Q:   What is the effectiveness of the placement cell for MBBS programs at Osmania Medical College?

    A:
    {Source: MBBS students & alumni}

Effectiveness of the Placement Cell for MBBS Programs at Osmania Medical College

Unfortunately, the placement cell at Osmania Medical College seems to be limited in terms of its effectiveness. According to the students' reviews, there are no direct placements offered by the college after completing the MBBS program. Instead, students have to prepare for PG NEET (Postgraduate National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) and obtain a PG seat to further their careers.

However, students can opt to work in Public Health Centers (PHCs) or private hospitals after graduating. Some students have reported getting PG seats in clinical and paraclinical subjects every year, making pursuing post-graduation a viable option.

Here's a summary of the key points:

    * No direct placements: The college does not offer direct placements after completing the MBBS program.
    * PG NEET preparation: Students must prepare for PG NEET to secure a PG seat and continue their education.
    * Option to work in PHCs/private hospitals: Students can consider working in PHCs or private hospitals after graduating.
    * PG seats available: Some students report securing PG seats in clinical and paraclinical subjects every year.

Overall, while the college provides a solid foundation in medical education, students seeking employment opportunities immediately after graduation might need to explore alternative avenues.

Good college for MBBS course at low fees.
Placements: The placement system is something different as compared to other colleges. In the last year, our college offered 1 year of internships in local medical colleges. After the internship plus training program, the job is confirmed and salary is given based on performance.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure should be improved, as all of the buildings are very old. Overall infrastructure is average and some of the buildings are under construction. Library has no option to access online so it needs to be activated. Sports and games are arranged every semester.
Faculty: The teaching system at our college is excellent and the teachers are friendly. If you have any problem about any course, you can ask them. The practical teachers are extremely helpful, which helps us to learn easily. The exam system is medium and if you want to pass, you just have to read properly.

You can choose this college for MBBS.
Placements: There is no specific campus placement in medical colleges. After completing the course, one must do an internship for one year and then attempt an MD or MS through the PG entrance exam. But, being one of the premier medical institutes in our country, its PG results are pretty good, as 4-5 students every year get a suitable branch in MD or MS in our country's best colleges like AIIMS MAMC or KGMU. As of now, the stipend paid during an internship is the same as that of Centrally Affiliated Colleges, i.e., 23,000 INR.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is improving day by day, though it is currently not at par with the best. The campus has 4 boys hostels, another 7-story hostel building under construction, and 2 girls hostels. The main boys hostel has a Wi-Fi facility, and the new boys hostel does not yet have that facility. The food quality in boys hostels is good, or sometimes average. Regarding the academic environment, the best students in East India mostly choose this college, so you will get enough competition. We have three separate lecture theaters and an academic building for professional examinations. The lab facility is not that great, but you will have everything you need to acquire knowledge without any hindrance. All the hostels are pretty good, and MBH has been renovated and looks like a new boys hostel. Hostel rooms are allotted on a three-, two-, and four-sharing basis. The sharing room is relatively big. Although we have a problem with the canteen in the new boys hostel, you can solve it as the canteen in the main boys hostel is very satisfactory in providing quality food. Unfortunately, we do not have a playground, although indoor games like table tennis, carrom, etc. are available.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, clearly qualified, and knowledgeable. They use projectors to teach us. We can approach them anytime to discuss our studies. The student-faculty ratio is quite substantial. Delhi is a metropolitan city, so obviously there is exposure to the beat industry. There is no question about the course curriculum being helpful.

Best college in Telangana for MBBS.
Placements: I do not have any idea regarding the placements process. But there are no such direct opportunities available post the completion of MBBS. All you need is to clear the PG entrance examination. However, the college offers paid internships for the final year students. This internship helps you to gain knowledge in the practical field. This institute is a great place to prepare for PG exams.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure needs proper renovation. Most of the buildings are old. Other facilities like labs, classrooms, library among the other infrastructure is okay. The hostel has different rules. In the first year, you may face problems because you have to stay with around 20 students in a room. From 2nd year onwards, this problem will be sorted. Food quality of the hostel is not bad.
Faculty: All of our professors have high qualifications. They are qualified enough to be able to teach us various subject. The course is relevant based on the current syllabus. On the other hand, some the faculty members are doctors. The semester exams are not easy to clear because the passing percentage is 100%.

    Internship facility is good.
Placements: All 4th-year students are required to do their internship. Then they prepare for NEET PG and take the exam for specialisation. The internship lasts for 6 months, followed by house staffing for 6 months, which is optional NEET PG exam is based on all the subjects taught in MBBS (I.e., 23). You must know that in MBBS courses, no college gives direct placement.
Infrastructure: College: being the 1st medical institute in Asia, its buildings are a bit old, but I can confirm the lecture theatre is very meticulously maintained. Library facilities are extremely good. Wi-Fi is also available inside the academic building. Labs are well maintained.
Faculty: It is impossible to find every professor amazing as far as teaching techniques are concerned. So to be clear, apart from some legendary teachers, others are pretty boring. You don't have to worry about the student-faculty ratio. Recently, one of the best anatomy teachers in East India, Dr. Swapan Kumar Saha, retired from our college, but we have very few professors whose teaching is amazing. If you miss your dissection class, you can practice on your own later.

For MBBS, you can get this college with low feels.
Placements: There is no placement here, but they provide a one-year compulsory internship. The stipend is very low compared to other government colleges, which pay around Rs. 25000 per month. We only get money. 10,000 per month. Once you complete your course, you can apply for jobs as an MBBS doctor anywhere in India. A postgraduate degree is also an option.
Infrastructure: Our library is peaceful, and it has almost all the books and magazines of a medical student. The college hostel has double-B.Ed. and single-B.Ed. rooms. Clean room. At the mess, they serve three meals daily, with tea and snacks in the evening. PGs and rented rooms are available nearby, but they are very expensive.
Faculty: The faculty members are probably the best among the medical colleges in this state. They are accommodating in clearing our doubts. During the clinical posting, they provide an overview of the case and relevant history before moving on to the diagnosis and management section.

College with qualified faculty and good quality facilities.
Placements: At Osmania Medical College, all the students were getting placement opportunities. The college had its own medical college, where all the students got internships and placements. The average package offered was between 6 and 8 LPA. 100% of the students get internships at this college.
Infrastructure: Our college has good-quality infrastructure for our course. The facilities at this college were of good quality. Wi-Fi, labs, library, canteen, hostel, medical, sports and various other required facilities were given to the students. The food was good to eat. Rooms in the hostel were well furnished.
Faculty: The faculty of our college were qualified and knowledgeable. Their way of teaching was easy to understand and of good quality. The course curriculum of the college was relevant and it makes the students industry-ready. Semester exams at the college were hard to pass. Pass percentage was 80–85%.
