Q:   Is B.Com at School of Economics and Commerce worth the investment?

    A:
    {Source: B.Com students & alumni}

After analyzing the feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary of the key points:

    Placements:
    * Placements are limited, with hardly any students being placed in good companies.
    * Average package is around INR 34 LPA, with the lowest being INR 12,000 PM and the highest being INR 44.5 LPA.
    * Few students got placed in top companies, while others opted for startup certifications instead of internships.

    Infrastructure:
    * Infrastructure has improved since the students' time, with new classrooms and canteens.
    * However, the university still lacks medical facilities and has issues with Wi-Fi connectivity.

    Teaching Quality:
    * Teachers are generally qualified and knowledgeable, but teaching quality can improve.
    * Course curriculum is relevant, but students may need to acquire additional skills to become industry-ready.

    Career Prospects:
    * Some students managed to secure good jobs, especially those who pursued careers in finance.
    * However, many graduates settled for low-paying jobs or opted for entrepreneurship.

    Conclusion:
While the School of Economics and Commerce offers a relevant course curriculum and experienced faculty, its placement record leaves room for improvement. Students who want to pursue a career in finance may find opportunities, but those looking for higher paying jobs may struggle. Overall, investing in a B.Com degree at this institution requires careful consideration of the pros and cons.

The glimpse of the college your searching for.
Placements: The percentage of students who will be eligible for placement are the students who don't have any active back paper, only those students are eligible for placement. The top recruiting companies for my course according to my knowledge are ANZ, Accenture, Deloitte, and State Street Corporation.
Infrastructure: The labs especially the computer labs are very well maintained and have facilities for more than 60 students who can operate at once. The canteen is also well situated. They provide very hygienic food and the taste also is better. The classroom has good tables and chairs.
Faculty: The teacher/faculty are well qualified and knowledgeable in the subjects they take which makes us good doubt. The courses provided are also related to the course opted and they also take us to industrial visit by charging a minimum fee. The sem-end exam is more reasons and logical based.

    Review of education at CMRU.
Placements: The percentage of students placed was 10 out of 100; the placements weren't from big corporations and were mostly startups. The average package for my course was 3–4 LPA. Most of the students chose mentorship over internships, where they were certified by startups.
Infrastructure: We had all the facilities the only problem was that they were small, and the buildings were getting constructed. Since the infrastructure at HRBR campus was too small, we were asked to go to OMBR campus to write our exams. And right now, the infrastructure is fine.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers were qualified enough and sometimes the subject is not understandable. Yes, the course curriculum is relevant and makes us ready for the industry. The course is easy and for the studying students, it can be very easy, and if not, it will be easy.
Other: The course I chose was B.Com. and was trending in 2020. And I thought it would be good to choose B.Com. The course was perfect and might have provided better faculty from the university for the course. Events and festivals were conducted regularly and were fulfilled.

The review of life at CMRU.
Placements: Hardly any students were placed properly in good companies. The lowest package was 200000 and the highest was 400000. Target was the biggest company from whom we received placements. We didn't get any kind of assistance from the university side for our employment or internship.
Infrastructure: When we were studying at CMRU, we didn't have many infrastructure facilities, but right now they have improved the infrastructure of the university. To be fair, we didn't utilize the hostel facilities. Right now, they have developed classrooms and canteens.
Faculty: Yes, some of the teachers were qualified. They helped us with our academics. Yes, the course's curriculum is relevant. Maybe it does, but it does not exactly make us industry-ready. It was easy for us to pass the exams.
Other: I chose the course for my career purpose. As I wanted to be a finance associate, I chose B.Com. as my course. Better infrastructure during our time (its perfect right now). We had fun during our cultural events and fests. It was all good.

Absolutely satisfied with the course, but disappointed with the placements.
Placements: * The average package was like INR 2 LPA; the lowest was INR 12,000 PM and the highest was INR 4–4.5 LPA. Almost 2 out of 10 were placed in a good company and most of them didn't even have a chance to sit for placements. *Not sure of internships, but pretty sure mostly 50% of the students would have landed a good job. Top roles would be finance associate, etc., but irrelevant to the course would be sales associate, marketing associate, etc.
Infrastructure: * The canteen wasn't a good place personally for us 2023 passout batch, and the library can be given an average of 3 out of 5. The classroom was a good place, tho. The canteen infrastructure is great. So we always preferred the restaurants and food courts nearby. (Shakespeare, if you go near CMRU, try not to die).
Faculty: The teachers here were mostly qualified, and they were knowledgeable as well. Yes, the course was curriculum-relevant and mostly had like 4–5 CCE classes. I'm not sure where I should use that, as I've already landed a job right now. The semester-end exams were really easy and relatable to what was thought in class.
Other: I basically wanted to land in corporate and that was the main reason I took B.Com. In 2022, industrial visits and real-time experiences in the industries might have made the course better. In 2022, yes, the events and activities are the best. But it would be even better if all the students could join us for the events. Most of the students will not even know an event happened.

CMR university is a great college where you can achieve your dreams and enjoy your college life .
Placements: More than 90% students get placed. The highest is more than 2 LPA and the lowest is 1 LPA. Top recruiting companies are infosys, wipro and BR.
Infrastructure: All the infrastructure facilities are available such as library, computer labs, Wi-Fi, drinking water facilities, basketball court, canteen etc. The quality of the facilities of hostel canteen, sports and mess are above average and the student are satisfied but the it lacks medical facilities .
Faculty: Yes the teachers are qualified, knowledgeable but the teaching quality can be improved. Yes this course is relevant but additional courses and skills must be learned to make the students industry ready for better future. The semester exams are easy as students help you out with revision classes also .
Other: I wanted to choose this course as I wanted to pursue CD and the best thing about this course is you get to learn a lot of different subjects and topics rather than focusing in a single subject. The teaching quality and timings are ever changing and fluctuating, Events and fests are held regularly and there is a OSA team who conduct extracurricular activities every week.

    Bad placement, good infra.
Placements: There were only 2 recruiters till now: Accenture and Empower. Accenture is still in their interview process. Empower selected 7 students out of 150+ students. As we are final-year students, we need to search for internships ourselves. TCS is tied up with our particular course, which is B.Com Industry Integrated, but to date, they never come to us. There are no industry visits.
Infrastructure: We have a huge informative library with books from different departments like Kannada, Accounts, Finance, Business, Management, Law, etc. Labs are good, I heard it from my friends. I don’t know much about the hostel. I came to know the hostel fees were 80k from our batch.
Faculty: We have projectors, the teaching is quite proper, and the course curriculum is relevant. One semester gets over in hardly 5 months. Students who study properly don’t face much difficulty in exams. Few faculties are not having knowledge about the particular subject they teach students. 40% is the pass percentage.
Other: I’m a B.Com Industry Integrated final year student. I chose this course because we had a tie-up with TCS, but I think there’s no connection to TCS right now. Events, fests, and campus crowds are much better. Too much delay in providing scholarships.
