Is B.E./B.Tech at Nalanda College of Engineering worth the investment?

Based on the feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary of the pros and cons:

    Pros:
    * Good infrastructure: The college has a large campus with well-maintained laboratories, classrooms, and a library.
    * Helpful faculty: Most teachers are well-qualified, knowledgeable, and supportive.
    * Relevant curriculum: The course curriculum is relevant to industry requirements, making students industry-ready.
    * Low fees: Being a government college, the fees are relatively low.
    * Good placement opportunities: While the placement record may not be exceptional, some students have secured internships and jobs in reputed companies like TCS, HP, and Tata.

    Cons:
    * Poor placement record: Unfortunately, the college struggles with placements, and only a limited number of students secure jobs.
    * Limited industry exposure: Some students felt that the college could do more to arrange industry tours, guest lectures, and projects to enhance industry exposure.
    * Average facilities: While the infrastructure is good, some facilities like medical services and food options require improvement.
    * Competition: With a relatively smaller intake, the competition for placements might be higher due to fewer students.

Considering these factors, whether or not B.E./B.Tech at Nalanda College of Engineering is worth the investment depends on individual priorities and expectations. If you're willing to put in effort to supplement your education with additional initiatives and networking, the college's strengths can be leveraged to secure a decent placement. However, if you're expecting a high-demand placement guarantee, you might want to consider alternative options. Ultimately, it's essential to weigh the pros and cons carefully before making an informed decision.

Q:   How successful is the placement cell in securing jobs for B.E. / B.Tech students at Nalanda College of Engineering?

    A:
    {Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}

    Success Rate of Placement Cell

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary of the success rate of the placement cell:

    * Placement rates: Around 40-50% of students get placed through the college's placement drives.
    * Internship opportunities: Many students secure internships in reputed companies like Tata, HP, and others.
    * Higher packages: Although the average salary package ranges from INR1.2 Lacs to INR4 lakh, some students receive higher packages.
    * Limited companies visiting: According to some students, only 2-3 companies typically visit the campus, mostly offering sales roles.
    * Self-reliance essential: Students often have to rely on themselves for off-campus placements, as the college doesn't encourage offline internships or allows limited leaves for such purposes.

Overall, while the placement cell seems to make efforts to attract companies and facilitate placements, the results might vary depending on individual performance and industry demands. Students and parents should be aware of these facts and plan accordingly for career development.

Placements: 10 percent of student placed in my college in which only 9 percent of student are placed in sales and marketing and one percent placed in TCS company. The highest salary of my college is 17.39 Lacs which was given to Smriti Rupam. Average salary is 9 LPA and the lowest salary is 2.5 LPA.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is good and library is also good in my college. Quality of facility is average. The facilities and infrastructure provided for the course were well-equipped and supported an excellent learning environment. The classrooms were spacious, well-lit, and equipped with modern teaching aids like projectors and smart boards. The labs were state-of-the-art, featuring the latest technology and tools relevant to the course, allowing for hands-on practical learning. High-speed Wi-Fi was available throughout the campus, ensuring seamless access to online resources. Additionally, the library was well-stocked with a comprehensive range of books, journals, and digital materials, catering to both foundation and advanced topics. Overall, the infrastructure significantly enhanced the learning experience.
Faculty: The teachers were highly qualified, knowledgeable, and very helpful throughout the course. They demonstrated a deep understanding of the subject matter and were effective in breaking down complex concepts into simpler, more digestible parts. The teaching quality was excellent, with a focus on interactive learning and practical applications, which made the sessions engaging and valuable.

Strong technical foundation, skilled faculty, good placements and good infrastructure.
Placements: In our course, over 60% of students were placed. The highest package was 17 LPA, the lowest was 3.36 LPA, and the average was 5 LPA. The top recruiter was TCS, which offered roles like Software Developer and Analyst. Over 40% of students secured internships, mainly with Teachnook, an edtech company.
Infrastructure: Each department has dedicated classrooms equipped with smartboards and whiteboards. The entire campus has high-speed Wi-Fi, and the air-conditioned library has extensive B.Tech and M.Tech resources. Boys' and girls' hostels are separate blocks with Wi-Fi, comfortable accommodation, quality food, and canteen facilities.
Faculty: The teachers are highly qualified, helpful, and knowledgeable. The curriculum is industry-relevant, which prepares students for practical roles. The semester exams are moderately challenging and use a CGPA grading system. Attendance of 75% is mandatory, which reflects the college's strong academic support.
Other: I chose this course because I am interested in computer science, a technical field that keeps me engaged with evolving technologies. The course is ideal for me, but it could be improved by adding more practical, industry-focused knowledge, workshops, and hackathons. The campus has a lively crowd, and hosts cultural, sports, and technical events. Scholarships and the Bihar Student Credit Card are available to help economically weaker students.

