For print journalism, it has great faculty members.
Placements: I am interning at The Better India, which is a reputed digital news platform. Two of my classmates are interning at Deccan Herald. The top recruiting companies include IDG, Deccan Herald, The Hindu, The Indian Express and Outlook Business.
Infrastructure: The material, facilities and infrastructure required for print journalism are available, but the equipment used in the studio for broadcast journalism could be upgraded. There is a lot of space to walk around, and our classrooms are well-ventilated. The boards on the basketball ground need to be changed.
Faculty: The teacher who took most of our classes was a senior editor at The Hindu for decades, and his experiences were valuable and inspiring. Most of the other teachers were helpful too. Our experience with broadcast journalism would be better if we had different teachers for that subject.
Other: I chose PGDM at NSoJ because I wanted to improve my writing skills, and the course did just that. Events such as the NSoJ talk series were very insightful. Experts from different fields such as law, tech, and trade were invited to discuss with us. I wish we were taught broadcast journalism in a better manner. The school also shifted considerably from the initial course plan given, probably due to the pandemic.

It provides an opportunity to grow and learn beyond textbook lessons.
Placements: For PG Diploma students, our college provides outstanding placements. They have been offered internships and job placements in India's most reputed organisations like The Times of India, The Hindu, Deccan Herald etc. Our alumni are currently working in Deccan Herald, Republic TV etc. It can be said that the placement rate is 100%.
Infrastructure: The campus is Wi-Fi enabled and has a spacious newsroom where all the discussions take place. Our classrooms are very spacious and well-ventilated. Each student has his/her own bench. Social distancing is strictly followed, and there are sanitisers in every classroom. There are blackboard, whiteboard and projector in every classroom. We also have a studio where all in-house shooting, recording, and editing take place. We also have a quadrangle in between where we play various games such as badminton. Sometimes, even talks take place there.
Faculty: The faculty members are very knowledgeable, highly qualified and friendly. Because of their friendly behavior, the students can approach them and ask questions without hesitation. The course curriculum is finely structured, which makes the students learn beyond lessons. They not only focus on theoretical lessons but also give importance to practical sessions.
Other: Due to Covid-19, not many events took place here. However, we are divided into 4 houses. We participated in online debates. We also have friendly matches amongst the participants of the houses. Slant, college fests, NSoJ talks, etc., are quite interesting and keep the students engaged. We also write articles, features, etc., for The Tannoy. The campus surroundings are really beautiful.

It provides an amazing exposure to the world of journalism with guidance at every step.
Placements: The placement rate is 100% at NSOJ. They offer placements in India's renowned news organisations. This year, few students from our batch of PG'21 got their internships in Deccan Herald before the completion of the course. Thus, you have your internship in hand before your graduation. By the end of the course, each student from the PG Diploma course walks out of the college with an assured internship and even employment opportunity in the same organisation. One gets an opportunity to intern in organisations like The Hindu, The Times of India, Republic TV, Asia Net and many more.
Infrastructure: Our campus is Wi-Fi enabled. It has well-ventilated classrooms, a well-equipped studio for in-house productions and an auditorium with good lighting and sound equipment, and the seating arrangements have been made for students keeping the social distancing and mask on norms in mind. We do have a newsroom as well, which gives the budding journalists an experience of professional workspace.
Faculty: Our faculty members are the best, well-qualified and experienced. One doesn't have the wall of teacher and student here. Our faculty members are easily approachable to the students. They believe in building a strong relationship between teachers and students. Our college focuses equally on providing bookish and practical knowledge. Our curriculum keeps us intact with the happenings around the world and keeps us occupied with learning new things all the time.

Our college provides good placements, nice infrastructure and facilities and experienced teachers.
Placements: Placements have been really good in our college. Our alumni are working in reputed media houses across the country. This year as well, two of the students got their internships in Deccan Herald before four months of completing their course. By the end of the course, all the students are assured of internships followed by job offers in the same organisations. Internships are offered in The Hindu, The Times of India, The Indian Express, Deccan Herald, India Today, Republic TV, Caravan and other prominent print, broadcast and online media houses across the country.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is impressive. The newsroom, broadcast studio and auditorium are very spacious and suit the needs of the students. Classrooms are well ventilated with adequate resources and provide the right ambiance for students to discuss news. There is a good Wi-Fi facility, which helps students to access information online with ease. The hostel accommodation is good, and the quality of the food being provided here is hygienic. It would be nice if some varieties of food items are served every day for hostel students. Sports and games have always been given importance here. Students enjoy playing amid tight schedules in a day. Sports day celebrated here is the most awaited day every year. There is also a Baptist hospital adjacent to our college, which makes it easier for students to visit in case of any emergency or health issues.
Faculty: The course curriculum here is mostly practical-oriented and is the best way to teach journalism in a college. Print journalism is unique among the rest of the journalism courses. We are being taught right from the basics of journalism, including writing, reporting, editing, photography, anchoring, multimedia tools, broadcast tools and many more essential tools. The lecturers here are highly efficient with sufficient work experience in their fields. Broadcast journalism can be given more importance to help students to pursue a promising career in that. We have been introduced to multimedia journalism from this year which is helping us to explore new dimensions in the field. It is really an interesting and creative way of writing a story online.

