Q:   Is BDS at KD Dental College and Hospital a good choice?

    A:
    {Source: BDS students & alumni}

Based on the reviews and feedback from current students and alumni, here's a summary of the pros and cons:

    Pros:

    * Good clinical exposure: The college has a busy outpatient department (OPD) with a constant flow of patients, providing valuable hands-on experience for students.
    * Well-equipped labs and classrooms: The college has modern facilities, including air-conditioned classrooms, projectors, and well-equipped labs with essential materials.
    * Helpful faculty: Teachers are knowledgeable, supportive, and willing to help students understand concepts well.
    * Decent hostel facilities: Hostels are in good condition, and the food served is decent.
    * High earning potential: With a BDS degree, graduates can earn around INR1 Lacs per month.
    * Good opportunities abroad: The scope of dentistry is high both in India and internationally.

    Cons:

    * Poor placement record: The college doesn't have a strong placement cell, and students often rely on setting up their own clinics or joining hospitals themselves.
    * Limited job opportunities: While the salary range is high, job opportunities within India might be limited.
    * Irresponsible college administration: Some students have reported issues with the administration, such as delays in conducting examinations and charging exorbitant examination fees.
    * Average infrastructure: Although some areas of the college have good infrastructure, others are lacking (e.g., the library).

Overall, while BDS at KD Dental College and Hospital has its drawbacks, the benefits of good clinical exposure, helpful faculty, and high earning potential outweigh the negatives. It's essential for prospective students to weigh these factors carefully before making an informed decision.

KD Dental College is better now than before.
Placements: In my class, there are 89 students right now. During the internship, the college gives 2000 rupees per month to the students. The placement system is poor; there are no companies that come to hire; you have to set up your own clinic. From what I know, many students have established their own clinics in their cities, and it is going really well. As a dentist, you can easily earn 1 lakh per month. The college provides the knowledge and practice for that.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is okay, though it feels small. The classes are also okay; there is an AC in class but it doesn't work properly. The library is poor. The teaching staff is well-educated, and the hostels are also good, but the food quality is not that great. The canteen is nice.
Faculty: The teaching staff is well-educated; they have completed BDS, MS, and higher degrees. They teach very well. However, in the end, you have to study hard because it's not an easy course. The college conducts 3 internal exams per year for practice, and the university exam is held once, which is the main exam. The college doesn't easily pass you in internal exams, so study well.
Other: I chose BDS because it makes you self-independent after just the BDS degree, and after MS, you become a specialist and can earn lakhs per month. As dental students, we don't want to study medical subjects; we want to study only dental subjects, not medical.

Review of KD Dental College and Hospital.
Placements: You can open your clinic after BDS or MS courses. You can apply for army dental cops or as a lecturer, or as a doctor in any hospital. You can serve in a government hospital after completing your course.
Infrastructure: Our department has Wi-Fi. The hostel has 14 hostels. Wi-Fi facility is available in the library. Classrooms don't have Wi-Fi. They provide separate workers on every floor of the hostel. Washrooms and bathrooms are not much hygienic. The food served in the mess and canteen is good. Medical facilities are available in our college. They conduct sports and games every week.
Faculty: Teachers are knowledgeable and helpful. They conduct 2 sessional exams and PU every year. In sessional exams, the least marks are given. Almost 75% of attendance is mandatory. The pass percentage is 35%. Exams are not easy.
Other: I opted for this course because it has a good scope, and its scope is increasing every year. BDS requires knowledge and hand skills. It is a very interesting course. Fests are held every year. Multiple competitions are conducted in our college. Our college is surrounded by greenery. Our college has located on the highway near the Prem Mandir.

Satisfied because of teachers and my friends.
Placements: If I talk about KD Dental College Mathura, it's an average college, especially for those students who can't afford higher-fee institutions. Nowadays, 65% of students are opting for BDS. See, there's no limit to the highest package. It's totally up to your skills. Your skills decide your package. 90% of students got internships from this college. The biggest drawback of this college is management. The management doesn't perform their work properly. There's no society or committee who can handle social affairs. But study is quite average and yes, teachers are cooperative.
Infrastructure: There are air-conditioned classes. Wi-Fi is fully available but only the hostel has 24 hours of electricity. But the food of mess is very bad. The quality is not at all good. Many students face the problem of food poisoning. There are sports events every year.
Faculty: Yes, teachers are highly qualified and really very understanding and helping. The exams are quite tough. Our internals are held every 3rd month. And the university exams occur annually. This course is completely relevant. After all, you'll be going to become a doctor.
Other: I chose this course because I was unable to crack NEET UG with the sufficient percentage required for MBBS.

Campus is good, faculty and facilities not up to the mark, college authority is very irresponsible.
Placements: The stipend given by college is 1,500 or less. Salary for BDS doctor is as per the job and skills. It may vary from 30,000 to 1,30000 per month. One can set up his own clinic and also go for government jobs. The scope in dentistry is very high in india as well as out of india.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good, the campus has good greenery. Every hostel has 14-15 Wi-Fi. In college every department and library has it's own Wi-Fi. Mess food is good and canteen food is very expensive with very few variety in food. Medical support is given by college but student is charged 50% of total treatment.
Faculty: Exams are conducted late. 5 year course is completed in 6-7 years. Some teachers are very irresponsible. Students have to study by there own. Semester exams are conducted according to the questions asked in precious years by the university. All over academics is not that hard.
Other: Examination fees charged by university is 6000 but the college takes 15,000. Stipend as given by government is 15,000 per head but the college gives only 1,500. The college authorities are very irresponsible. The university exams are held 5-6 months late. I don't know how the state government does not know these things going under there nose.

Our college provides good knowledge at a reasonable expenditure.
Placements: I don't know much about placements here because I am in the first year. But I heard that the clinical practice is very good as the OPD of the hospital is always full of patients, and the students get good exposure to the clinical work. Clinical work matters most in dentistry.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is fine. Classrooms are provided with air conditioners and projectors. Good lighting is provided. Overall, it has a good environment to study well. Labs are provided with every essential material. Hostels are in good condition, and the food served is of decent quality.
Faculty: Faculty members in our college are better than other colleges. I have talked to multiple students of other colleges who told me that the teachers are not concerned about the student's career in their colleges. They give the lecture and walk out of the room. But in our college teachers ask multiple questions repeatedly to make sure that the student has understood the concept well.

You can take admission if you want according to your requirements.
Placements: Approximately 100 percent of students are placed as doctors in society. The highest earnings are completely dependent on the doctor. There are no top recruiting companies because you will do your own practice. One hundred percent of the students got internships.
Infrastructure: KD Dental College is a reputed institution in dental education that offers a comprehensive BDS program supported by well-developed infrastructure and facilities. The college campus, spread over a sizeable area, provides an environment conducive to both academic and clinical learning.
Faculty: KD Dental College offers decent faculty with knowledgeable professors who are approachable and experienced in their field. The curriculum is well-structured, covering both theoretical and practical aspects of dentistry, although some students feel that it could benefit from more clinical exposure earlier in the course.
Other: Everything is good. Nothing is top of the line.
