Q:   Is B.Com LL.B at Kristu Jayanti College a good choice?

    A:
    {Source: B.Com LL.B students & alumni}

Based on the feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary of the pros and cons:

    Pros:

    * Good infrastructure and facilities (library, classrooms, canteen)
    * Opportunities for internships and court visits, making students industry-ready
    * Relevant course curriculum with a focus on law
    * Decent placements with reputable companies (although limited)

    Cons:

    * Poor hostel facilities, including food quality issues and unclean washrooms
    * Limited placement opportunities for law students, with only 8 out of 90 students getting placed last year
    * Teaching methods could be improved, with some teachers relying too heavily on PowerPoint presentations
    * Partiality among teachers towards specific students
    * Low pass percentage and high failure rates
    * Paper pattern evaluation is considered flawed by some students and teachers

Overall, while the course has its strengths, such as a good infrastructure and relevant curriculum, the limitations in placement opportunities and poor hostel facilities may affect the overall experience for students. It's essential to weigh these factors carefully before making a decision.

Note: These points are based on the provided statements and may not reflect the entire picture. It's recommended to research further and visit the college to gain a better understanding of the program.

Q:   How effective is the placement cell for B.Com LL.B courses at Kristu Jayanti College?

    A:

Effectiveness of Placement Cell for B.Com LL.B Courses at Kristu Jayanti College

Based on student and alumni reviews, here's an overview of the placement cell effectiveness:

    * Placement Statistics: According to one reviewer, almost 40% of students were placed, with the highest package being around INR4 Lacs per annum and the average being INR3.5 lakhs.
    * Top Recruiters: Companies like HDFC and Law Veritas recruit from the college.
    * Internship Opportunities: All students participate in internships, which is a mandatory requirement under Karnataka State Law University.
    * Job Roles Offered: Legal Associate, Manager, Assistant Manager, and similar roles are commonly offered to graduates.

However, another reviewer mentioned that only six students from two batches got placed, indicating a relatively low placement rate.

Overall, while some reviewers reported positive experiences with the placement cell, others expressed concerns about the limited job opportunities available specifically for law students.

I am disappointed with my college teachers. They always show partiality between students.
Placements: There are no specific placement opportunities available for law students at my college. Out of the two batches that passed out, only six students got placed in total, which is a very low number. The college provides recruitment opportunities for autonomous students but not for law students. There are plenty of placement opportunities for autonomous students in companies like KPMG, EY, and many banks. However, law students do not have the same level of placement opportunities.
Infrastructure: The hostel facilities provided by the college are very poor in terms of hygiene and cleanliness. The food they provide is of low quality and sometimes contains dead insects. Additionally, they charge us for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food but do not provide non-vegetarian food. The washrooms are not cleaned regularly, despite the staff promising to clean them every two weeks.
Faculty: Teachers are knowledgeable, but there is room for improvement in their teaching methods. They often rely on PowerPoint presentations and may not thoroughly explain all the material. Additionally, our college conducts semester exams that are graded by the university, resulting in partial marks. While all of our teachers are qualified, their teaching methods could be improved.
Other: Many colleges organize festivals for BBA, B.com, and MBA students, but they do not conduct any fest for law students. Moreover, the management of the law department does not take any input or opinions from law students, as if they were not studying there. Additionally, there is a lot of partiality, as teachers only choose some specific students for their work. Also, most of the seniors who graduated from the law department are jobless.

