Q:   Is BBM/BMS at Parle Tilak Vidyalaya Association's Sathaye College worth the investment?

    A:
    {Source: BBM/BMS students & alumni}

Based on the feedback from students and alumni, here are some key points to consider:

    * Placement record: While the college has a relatively low placement rate (around 35-40%), some students have reported positive outcomes, with companies like Infosys, Tata, and Aditya Birla offering packages ranging from INR1 LPA to INR5 LPA. However, others have noted that the placements may not be as competitive as those offered by other colleges.
    * Curriculum: Many students have expressed disappointment with the curriculum, citing that it lacks practical application and industry relevance. While professors are generally knowledgeable and willing to help, the coursework may not prepare students adequately for the workforce.
    * Faculty: Feedback on the faculty is mixed, with some praising their teaching skills, while others mention that some professors may be less approachable or ineffective communicators.
    * Infrastructure: The college boasts modern infrastructure, with well-equipped classrooms, a large library, and sports facilities. However, some students have pointed out issues with maintenance and upkeep.
    * Events and activities: The college organizes various events, including Synergy and Colloquium, which seem to be popular among students. However, some have mentioned that these events might not be as frequent or well-executed as expected.
    * Career guidance: Placement drives and career counseling services are limited, leaving students largely responsible for finding job opportunities themselves.

Considering these factors, whether BBM/BMS at Parle Tilak Vidyalaya Association's Sathaye College is "worth the investment" ultimately depends on individual goals and expectations. Prospective students should carefully weigh the benefits against potential drawbacks before making a decision.

Here's a summary in bullet points:

    * Mixed placement record, with some students reporting successful outcomes
    * Limited practical application and industry relevance in the curriculum
    * Variable faculty performance, with some professors being more effective than others
    * Good infrastructure, with modern classrooms and sports facilities
    * Occasional events and activities, including Synergy and Colloquium
    * Limited career guidance and placement support

Keep in mind that individual experiences may vary, and it's essential to research thoroughly and consult with current students or alumni to gain a better understanding of the program.

A very decent college with decent facility .
Placements: Placements are not really provided here. I mean there are seminars that are been held and recent a placement cell has been started so we have to look according. The top roles offered can be basucal like invefs manager aur something related to finance but people have to upgrade their skills .
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good. The classes are airy and spacious. We also have football and table tennis court. Library is good too. The canteen food is good at a decent price I personally don't like the taste. Their is no Wi-Fi. And mirrors in the washrooms. All there is no handwash in women washrooms.
Faculty: I don't think the curriculum make the student industry ready. It's just the normal theory studies and exams. Exams are at moderate level. Teachers are well qualified but they can be boring. Also not too many actigiti are held. It's basically about learning and writing .
Other: I wanted to do finance. I wish there was more practical learning for my course. More activities. The crowd is decent. I don't think there are many scholarship. Till last year there were many events held but from this year there will be less events and fest.

The top college of Mumbai suburb is Sathaye College.
Placements: About 35% of students got placed. The lowest salary package offered is 1 LPA, the average salary package offered is 2 LPA, and the highest salary package offered is 5 LPA. Top recruiters are Infosys, Tata, and Aditya Birla. About 30% of students got internships in companies like Aditya Birla, Infosys, and Tata Group. The top roles offered are marketing, customer service, and engineering. A vast amount of courses are available in science, arts, and commerce backgrounds. Hence, the opportunities are vast too. The college is known for its placement cell.
Infrastructure: No Wi-Fi is available on campus and no student can access the Wi-Fi. Only the staff members are given that authority. The library is huge and almost 300 students can fit in it at once. Almost all necessary books are available in their library. The lab is huge and all equipment is available. The canteen is huge but the food is not worth it. Since it's a Maharashtra college food such as vada pav, manchurian, poha, idli, and chain coffee are available. The price starts from Rs.10. The students are not allowed to chill in the canteen for too long, especially during lectures. The staff members are helpful and they provide all the necessary facilities. The crowd is mostly Maharashtrians and from the western line. The ground is of decent size which has been getting reconstructed now. You can play football, badminton, cricket, kabaddi, and kho-kho on the ground during college hours. The canteen area is very huge and so is the campus.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are very helpful and well experienced. Every teacher's English was good. The teachers paid attention to each student individually. They do not scold students unnecessarily. They built a personal relationship with students. They did not discriminate between students based on religion, cast standards, etc.

