Commonly asked questions
On Application Process

Q:   Is NEET PG tougher than NEET?

A:

Yes. NEET PG is hard in comparison to NEET. The reason being NEET PG is postgraduate level exam while NEET is conducted at undergraduate level. Another reason is, there are lesser number of PG seats than MBBS seats for candidates. Managing time for NEET PG preparation for candidates is very difficult task as they have to manage college, internship and preparation all three together. In NEET PG, competition is among best minds who all are doctors.

Subjectwise also NEET PG is tough as candidates have to prepare more than 15 subjects while in NEET only 4 subjects are there. In nutshell, NEET PG is tougher as it tests knowledge of candidates at postgraduate level while NEET is just an entry level of exam for MBBS.

On Admission

Q:   Who conducts the NEET UG exam?

A:

NEET UG exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). NTA has been conducting NEET since 2019. Prior to that, the exam was conducted by CBSE. The role of NTA is to conduct the application process, release the admit card, conduct the exam across centres, declaration of answer keys and result. The counselling process is conducted separately by national and state authorities for the All India Quota and State Quota seats. While NTA is the conducting authority, the National Medical Commission (NMC) acts as a consulting authority for NEET for NTA. Factors such as syllabus and eligibility criteria are formulated and revised by NMC and NTA announces those on its official website, on behalf of NMC.

Q:   When should I start taking NEET mock test for JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research?

A:

NEET mock test should be taken after the basic preparation is over and the entire syllabus has been covered. Taking mock test after NEET preparation will help students gauge their preparation level and also guide them on which sections or topics need extra emphasis. There is another pattern of taking mock tests, after completing each subject or chapter. This would help students understand their hold on each subject or section. Generally students start taking full fledged NEET mock tests or NEET prep questions around three to four months before the exam, once the complete preparation is over.

Best college for research, good infrastructure, and well-equipped labs.
Placements: As being a medical college, there are no placement facilities like other colleges. But there is more chance of getting placed in a company or industry after passing out from here. Teachers will refer students to companies or industries for a job after their studies.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is superb. The building is nice and well-planned with good architecture. The campus is also nice and eco-friendly. Classrooms are very spacious, and there is a very big auditorium. The college has two libraries: one is the main library, and the other is the digital library. The Wi-Fi connection is good, and anyone can use it.
Faculty: Faculty members are well-trained, and they have good academics. Almost all the faculty members are Ph.D. holders. They teach nicely, and they are student-friendly. They support very well. All the classrooms are connected with PPT. Semester exams are a little difficult but not that hard to pass. One thing is, you need to score 50% in internals to qualify for semester exams, and you need to have 50% to pass the semester exam.

Very happy and satisfied with faculties and really good infrastructure. I loved it.
Placements: I have not yet completed my course for my placement experience, but I have heard from my seniors that there are good placement opportunities, including opportunities abroad and at JSS Hospital itself. I am so proud that I have chosen JSS Medical College for a better future.
Infrastructure: The overall infrastructure is the best; the faculties are direct to us; they help us in every manner; they explain in details; and most important, the PowerPoint they make and study is so clear and makes us concentrated; everyone is given the opportunity to keep their thoughts based on the topics.
Faculty: The teachers have the best knowledge in point of studies; they just not help us in studies; they teach us the best manner in the surroundings; the best qualities a student should have; they help us to remove our stage fear that the university paper is bit difficult the passing marks are 40% and the average is from the internals.
Other: Actually, it was my dream to study at JSS Medical College, and my parents supported me in my decision. Telling about the campus, it's nature friendly; there's much more greenery everywhere; you see the cleanliness; the discipline each and everyone has is the best. There are sports meets also on the medical campus, where we enjoy and learn lots of things.

Actually, the infrastructure has to be improved.
Placements: No placements. Actually, the internships and job placement has to be done by us only. It would be nice if they provide placements so that we could get a job nicely and do our work. For internships, we have to search for hospitals on our own. So it has to be improved.
Infrastructure: No big infrastructure. I stay in PG that’s outside of the campus. Infrastructure has to be improved. We don’t get classrooms as such for us only. We’ll have to shift from one class to another with other years. Hope this will be completely confidential.
Faculty: Teaching is fine only. It depends on teachers. Some teachers are top-notch quality while others are bare minimum. The curriculum is fine only; we can get a full idea about it. They provide extra electives to get a more clear idea about the course. Exams are also held as per the module.

Review of JSS Medical College, JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research.
Placements: All the students have to attend an internship in the hospital for one year , passing which they are allowed to give a NEET examination. More than half of the students get offered jobs in various institutions as post graduates . During internships, you have to attend night duties as well.
Infrastructure: There are various classrooms and different buildings for separate courses like life sciences , MBBS, BS, etc. There are 2 libraries, one of which is a digital library, both with high-quality wifi . Hostel mess is good, though only vegetarian food is served.
Faculty: Faculty is very helpful and qualified. 3 students are allocated with one mentor who helps them with any of the questions they have. The curriculum is more practical-based and helps dealing with the patients. Semester exams are quite difficult, though most of the students are able to pass.

Good curriculum and facilities.
Placements: 80% of students were placed in my course. The highest salary is 3 lakhs, the lowest is 25,000, and the average is 80,000. I don’t know the specific companies, but all students are posted at the same hospital of JSS for internships. Laboratory scientist is the top role based on my knowledge.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is free all over the college. Classrooms are super clean with fans and some have AC. The library is excellent with ample space. The hostel is good with around 1 lakh per year, providing vegetarian food. The canteen is spacious with good hygiene. Medical facilities include a health card for each student, with free consultation and medicine from JSS hospital. Sports are conducted yearly, and an outdoor gym is also available.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified, mostly doctors. Teaching quality varies, but the curriculum is effective. Semester exams are neither too difficult nor too easy; scoring well in internals can help pass. The passing percentage is 60%.
Other: I chose this course because I like working in the medical field without much patient interaction, and MLT fits well. The work is not too hard since machines are mostly used. We start postings from the second year, which helps us become familiar with the field by the time we graduate. The course could benefit from more instruction on machines and their usage. Events and fests are rare but enjoyable. The campus is spacious, not crowded, and surrounded by neat and calm greenery.

Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure of JSS Medical College are very well maintained and developed. The college management provides high-quality educational facilities to its students. The campus has Wi-Fi, medical labs, a library, a canteen, and sports facilities. Hostel facilities are also available for students.
Faculty: The teachers here are really helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They make sure students understand all the concepts. The faculty is highly experienced in teaching. The course curriculum is relevant, ensuring students are industry-ready. Exams are of a hard difficulty level.
