Review of KIIT School of Film and Media.
Placements: Our college provides a reference for dedicated students to get placements. Placements are provided depending on the projects of the students. Our college helps students to do any projects.
Infrastructure: There are some issues with the hostel food. Our college has good equipment for cinematography and a TV studio. One big studio is under construction which will be a game changer. The greatest advantage of our college is its location. It has many campuses and various facilities, like indoor to outdoor games, a park, and a swimming pool. All the settings needed are provided for any project.
Faculty: In my 1st year, I learned all the fundamentals of every specialisation then shifted to editing specialisation in the 2nd year. Some faculty members in our college are the best, and some have old standards. Faculty members of our course encouraged students to do experiments, but I was restricted by many rules of filmmaking. Our department is small so the interaction between the teachers and students is good.
Other: I am a foreign student. I chose this course as it is good. Students of our college are not dedicated as they want the college to arrange everything.

An enlightening equanimous experience.
Placements: The work environment in the film industry is different, as it happens on a project basis, not an hourly basis. And those projects—advertising films, feature films, TV serials, or web series—are temporary. So it's not like any production company will come over to the college for placement. Instead, they hire people with immediacy to get their project off the ground. But with the help of supportive teachers, passed-out seniors who are working in the industry, and a friend circle, one can be informed about any vacant roles and get the job. It seems ambiguous, but getting into the industry as a fresh intern is actually not a big deal. A good portfolio helps you present yourself.
Infrastructure: The entire campus has good infrastructure, with Wi-Fi access all around. Due to the trees and plants everywhere, the environment is eco-friendly and gives off an equanimous feeling. There are gardens to hang out in, a luxurious library, and a departmental library that has books on filmmaking to enlighten you about every aspect. We also have a hospital as part of our campus, where a student can get a free health check-up with an ID card, and an ambulance facility in the event of an emergency. Odisha is the sports capital of India, and KIIT has it all, from gyms, swimming pools, chess halls, and indoor games to football and hockey stadiums. Introverts don't care anyway, but you will miss out if you don't explore. Every room in the hostel is cleaned on a daily basis. When you have a morning walk, what you will see is a clean and green campus. A different variety of food is served every day in the hostel, with vegetarian and non-vegetarian variations. The rice they serve could be better, and I avoid onions and garlic. If you too do the same, it can be a matter of concern, but it's tolerable.
Faculty: Every teacher is a wise mentor here. It's less of a film school and more of an ashram. It's been life-changing in my case. My whole perspective on life and the way I used to see films changed. We have very friendly and flexible teachers from top-tier film institutes in India like FTII and SRFTI; I bet they are the coolest ones in the whole university. We have a couple of workshops curated by perfectionists working in the industry; they too are graduates of those top-tier institutes. Exams are not something of a big deal. The curriculum is self-propelled, meaning it's not worth the time if you yourself don't do anything. Work on your own projects. Teachers will be there to help and mentor you. But you have to make use of the facilities and the unique, like-minded personalities who will be studying with you. Perk: We also have an industry tour in the 5th semester, an opportunity to observe the set life and the workspace in Mumbai or Hyderabad and be prepared for it. Our batch went to Mumbai, and it was simply awesome—to contain it in a single word would be impossible.
Other: Contrary to other film institutes, ours is much cheaper. And it runs under a university, an internationally reputed leading one, so there is some value to the degree you get upon completion of the course. What actually matters in the field is your portfolio and understanding, which you will develop if you make productive use of your time here. Procrastination is the biggest enemy of an artist. So just do it. I chose this course because I have wanted to pursue filmmaking since I was a seventh grader. I didn't have any options but to go for this course. My favourite parts were the workshops, the industrial tour, the infrastructure we leveraged for shooting our personal projects, and most importantly, the friends. I don't find myself in a position to say what could be better. If you strive to do something, you will do it anyway, even if there is a dearth of something. But the curriculum could be better structured. A shooting floor is under construction. It will be a plus when it is ready. Don't worry about events and festivals. It's a university with over 30,000 students. All these things are taken care of very well. Evenings are always crowded. Students roam around the campus after their classes. Foodies have the benefit of tasting a variety of cuisines at local food stalls and cafes. There are many scholarship programmes for international students. It's not a scenario in the case of nationals. The surrounding area, as I said, is clean but a bit noisy in the evenings. Some hostels are built by the road, so that must be the case in just those hostels, including mine. Not a big problem though.

Absolutely satisfied with my choice, faculty, hostel infrastructures.
Placements: You don't get to see a large number of students in film studies and television production, as people tend to choose theoretical line more than the practical one, and tend to believe that studying film studies would fetch you nothing. However, these are just perceptions I'm talking about that differs from the reality. You don't get offered for internships under this course, you have to work hard and find the place that you fit in.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure provided by this college is undeniably amazing, with walls beautifully painted, centrally air conditioned classrooms, large libraries, and so many more. However, they charge you a lot for hostel rooms but the facilities don't tend to disappoint you. Food is average, can't say it's the best. Besides, KIIT actively conducts sports, tournaments, games, of all sorts.
Faculty: The teachers are qualified, I don't know about other faculty members, but the one's I belong to, are very friendly and helpful. You'll always have their back when you need them. However, they fail to conduct themselves with utmost perfection, I don't blame them, nobody is perfect. This course curriculum is relevant and make the students industry ready. The semester exams in college will seem difficult only if you haven't prepared throughout the year, otherwise, it's the easiest exam I've cracked in my entire life. Pass percentage would be 40%.
Other: I chose this course as I felt this is the area I could fit into, I belong here, in the practical world, away from thousands of pdfs, and books. I really enjoy clicking photographs, editing, doing cinematography than I would studying and mugging up my lessons. This gives you exposure and help in polishing your innate skills.

I suggest you not to join here, and it is not worth the money.
Placements: There are no placements for bachelors in film and television production and a bachelor in mass communication and journalism courses in our college. There are no placements records for our course, and even our college didn't try to add anything in the course curriculum.
Infrastructure: Our college provides you with one of the best campus experience and also provides hostels, activity centres and auditoriums. All these facilities are available in every course. Our college provides everything which students need, so you don't have to worry about anything.
Faculty: In this university, in-house faculty members of our course are very bad. They are very stubborn and do not show interest to improve our future. Even they don't have the interest to build students skills and improve their practical knowledge. Our college provides only good infrastructure, which you can admire, but it does not provide any knowledge.
Other: Our college just takes care of organising fests, ceremonies and various counselling events.
