MCM, a good college for studying, making friends, and overall having a good college, but no placemen
Placements: Honestly, there were no placements given for my course, Bachelor's in Arts, in MCM college! Students with BBA degrees did get placed into companies but with very low salaries! This was a negative point for MCM. There were no internships, no placements provided by our college.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of my college was very aesthetically pleasing. It was very artistic and calm. The canteen was hygienic, and there was Wi-Fi, psychology, computer labs! The library was very vast and had a wide range of resources, including books, journals, magazines, and daily newspapers. I did not opt for the hostel.
Faculty: The faculty is well-acknowledged and had a higher education level like Ph.D. Masters! Teaching quality was pretty average. Psychology teachers were, however, very helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. Their way of teaching was very nice! Yes, we had 2 compulsory subjects every semester which were Punjabi/History of Culture, Punjabi, and English. We were to choose 3 other subjects; I chose psychology, sociology, and political science. Semester exams were medium difficult. Questions were based on what we have studied, and past year questions used to repeat most of the time, so it made it quite easy!
Other: Bachelor's in Arts opens up so many opportunities. I wasn't really sure after what to pursue after the 12th but had a very keen interest in psychology, so I went with this course, and I do not regret it! I guess maybe a more practical way of teaching could help make it better, like real-life industrial experience for psychology! Hospital visits or real-life case studies! The campus crowd was good. There was a diversity of girls in our college. There were people from all across the country. Made many friends from Himachal! Cultural fests, NSS, and NCC clubs were there too! Sector 36 market was best for food. We went to Sector 15 for Chinese and affordable food options.

Teachers are not very understanding.
Placements: Very less companies come and very less students get placement. The placements are not with good pay, and the job role is also not according to the course. Airtel and HDFC are the only two companies I saw coming for placement so far. The notifications related to anything just don’t get circulated properly here.
Infrastructure: The labs are great. The classrooms are okayish, the benches are not comfortable. There are many sports, and hostel is also allotted to the sportspersons, but the subject teachers are not so considerate when you're in sports. They will give you very less marks in internal assessment if you miss the classes due to sports. The hostellers are not allowed to go out of the college before 2, and they have to be inside before 6:30 pm (they have to inform if they want to go out after the college hours and the reason also has to be stated).
Faculty: The teachers are highly qualified and knowledgeable but not very understanding. It’s not a college; it’s more like a school. If a student wants to just study and not get involved in any extracurricular activity, they should definitely choose this college. The ambience is really good according to studies.
Other: I chose to study Bachelor’s of Commerce from here, and my overall experience was good as the teachers are highly skilled, educated, and knowledgeable. The college organizes many fests in a year, which are actually good, like Diwali fest, Meraki, etc. The crowd of this college is also very decent. The college also participates in various activities in Youth Fest.

College furniture needs to be changed. There should be more placements.
Placements: There are not too many placements. And the one they are offering is not worth the fee of the course; there should be more placements in the respective field and they should spread awareness among different courses, which we can do along with the graduation to face the competition with some different skills .
Infrastructure: Furniture needs to be changed and renewed; the wooden furniture is not comfortable for a 45-minute lecture; there should be good quality furniture; hostels are lacking in facilities based on their perceptions; the perceptions are increasing year after year, but the facilities do not.
Faculty: Faculty is good, teachers are friendly and supportive, and they teach very well and give extra knowledge. They also restrict us to the syllabus only but with the current issues, they should also add current affairs-related topics and some sessions, particularly based on the current situation of our nation.
Other: The campus is quite good and the crowd is also okay but not what I expected with the name of MCM DAV College.

Strong infrastructure, good facilities, and balanced student life.
Placements: Around 60–70% of MSc Chemistry students are placed. The highest package offered is around INR 6-7 LPA, the lowest is around INR 2-3 LPA, and the average package is INR 4-5 LPA. Top recruiters include pharmaceutical companies like Cipla, Sun Pharma, and research labs. About 40% of students secure internships in companies like Ranbaxy and DRDO. Common roles offered include research associate, quality control analyst, and lab technician.
Infrastructure: The college offers good infrastructure with well-equipped chemistry labs, modern classrooms, a vast library, and campus-wide Wi-Fi. Hostel facilities are decent, providing a comfortable stay, and the mess offers a variety of satisfactory food. Medical facilities are available, and the college promotes sports with options like basketball, badminton, and a gym, ensuring a balanced academic and extracurricular experience.
Faculty: The faculty is highly qualified, helpful, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is excellent, focusing on both theory and practical applications, making the curriculum highly relevant and industry-ready. Semester exams are moderately challenging but fair. The pass percentage is high, around 90-95%, reflecting the strong academic support provided.

Good College but Not the Best One
Placements: About 70-80% of students are placed with satisfactory packages. Companies like Tech Mahindra, Infosys, and Amazon offer placements to students. Students typically get jobs in sales and marketing, etc. However, we can't say that the college offers too many placement opportunities.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is average—not particularly fancy or comfortable. Classrooms are small and tight. The library is pretty good with available facilities. The hostel is also decent, offering facilities like washing machines, Wi-Fi, a reading room, and libraries. The food is acceptable, not too bad. Medical facilities are available, and games are also provided for students to play.
Faculty: Some teachers are very supportive and helpful, while others can be rude and unhelpful. All of them are well-qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching is pretty good. However, the course curriculum is not very relevant, as it focuses mainly on theoretical knowledge with little practical application. Semester exams are moderate to easy if you study.
Other: I chose this course for my future goal of teaching. The best aspect is that it opens up many opportunities for commerce students in the future and provides deep knowledge of the subject. However, the course could improve by offering less theoretical knowledge and more practical knowledge. Events are held in college, but not many are organized, and they are not that good. The campus crowd can also be boring, with limited extracurricular activities. Only students who are professionals in a specific area are allowed to participate, which restricts others from learning. Auditions for everything can be frustrating.

I'm very dissatisfied with the placements which are provided by the college.
Placements: Honestly, MCM DAV College for women does not provide any good placements, even for the toppers; the placements that are provided are very low-quality. I would never prefer any college that does not provide good placements, especially for B.Com.
Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi at our college is of no use; it doesn't work anywhere except the library and celebration grounds. Classrooms are not well built; they are very suffocating in the summer, and the benches are very uncomfortable. It would be better if there were more fans in the classroom.
Faculty: Some of the teachers are helpful while others are very rude. The exams are not that difficult; a person can easily pass them just by studying one month prior. It would be better if the teachers were more helpful and if there was more gap between the midterms and finalterms.
Other: MCM doesn't organize a lot of events and fests, and its very difficult to get the permission of our principal for anything and the receptionist is very rude.
