Course Curriculum for B.E./B.Tech at Muthoot Institute of Technology and Science

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's what we've gathered about the course curriculum:

    * Following KTU Syllabus: The college follows the Kerala Technological University (KTU) curriculum, which is a traditional engineering programme structure.
    * Industry-Relevant Skills: While the curriculum covers the essential topics, some students feel that it doesn't equip them fully for industry requirements. However, the college makes efforts to fill these gaps by conducting workshops and seminars.
    * Teaching Quality: Faculty members are well-qualified, with many holding Ph.D. degrees. They are known for their teaching skills, and students appreciate their help in clarifying doubts.
    * Semester Exams: Seminars are considered moderately difficult, with some students finding them challenging. However, with proper preparation, passing them is achievable.
    * Curriculum Upgrades: There are ongoing efforts to improve the curriculum, with the college aiming to introduce changes that make it more relevant to industry needs.

In summary, while the course curriculum at Mithoot Institute of Technology and Science is structured around the KTU syllabus, the college makes attempts to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industry requirements through additional initiatives. Students appreciate the teaching quality and faculty support, although some find the semester exams challenging. With continued efforts to upgrade the curriculum, the institute aims to produce industry-ready graduates.

College has good faculty. Programmes are very rare and more like a school life.
Placements: Around 78% of students from my course were placed this year from my college. The highest package was 26 LPA, the lowest was 3 LPA, and the average package was 5 LPA. The top recruiting companies were Keltron, MRF, and Tata. Around 80% of students got internships in various industries.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of both the hostel and the college is average. The campus is not that big. However, the facilities are great, with well-equipped machines and equipment. The hostel is good and well-maintained, and the food is edible, as you would expect from hostel food.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and encouraging. They guide you very well. They follow proper time and they are well scheduled They are teaching based on KTU timetable and special hours are required to complete the whole portions Overall, they all are very motivating and friendly.

    Awesome campus and good infrastructure.
Placements: About 80% of students were placed in our course, with the highest package being 45k per month and the lowest being 20k per month. Top recruiters were TCS, Wipro, and Infosys.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college plays a vital role in the development of the college as the students are now focusing on labs, classrooms, etc. Wi-Fi, labs, classroom and libraries are also available. All facilities are best here.
Faculty: The professors at this college are good and interactive and make the class more interesting than a normal class. They are interested in what the students are interested in and adjust their teaching accordingly. For example, if the students are bored or tired, they might cancel class or shorten the lecture.
Other: The campus is a place for celebration, and we participate in every occasion and festival that comes our way. We also celebrate religious festivals.

An average college but good for studies.
Placements: As of now, very few students are getting placements compared to previous years. But our placement cell has improved a lot by bringing good companies to campus. But they mostly bring IT companies, so other streams are less likely to get a placement. The average package is 3-4 LPA. They are even bringing internship opportunities, mostly from Kochi Infopark companies. Some of the companies that came this year were IBM, EY, Letket, MyGate, H&R Block, and UST. Top roles were Software Engineer, Data Analyst, and QA.
Infrastructure: Campus provides a good library which is very useful even for studying. All amenities are provided in both boys' and girls' hostels, but the boys' hostel is small. There are amenities like a gym, tennis court, lift, and cleaning service. The college provides good support for sports and sends students to different colleges for competitions. The college is not that spacious, so it's difficult to conduct a big event. There is a big spacious canteen which provides average food items.
Faculty: Few teachers actually have good knowledge and are good in teaching, but some are not aware of their own subject and manage by reading the PPT. Most students score good marks in exams; the college is strict in the matter of studies. Students are scared of losing their scholarships, so everyone tries to score high marks. I don't think the syllabus and pattern they follow make students industry-ready.
Other: My course is a very industry-trending course which provides high opportunities. I wish the curriculum provided more practical challenges and hands-on experiences rather than theory. The college doesn't allow many events; they mostly support only technical events. The college provides a good range of scholarships, which helps make education more accessible and affordable to students.