Faculty is good, but you have to focus on your self-study. Placement is poor.
Placements: Every year, 10-20 percent of students were placed on campus. The highest package is 25 LPA, and the lowest was 3.36 LPA. Local companies (India), not higher MNCs. Almost 70-80% of students got internships from our course, mainly in Bihar start-ups and private companies. Roles include HR, code, assistant developer, developer, and more.
Infrastructure: College infrastructure was really unique compared to other colleges. Every department has separate labs, classrooms, and Wi-Fi. The library is combined. Departments/courses have their own labs. There is no medical support, no canteen, only a mess.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. But teaching quality is average. If you want to be ready for the industry, you need to do it yourself. It's not difficult, but you have to study; otherwise, the year-back system exists. Admission to this college is through UGEAC after giving JEE Main.
Other: Computer Science is the future because AI will be important in the coming days. Real-time industry experience and improved labs/infrastructure are needed. Two to three events/festivals are organized every year. The campus crowd is good. Connectivity from Patna (50 km) and Bihar Sharif (30 km) is good. The campus surroundings are good. There is a scholarship provided by the Bihar government (PMS) - Post Matric Scholarship. All is good.

Review of Nalanda College of Engineering, Chandi.
Placements: No idea about my branch as it is a new branch in my college. But in other branches, such as CS, a lot of students have been placed on campus and a lot of students have gotten off-campus placements. Average package in on-campus selection is around 5-6 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Infosys, WireFlow, etc.
Infrastructure: All facilities are available. Wi-Fi, laboratories, classrooms, food, sports, medical facilities—everything is available and manageable. The hostel is also comfortable to stay in. The hostel also has separate study areas for students who usually study late at night and very helpful staff.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified professionals. Passionate about the subject they teach. Very interactive and very helpful. The teachers will support you at each and every step in your academics as well as in sports and cultural festivals. Exams are easy to pass if you study well before hand.

Nalanda College of Engineering - the college Bakhtiyar Khilji needed to burn.
Placements: Pathetic placement scenario: Only 2-3 companies visit the campus, and those too with sales profiles. You will not be allowed to take offline internships. They don't allow more than 15 days' leave for any kind of internship. You can only rely on yourself for cracking off-campus placements. Even the placement cell is a joke.
Infrastructure: There is just one single building where all the lectures will be held, and all the administrative chores will be conducted. There's a hostel where you'll find triple-sharing rooms, and even double-sharing rooms after the second year. You can also opt for PG accommodation outside the campus.
Faculty: Super poor faculty. The CSE HoD was teaching after looking from Durga Sir's lecture. No regular classes, and there's a huge gap between what needs to be delivered and what's delivered. You can study just one day before and you'll pass. No need to be super talented.
Other: No fests are there. No clubs are there. There will be politics regarding caste and religion.

Review of Nalanda College of Engineering, Chandi (Nalanda).
Placements: 10 students among 60 have been placed in 2024. The highest package is 1.2 Cr. TCS, Infosys, and sales companies are the top recruiters. The campus is 54.5 acres with a fully Wi-Fi-enabled academic building. Hostel for both boys and girls are available within the campus.
Infrastructure: In NCE Chandi, Wi-Fi, labs, library, auditorium, volleyball court, cricket, etc. are on campus. There are 6 branches for B.Tech., namely Computer Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Aeronautical Engineering. There are 4 boys hostels, of which 2 are in construction and 2 are well maintained on campus; 2 girls hostels are in condition and have a capacity of 500. The food quality is average.
Faculty: Experienced faculty are in NCE Chandi; they are from NITs and IITs. Most teachers are Ph.D. qualified. No hard exams are conducted. Your average CGPA is 5. In mid-semester, you need to score well. In practical and viva, you need to appear in uniform and behave decently.
