Q:   How does the placement cell for B.A. at Isabella Thoburn Degree College assist students in getting placed?

    A:
    {Source: B.A. students & alumni}

Placement Cell Assistance for BA Students

Based on the reviews provided by students and alumni, here's how the Placement Cell at Isabella Thoburn Degree College assists BA students:

    * Limited scope: According to several reviewers, the Placement Cell does not offer significant assistance in securing jobs for BA students. While some recruiters may visit the campus occasionally, the scope of selection is limited.

    * Self-initiative required: Some students noted that even if they did manage to secure a job or internship, it often involved personal efforts outside of the Placement Cell's initiatives.

    * Low salary packages: Those who did land a job reported receiving relatively low salary packages, which may impact their post-graduation plans.

In summary, while the Placement Cell exists, it appears to have limited effectiveness in assisting BA students in securing employment or higher education opportunities. Students are advised to explore alternative options and consider taking proactive steps to further their careers.

Though the college had no placement cell until last year, a few students got placed in South Indian Bank, and paid internships were offered in Lucknow Management Association.

It provides great teachers, but I am not satisfied with its infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: Placements cell is not well managed, and has less scope for students to grab a job directly after getting graduated from this college. It needs immense work on the placements cell for the growth of its students and to become a renowned college.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure are minimal. There is no Wi-Fi facility, and the library is not up to date. The hostel rooms are not what a student would look forward to living in, but the food is average. It is manageable for a year or two. The canteen is in work earlier but now non-functional so, there is no source of food in this college.
Faculty: Faculty members are helpful, and the classes are conducted regularly. All the professors are well qualified in their respective fields and they are highly knowledgeable. They do not step back from helping the students at most times which is something I like. The semester exams are difficult and makes students ready for the real-world. The pass percentage is 45%.
Other: I chose B.A. because I wanted to pursue a career in psychology, and this college offered both of my favourite subjects English and Psychology and promised a highly educated faculty members that is true to its word. The department can put a little work into imparting practical knowledge to the students. Our college provides scholarships programs and a few extracurricular activities to keep the students busy.

I am satisfied with the faculty but dissatisfied with the hostel facility and rules.
Placements: It is a normal degree college and doesn't provide any specific placements. However, students get certain opportunities to contribute their experience as a content writer. Usually, some small role jobs that offer a salary package of around 2 LPA were offered by this college. They were provided by the career cell of the college.
Infrastructure: To be very honest, the hostel was not so good and also the quality of food needs a lot of improvement. No proper medical facility was provided by the hostels. However, the canteen food was better than the food served in the mess. The infrastructure was too old and needs renovation.
Faculty: Teachers in our college were very helpful, well-qualified, and knowledgeable. However, at times, they seem rude in their dealings. The degree courses make the students well-versed in a particular field but this absolutely depends on the students whether they attend the classes regularly or not.
Other: The college was good for its curriculum, events, fests, and campus surrounding. However, they need to focus a lot of attention on the sanitation of washrooms being a girls' college.

Not that bad. 6.5/10. Great for the minimal fee .
Placements: There is a placement cell, but it is extremely underwhelming. The placement is terrible. However, if the student approached their professor personally, that may be a better option to find an internship or job since the professors have good resources. There are many workshops every now and then and students may avail themselves of them to build their skills.
Infrastructure: I would rate it 3.5. Hostel : I have heard there are ups and downs. Sometimes cheated water is not available, etc. But overall, the hostellers like living there. It is peaceful and fun with friends. The Wi-Fi is fine. Labs are a bit rough but they get the work done smoothly. The classrooms are okay, as surveyed by CCTV for security. The library is good; students can come in at any time and read novels to relax or look up good literary material for their studies.
Faculty: Teachers are definitely very knowledgeable. The teaching is the good old writing notes method. Old, but effective. The course has been kept up to date and the professors make sure it is relevant. The preparation for the overall college life, exams and social life definitely prepares the student for industry. The mid-terms are fairly easy and negotiable. They matter only for personal progress and bachelorette awards. You will easily pass and if you don't, you can definitely ask the professor for a re-test.
Other: I chose B.A. because I want to go into the civil service. The best thing about my course is that it is very lenient. Attendance is not an issue. Exams are simple. Overall, it was very smooth. I do wish we had better placement, a better canteen and better washroom facilities. Regarding the course, I wish for trips out of the city. Currently, there is one educational trip within the city per year and it is great. Events are awesome. Christmas activities take me back to school memories. Campus crowds are mixed, which helps us deal with real-life crowds. Connectivity is amazing. It is in the heart of the city and very close to some great cafes and malls. Very close to the metro station, which is amazing! A scholarship is given to the EWS. Every Thursday, there is a spirit value class.

This institution is for social change.
Placements: Around 85 to 99% of students are placed. Everything is good in this college. Voice Process, HCL, Sparity, and Avantha are the top recruiting companies. Around 85% of students get internships from our campus. Healthcare business analyst, investment banking analyst, voice work, and fashion consultant fresher are the roles offered.
Infrastructure: This college has adequate infrastructure and facilities. These include well ventilated spacious classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, ramps for differently able, canteens serving hygienic food, aquaguard water coolers for drinking water, seminar halls, ICT enabled smart classes, LCD projectors, a well-stocked library, a bank, and an adequate number of hygienic washrooms.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful. This course curriculum is relevant, and students can look for jobs or opt for higher education such as a post-graduate degree in any of the areas where B.A. has been completed. It does make the students' industry ready. Semester exams are moderate. The pass percentage is 55%.
Other: I wanted to pursue B.A. so I opted for a B.A. program that allows students to study various combinations of subjects. It is popular among those interested in civil services. It can also be a good option for those who cannot get through an honors course of their choice because of the high cut-off.

It is one of the best colleges in Lucknow.
Placements: This is my first year, and I have not seen any placements till now, so I have no idea about it. But I hope that it will be good in providing placements and packages. There is an MBA department in our college, which is started earlier, and in that department, there are very good placements and packages.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good. The conditions of the classrooms are good, and the furniture is of good quality. There is a proper light system. The library has all types of books, and it also has holy and scriptures books. There is a free Wi-Fi connection for students and a daily newspaper. The condition of the hostel is average, and the mess serves average food.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are knowledgeable and sincere. They are always ready to help us at any time. The course curriculum is good and relevant. Our teachers also help us in learning new things, and they help us in our progress by encouraging us when we get nervous.
Other: I have chosen this course because of my preparation for civil servants. I have opted for a course that has a combination of geography and English, which will be helpful in UPSC. The fee of the college is not too much, and it is affordable. If you are eligible for scholarships, then you will definitely get your fee back.

Placements: 2to 4 children in my batch got only placed Percentage for internship is low in Bachelor in comparison to Masters. Lots of students in my batch didn't get placement in my course si can say that college is not having good placement programme and internship also.
Infrastructure: College has Wi-Fi labs are Fully equipped. Hostels is well furnished but tables need improvement water facility, drawingroom and fooding is appreciated. Hostels also organises lots of events special dinner night before Christmas was memorable. Classrooms are well-equipped .
Faculty: Yes teachers are helpful except some. But all teachers are qualified and knowledgeable. Overall course was good but there was difficult in practical they burden students with lots of assignments and practical work with internal and midsem so it get really hectic .
Other: Events were very exciting here specially college fest.