Academically good college with great faculty members and good infrastructure.
Placements: The placements at Muthoot Institute of Technology and Science (MITS) are average. The 2024 batch, for which placements took place, had 196 placements as of now. It has been ongoing as of the day of writing this review. The highest package offered was 12 LPA. Many well-reputed companies like Bosch, Vanenburg, Tejas Networks, and South Indian Bank - PO came to the campus for recruitment.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is pretty good. There are many facilities for the students to utilize. There are two academic blocks on the campus. One is newer than the other, and that's the one given to the first years to avoid ragging. That block consists of the office and the administration wing, which is there for you to clear your doubts. Well-maintained classrooms are provided to the students with great ventilation. The hostel is also well-maintained, but the only downside is the hostel mess, which isn't up to the mark.
Faculty: The college is known for its academics and top-of-the-line faculty members. The faculty members are there at your disposal and will be available for you at all times. The college follows the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University syllabus. The only limitation is that you have to learn the subjects of other branches in the first year, which is mandatory. There are two internal examinations conducted by the college, which count towards the final internals of your University exam. The pass percentage of the 2024 batch was 80.37%, which is the second best among the 128 colleges under KTU.
Other: I chose Cyber Security due to the scope it beholds in the future. It emphasizes network security and how to avoid third-party attacks, which is relevant to every industry in the world. There is a tech fest hosted by the college every year, which is exhilarating and in which students from all over the state participate. It's fun, and you meet new people from across the state.

Second-best college in Kerala and first among other private colleges.
Placements: Placements are pretty decent at my college for almost every branch. And talking about my course, the first batch will pass out next year. They will now start their S7. But for other branch placements, there are many top companies like L&T, TCS, Wipro, Infosys and many others.
Infrastructure: Since its a new college compared to others, the infrastructure, which is now there, is above average, but many construction works are going on for new buildings and hostels. Both men's and ladies hostels are very good with all the facilities, including 5G Wi-Fi. Sports facilities are also very good and we've got some of the best basketball and volleyball teams in the state. Many players get selected for the university team as well. Football grounds, indoor badminton courts, and gyms are also provided by the management.
Faculty: Our college is the best private college in the state as of now, as it had a passing percentage above 80% and was second in the overall list, with CET Trivandrum being the first. From this, we do get an idea of the level of faculty and how good they are. The semester exams are medium-level as of now since I have just finished my first year. We had an overall pass percentage of 80.2% for batches 2020–24.
Other: The college mainly focuses on study so there are not many fests and activities like at other colleges. Apart from events and fests the college is very good for both studies and sports.

The college is a good choice if you are focused on it placements.
Placements: As of now, no one has been placed in my batch. The highest package obtained by my seniors this year was 10 LPA, and MITS offers a minimum package of 3.5 LPA. The top recruiters have been TCS for the past few years. Most of the jobs offered are from IT companies, and calls from core fields for electronics are fewer, usually coming from new startups or new companies. Internship opportunities are mainly focused on final years, while others can apply individually in their own way.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good as the college itself is only 10 years old, with many facilities in excellent condition. There are enough labs and good equipment for every department. Moreover, there are facilities for sports such as a football ground, cricket pitches, basketball court, and volleyball court, etc. Hostel facilities are good, and the food is nice. There are gym facilities and a badminton court for both men and women hostels.
Faculty: The teachers are highly qualified, but they may not necessarily be good at teaching because there is a lack of consistency; it all depends on the individual. Some are very good teachers, whereas some tend to be below average. The curriculum is a bit outdated, I would say. The students should not just focus on academics but also on other side courses and programs to be industry-ready. Semester exams difficulty is medium.
Other: Chosen due to a passion for becoming an engineer and a desire to delve deeper into robotics, having electronics as a core would provide an excellent foundation. The campus life falls short compared to other colleges because the management prioritizes academics and discourages those activities.
