I would not recommend students to join this college.
Placements: It is a government college so there are no placements. Internships are offered at this college. Few students get recommendations from teachers and they are working in industries.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. Our campus is huge. There is a huge playground in this college. Library is very good. Separate hostels are available for both girls and boys. Classrooms are average. Canteen is also available. The food served in the hostel is not good. Our campus is not Wi-Fi-enabled.
Faculty: Teachers are very good. They are very knowledgeable. The teaching quality is not good. Sometimes, practicals are not conducted by teachers. Semester exams are conducted by Utkal University. Two semester exams are conducted each semester.

B.Sc. in Botany - Batch of 2018

Our college provides good teachers, infrastructure, and facilities.
Placements: Placements provided in this college were not good. Companies didn't visit our college frequently but sometimes, companies like Vedanta conducted a written cum interview examination to recruit final-year students. Around 5 to 6 students got jobs in 2017 with a salary of Rs.25,000 to Rs.30,000 per month. Our college should improve placements. Most students prefer higher studies after B.Sc. Botany.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of classrooms and laboratories was good. CCTVs were installed on campus for the security of the students. Wi-Fi facility was not available and may be installed in the future. Labs were well-equipped like an incubator, autoclave, PH Meter, compound microscope, photo spectrometer, etc. Library was good but should be digitalised. There was a reading room adjacent to the library where students can find books, newspapers, and magazines. Students can borrow books from 10 AM to 4 PM except Sunday. Hostel was provided for both boys and girls. Girls' hostel has good infrastructure whereas boys' hostel had poor infrastructure. Mess was managed by hostel boarders so the quality was maintained and the actual price of the meal should be paid by boarders. Medical facility was not available on campus but there was a government CHC Salipur near our college which provided all the medical facilities to students and faculty members. It had a big playground for cricket. There was a common room for students to play indoor games. It had a badminton court and a rugby playground.
Faculty: It was a premiere autonomous college in Odisha in terms of teaching and learning. The course curriculum was prepared by Utkal University as our college was affiliated with it. It was updated and relevant to the current time. Many students qualify for all the entrance exams and Odisha government entrances for higher studies. Faculty members were very good, friendly, and knowledgeable. The quality of the teaching was the best. Semester examinations were not difficult. Exam results were published on time. The pass percentage was 97-98% which varied every year.
Other: As the laboratory was very small to accommodate students, it should be improved. Our college should provide a big conference hall for the department to carry out functions like welcome and farewell ceremonies. Connectivity was good. It was nearly 800 meters from the main road where students can get bus and auto rickshaw facilities and was 30 km away from Cuttack City. Events like annual functions and annual sports were held in our college. Our campus is on the bank of the river, so students enjoy the campus life. Our campus was always crowded because it consisted of many departments and a higher secondary school on campus. Post-matric scholarships were provided by the government of Odisha, SR Jindal scholarship, Fellowship by college, and National scholarships. Extracurricular activities like sports, singing, dancing, writing, debate competitions, etc., were held in our college. NSS and NCC wings were available in our college to boost career opportunities for students.

Good teaching staff but average campus and exam pattern.
Placements: No placements are provided by the college. No internships are there in the course. After Bachelors course, you can do post-graduation course on your own with hard work. No expectations can be kept from the college. Come to this college only for certificate. I hope you have understood.
Infrastructure: No free Wi-Fi is available for the students, it is only for the college staff. There is a library but it is not good enough to study there. You can read one book at a time. The canteen is average.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified and very friendly but you cannot depend much on them. They are very busy and they usually have less time to complete the syllabus. No curricular activities are conducted. The questions are very difficult in the exams and the pass percentage in above average.
Other: If you want to only certificate then come to this college.
