not the worst. There's a library. All classrooms have projectors, and most of the classes are done with presentations and PDFs. There is a hanger with a few aircrafts that are used for practical studies and to learn the mechanism of an aircraft.
Faculty: If you understand what's taught in the class, then you don't have to worry about your grades. Since you understand what's said in classes, you would not have a problem explaining theories in viva or papers.
Other: I chose this course out of passion. Due to covid, the college had stopped conducting events.

I Really enjoyed studying at Hindustan aviation Academy. I was very much satisfied with the campus.
Placements: Placements for our senior batch was good. We had got companies like kingfisher airlines quest global coming in for recruitment of students. Some of my friends worked in kingfisher airlines and quest global. And some now have started working in indigo airlines. So coming for the placements its pretty good.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure for the college is awesome with many variety of labs in aeronautics department. We have got quite big classrooms with cameras installed in every class room. The. College has one hanger which consist of 4 aircrafts which is a learjet 2 cessana and a HT2 aircraft. Inside the campus we have got a small canteen too where u get variety of food. College have got a quite big library where students can refer all types of books on their interested subjects.
Faculty: We had got a very good faculty all experienced persons. Some were retired airforce people and some were retired pilots. Their teaching was helpful for us. They shared all their work experience with us apart from book to gain us more knowledge they help us in all possible way they can. So I feel the course curriculum was amazing.
Other: We conducted all types of events like freshers to farewell. College fest. Fashion shows dance singing.

Disappointment in the case of faculty and campus.
Placements: Placements were promised at the beginning of my course. But later on, placements seemed to be a dream. Placements from 6 to 8 companies were promised, but it ended up with only one. Students who were recruited in this company also were not happy as they were treated badly.
Infrastructure: Labs are in good condition. They can be used properly to gain knowledge. But the classrooms and other facilities are not up to the mark. The first day after admission, they take diploma students to MBA building, which has good infrastructure. But later on, we came to know that we were never mentioned to be in that building.
Faculty: Faculty were good until 2014. Then all the good teachers resigned due to some issues. Now, some teachers do not have experience in taking classes. All the teachers are freshers. We had a shortage of teachers during our batch. We had to study CADD by ourselves.
Other: Don't ever think about events, because it is never going to happen. Annual day functions are regularly conducted which is not up to the mark.

Worst management with money making people, not satisfied with the faculty and no 100% placements.
Placements: I am studying automobile in this college, and the placements are good here. Here, 50% of our seniors got placed in many companies like Volkswagen, Toyota, Mahindra etc. About the internships, our batch had Toyota for the internship. All the students get an internship certificate after completing their training, but it's not through as the college students have to pay for the internship. The salary package given to our seniors ranged between Rs 80,000 to Rs. 1,20,000 per annum.
Infrastructure: There is no Wi-Fi available here. A library is available with updated curriculum books, recent magazine, and newspapers. Also, classrooms here are okay with no medical facility. This college also conducts an annual sports day during February and March of every year. Labs are not with a good facility as only the basic equipment is available, but not as per the university and only follows 50% of it. The college canteen does provide good food. There is a hostel available here with the hostel fees being a bit too high. Also, the canteen here is same for the college and the hostel.
Faculty: The faculty is very good, and the department head is student friendly. It also provides good information about what are the ongoing issues, but the faculty will be kept on changing, which bothers students, Its management recruits only the fresher which will be difficult for students to go through the syllabus. Here, 10:1 is the student to faculty ratio.
Other: This college holds an annual function after short events. The surrounding area will be crowded all the time with some type of market. There is no college scholarship provided to the students.

An insight into my three years at Hindustan Aviation Academy aka ( Hindustan Electronics Academy).
Placements: I was promised that placements were good, and companies like Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda recruited the candidates. It was true till my batch had arrived at the final year of the year 2015-2016. At the last minute, after our finals, we were informed that the placements were cancelled because they had cancelled the contract with our college. We did doubt this matter at the start of the semester itself, but when we confronted the chairman, he denied saying that it is still under contract with the Volkswagen group.
Infrastructure: The practical labs are well-equipped, and there's no denying that. The washrooms are disgusting. Sports activities are a letdown. The quality of the food in the canteen is not very satisfactory. Most of the students go out for their meals. The girls hostel is right on the campus, but the men's hostel is almost half a kilometre outside the college campus, and they have come back to the campus for their canteen meals. The only issue that I faced during my college years were with the placements. We were not even given a chance for the placements due to the sudden cancellation of the contract with the Volkswagen group. The management is very money minded and looks for even the slightest faults in the students to slap a huge fine on them. It's near impossible to get a project support fund from the college for the final year projects.
Faculty: The teachers up to the year 2016 were very helpful in the academics and would even engage with the students during free hours and converse with us. Even during issues with the management, our teachers used to support us. Although the syllabus recommends more theory classes than practical classes, teachers used to take us to the practical labs during theory hours and give us a better view of the concept.
Other: There are no events held here other than the syllabus. An annual intra-college fest is held where even the students will not show up because it will probably be a huge let down every year. The sports day is not very enthusiastic as they hold the sports day almost 20 kilometres away from the college at YMCA ground where almost seventy-five percent of the students don't show up because of the transportation inconvenience and no arrangements are made for the students.

It was a great college. I am satisfied with the college, right infrastructure with excellent labs.
Placements: The placements were good for our seniors. When kingfishers airlines were operating many got selected. During my batch two companies had come, one is quest global, and another is indigo airlines. There were several departments in our college. In an automobile, we had Skoda, Audi company for recruiting students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is just awesome. The college was built on a 2-acre land. We had high labs to learn. We had aircraft engine lab, electronics lab, automobile lab, NDT lab, machine shop and a computer lab. We had 4 aircrafts in our college; those are Learjet, 2 Cessna and an HT2. We had pretty good classrooms. We had a small canteen; they used to cook pretty well.
Faculty: I did my diploma in aeronautical engineering. The faculty members, I came across were excellent and friendly. Some faculty were retired airforce, people they always tried to make us best, shared their experience with us. Their way of teaching was good they still took us to the aircraft and explained us each topic very well, so we can have a bright idea what they taught us. We had a good relation with our faculty. I am very thankful to them.