We have special classes on journalistic ethics once a week.
Placements: Our college has exceptionally good placements for the PG Diploma students. They offer internships and job placements in India's most reputed news organisations like The Times Of India, The Hindu, New Indian Express and Deccan Herald. They also concentrate equally upon broadcast journalism and few of our PG students of batch 2020 have done their internships in News X, Republic TV and India today. Placement rate is 100%. Our Alumni are working at news organisations like CNBC-TV 18, Asianet News, News X.
Infrastructure: It's a Wi-Fi enabled campus with spacious classrooms. They only accommodate a limited number of students in a classroom and so the students can sit leisurely and are not clustered into four in a bench. We also have access to the studio which is well-equipped for in-house productions and a well-maintained library. We have a beautiful auditorium where our programmes are held. Every week an hour is completely dedicated to sports and include both indoor games, outdoor games and team sports. We have a shared basketball court, badminton court and a TT room on the campus. We have a common canteen that provides tasty and hygienic food.
Faculty: The faculty members in the college are highly qualified in their field and are storehouses of knowledge. They are very friendly and helping which makes it easy for the students to approach them without any hesitation. The college also concentrates on imparting practical knowledge than the theoretical lessons which helps students gain more knowledge and exposure in the subjects. The course curriculum is structured in such a way that the students come out as skilled and qualified journalists.
Other: Unlike other colleges, we have special classes on journalistic ethics once a week. The college fest, the slant is also very unique as it exclusively is a literature and journalism fest and also has cultural programmes. The college gives away scholarship for students who excel in academics, extracurricular and their contribution to the college in terms of in-house production works, writing for The Tannoy, in-house activities and participating in inter and intra college fest. We also held events in our college like debates that follow the oxford union debate style, talk shows by eminent people.

NSOJ has given students an opportunity to grow and learn from the best in the field.
Placements: In the PGDJ batch that has just passed out has a 100% placement rate that NSOJ had. The students of NSOJ have done their internships through college at highly respected newspapers, magazines and media houses. Internships that are a part of the PGDJ course are done at places like Deccan Herald, TV9, The Caravan, etc. Currently, our alumni are placed in Times of India, The Hindu, India Today, Indian Express, Elle Magazine, The News Minute, Republic TV and many others. All our students are doing journalism in various streams.
Infrastructure: It is a relatively new college, and the campus is equipped with Wi-Fi and classrooms with both writing boards and projectors. Each individual has a single bench and is seated at a safe distance from each other to follow social distancing within the classroom. Classrooms are spacious and well-ventilated. For journalism driven course, there is plenty of course material available for students if required. Students have access to the state-of-the-art and soundproof studio with all equipment required to shoot, record, edit and post or publish the work. There is a separate newsroom for more interactive sessions and discussions. The auditorium is enabled with both a powerful light and sound system where the official events and discussions are held.
Faculty: Teachers go beyond to ensure that we are making the most out of the time we spend in college. They actively take part in planning and executing events for our benefit in addition to always being supportive in our academic endeavours. They provide us with extra information that is very useful for us both inside and outside the classroom. They are preparing us for university exams as well as public exams we may like to take. Our professors are very approachable and easy to talk to. All our professors are highly qualified and are experts in the field that they teach us. It gives students an insight into what our professional lives could be and what to expect from it. NSOJ's teaching method is not just a traditional textbook approach, but rather it is a hands-on method. The curriculum is relevant, and the NSOJ method of teaching and preparing its students for the professional world is the best. Positions our alumni currently hold are testimony to it.
Other: I am pursuing my BA at NSOJ and will pass out in the year 2021. I have chosen this course because of the combination if had, i.e., journalism, psychology and communicative English, and all are essential to becoming a journalist. The best part of our course curriculum is that our professors go a step ahead to make it interesting and useful without burdening us with work or irrelevant information. If anything has to be improved, then it would be a change from the fixed curriculum set by the university. NSOJ awards outstanding students with a scholarship depending on their contribution to college activities. NSOJ has its annual literary, music and arts festival which brings together some of the most talented writers, speakers, debaters and musicians from across the city, which is creating a vibrant atmosphere. The college is located in the centre of the city, and accessibility is very easy even by public transport. In terms of extracurriculars, NSOJ encourages its students to showcase their talent through dance, music, writing, speaking and even sports and recognise these talents.