Good placements in 2023 and great infrastructure.
Placements: This college does provide placements. Almost 40% of students were placed. The highest package is around 4lk per annum and average would be 3.5lk, there's no the lowest package. But if you go for litigation then you'll get only 2k-3k per month. Top recruiting companies are HDFC, law veritas, etc. Internships are done by all students in every semester, it is mandatory under Karnataka state law university. Top roles offered in our course is legal associate, manager, assistant manager, etc.
Infrastructure: The course is well structured for 10 semesters. Also every class is equipped with blackboard and projector with whiteboards. There are 2 libraries of which one is law library. It is very huge and has thousand of books, references, journals, case lawns, etc. College hostels are fine, food quality is also fine. Most of the students choose PG's or flats as there won't be any curfew if you are staying alone or with friends. College also provides paid gym.
Faculty: Faculty members are fine, some are really good, some are not that skilled to be a teacher eventho they have knowledge of the subject. The course curriculum is very relevant, it does makes students thorough with theory but to get experience, they should go to court to observed and experience more. Semester exams are tough but can be managed. Mid term exams are really easy as they are conducted by the college itself. For university exam, the passing mark is 32 out of 80.
Other: I chose this course as I wanted to know and study about lawns and have atleast basic knowledge. A lot of events happen in our college like college day, ethnic day, cultural fests, national moot competitions, etc.

Everything you need to know about Kristu Jayanti College.
Placements: Not sure of the placement as I'm still in my first year. But there are a lot of opportunities which the college promises to provide for enhancing students' experience in different fields. For the first years, there are opportunities to do internships in various NGOs.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is really good, I would say, as they call it a green campus. Facilities like Wi-Fi, a sports arena, and a library are on every block of the campus. The college has really good auditoriums with centralized AC. There are different cafeterias for each block in the campus with good food, I would say.
Faculty: The faculty members here are well-experienced in their field. The quality of the teaching is also great. As a first year, we have a lot of commerce subjects compared to law subjects, but to be honest, both the teaching staff are great. The college conducts mid-sem exams for the students before the semester exams for practice purposes.
Other: The course I went for is B.Com LL.B., and the reason for me to take up this course was that I was interested in reading law and wanted to see myself in the litigation field.

    Really good Infrastructure.
Placements: The placements for the law department are very bad as compared to Kristu Jayanti College, which is autonomous. Just four companies came for placements in the previous academic year and just eight out of 90 students got placed in different companies. The students who got placed will get a salary of approximately Rs. 250000 per annum.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure that is available at the college is awesome. The college provides Wi-Fi, labs, highly advanced classrooms and a library. The college provides sports and games facilities, Gym and a canteen for the students. There are no hostels available for boys. But for girls, hostel facilities are there.
Faculty: The teachers that are available at the college are highly qualified, helpful and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is excellent. Since my course is affiliated with Karnataka State Law University, the exams are very tough and difficult to pass.

Good infrastructure, good facilities, faculty members can be better.
Placements: 15-20 students are taken for placements who did not have any backlog. Not having backlogs is a must. There are reputed corporate companies and also other law firms. Internships are done by every student after each semester. It is a compulsory criteria for Karnataka state law university as kjcl comes under them. Top roles baged by the students are manager, assistant manager, associate in law firms, etc.
Infrastructure: There is moot court available which is well-equipped. Also classrooms are well-equipped with projectors. Also there is a huge library for the law students with variety of bare facts, books, articles, case law books, etc. Hostel is okay. There is mess available in the college hostels, and also gym facility is available in the college.
Faculty: Few teachers are not really good. But then there are other few who are great and teach well. This course curriculum is relevant and it does make students industry ready because for that they should have court visits regularly and should be doing work there under any firms, which is also mandatory carried out in the time table for the law students.
Other: This course offers a very good base for legal background and also offers basics of accounting. Everything is good as of now. There are many events and fests that happen in college.

Kristu Jayanti College is still new and is developing.
Placements: Around 60% of students were placed. The highest package offered was 2 LPA, and the lowest salary was 20,000 per month. Most of the students were able to apply for internships and get placed, but companies were not that reputed. So, I'm not very sure about the placement offers.
Infrastructure: The course is decent, and it's still developing, but the law library is very good. It has good facilities. It has good library, classrooms and other facilities. The hostels are bad, and I would recommend staying in a paying guest instead of the hostel.
Faculty: The faculty and university are a bit bad as they still require training, and this course is pretty relevant and has good demand when it comes to relation to company law. The exams are not that hard, but every subject is very vast.
