I am dissatisfied with placements and staff members.

Placements: I am an MCA student at KLE Technological University Hubli. In our batch, only 1 student got selected out of 55 students with a salary package of 1.8 LPA. About 10 to 12 students got selected for an internship in Hubli itself, which is free.

Infrastructure: My friends used to stay in the hostel. According to them, the hostel is quite good, and there is no problem with food. They keep bathrooms clean. Medical facilities are the best. Our college has a huge ground where we can play anything, and it is properly prepared for sports and activities. Classrooms are in-built with a projector and digital education. Our college has a good atmosphere, a decent library and PCs.

Faculty: Our college is good, and the pattern of education is excellent. Staff members are poor, and their teaching is of the very old style. They don't give proper advice for studies and always giving old-type assignments to write old programs. There are no industry-related activities. The course offered by the university is good in academics and practicals, but teaching staff members are below average. Hence it is quite tough to manage studies.

Other: I was interested in programming, so I took MCA. They need to work on staff members and industry-related programs. Events and fests are the best.

BVB College of Engineering and Technology, Hubli -MCA.

Placements: Placement opportunities are very few for MCA. About 4-5 companies per year who conduct tests/interviews alongside BE counterparts, hence the probability of hiring MCA candidate is meagre. Placements for MCA until 2012-13 were ample for seniors (about 7-10 companies and placing nearly 50% candidates with good score), but since 2014 the placement capacity and the number of students getting hired has reduced considerably. For 2014 batch, about 15 students out of 60 (25%) were placed in various companies. Highest salary offered: 7 lpa, lowest salary offered: 1.5 lpa, average salary offered: 3 lpa. Companies that visited: MetricStream, Nanopix, TCS, KPIT, Tayana Software. Roles offered: developer/software engineer/trainee. 33% got internships. Stipend offered: None.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is not available in MCA department. Throughout the college campus, a common Wi-Fi is shared which offers poor data speed. Labs: Good but no up to date software and hardware. Classrooms: Not up to the mark. Projectors are available on demand per class. Classrooms are not smart (digitally equipped). Library: Has all books but not sufficient for all students. It's like first come first serve. Have to purchase many books yourself for course content. Medical facilities: Poor. Not available on time. Sports: Good. Facilities for gym and games like carrom, TT, volleyball, running track, cricket ground, etc. are available. Food at canteen: Poor quality. Hostel rooms: Good. Fees: Extremely high even if you get a seat through PGCET.

Faculty: Very few faculty are well qualified and helpful. Most of the others were unable to convey the concepts properly to the students. The teaching method is very obsolete- chalk and talk methodology. Very few used to present slides occasionally. Student to faculty ratio: 60:8. Industry exposure: None. Course curriculum: Very few concepts in the course are industry needful. Most other content was obsolete.

It is an excellent college.

Placements: In our college, the quality of placements was excellent. Top recruiting companies like TCS, Infosys, Virtusa, etc., visited our campus. The college provided training so that students could easily handle these large corporations, and the cost was very reasonable.

Infrastructure: Our teachers were very qualified and experienced. I am currently in my fifth semester. The syllabus was completed within the given time. All of our teachers were very supportive and helpful. They helped us in every way. The TNP head was excellent.

Faculty: Every student had a job opportunity here. The college looked after students and treated them well. I am currently in a very desirable position with a very desirable company so the fees were completely justified.

Other: College life was extremely adaptable. Many events were organised by our college so that students were not bored with the hectic syllabus that no one could help them unless they help themselves.