Satisfied because of good teachers, average placements, nice infrastructure, and facilities.
Placements: In the college, almost 30-40% of students got placement. The highest package was 12 Lacs and the average is 2.5 Lacs, and the lowest was around 1.2 Lacs. There were a lot of finance and management companies. I don't know the percentage, but many students got internships at companies like Microsoft, and a lot of students started their own businesses. The top roles offered were assistant manager.
Infrastructure: There is a library, canteen, science labs, computer labs, auditorium, and classrooms. The facilities of the course and college are really good. There are many college events and fests, and the students enjoy them as an audience and also as volunteers and heads.
Faculty: The teachers are amazing and friendly. We used to enjoy the lectures. There is a department fest we do in the college that teaches us how to push ourselves and our skills and abilities. The exam is difficult if not studied. The passing percentage is quite high.
Other: I chose this course for gaining knowledge and skills for my future career. This is the best course because it gives us a reality check for the outside world. There should be more opportunities for students. There are our own department events and fests.

I was satisfied by the faculty members and had great experience at the placements.
Placements: About 60-90% of students got placed in the BMS course. The highest salary was about Rs.70,000 per month and the lowest salary offered was Rs.25,000 per month. Recruiting companies were Kotak Mahindra Bank, TCS, etc. Students who got above 60% of students got internships from many companies. Top roles offered were research analyst, financial advisers, marketing head, etc.
Infrastructure: The facilities we got were the best facilities ever and they were of the best quality. The quality of food served in our canteen was good.
Faculty: Faculty members were amazing and helpful. They also have industry experience in their life. They taught us very well. The difficulty of the exam is average and it depends on how you study.
Other: The best of our college is our BMS course is the Synergy event which was organised by us.

Satisfied with the course offered by the college.
Placements: Placements offered by Sathaye college are good depending on the company approaching the college. Since due to covid the placements were not offered due to online classes. The lowest package offered by this college is approximately 3 LPA depending on the company.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is excellent with well maintained and ground provided for sports and other activities. The canteen is also good with quality food. From June 2022 the college is providing ground with cricket turf, volleyball, football and running track. The sports room is also provided with carrom, chess and table tennis.
Faculty: The faculty is excellent with a minimum of 5 years of experience. Visiting faculty are also great from well-known colleges. Faculty are cooperative and ready to help students regarding their academics or future career planning. Semester exams are moderate for regular students. Students have to score at least 35 out of 100 in each subject to pass the semester.
Other: BMS department conducts big excellent events like synergy and colloquium. There are other cultural activities conducted by the college. There is also the Rotaract club of Sathaye college which conducts activities and events.

The college is quite good, but placements for BMS 2022 students are disappointing.
Placements: In our college for the BMS department, 0 companies appeared for campus placement which is so disappointing. There are no placements. I do not know about the BMS department roles. For the IT department, top roles like business analyst and trainee are offered here.
Infrastructure: The library of the college is good. You can find all the books required for your syllabus. IT Lab facility is average. The canteen is the best part as it has a lot of space to chill out with your friends and a variety of things to eat. Sports events organised are top-notch here.
Faculty: Teachers in the BMS Department are well-qualified. Their teaching skills with practical implementation are on point. The course curriculum is not relevant to the current year and scenario, so the syllabus should be updated on industry-level knowledge for real-life preparation. Semester exams are not so difficult.
Other: I have chosen this course due to my interest in the financial field. The best thing about the course is I can relate it to all the knowledge I possess. The syllabus should be upgraded, and it does not give so much relation to the updated knowledge outside it. Fest organised is the best part of college in 2019. When I was at the FY Synergy event, I had a great experience as a marketing consultant. It also conducts extracurricular activities like the debate, which is a plus point in my class.
