Q:   How effective is the placement cell for BCA courses at SRMCEM?

    A:
    {Source: BCA students & alumni}

Effectiveness of Placement Cell for BCA Courses at SRMCEM

    * Placement percentage: Almost 100% of the batch gets placed.
    * Roles offered: Mostly computer programmers and application developers.
    * the highest salary package: Between INR5 LPA - INR6 LPA (in 2022).
    * Average salary package: INR3 LPA.
    * the lowest salary package: INR2.5 LPA.
    * Companies visiting: Adani, Cognizant, etc.
    * Internship opportunities: Limited, but helpful in building resumes.

Note: While the placement cell seems to be performing well, some students mentioned that the faculty's focus lies elsewhere, making it challenging for students to prepare for placements. However, this does not seem to affect the overall placement percentage significantly.

Good placement but no college life.
Placements: There were mostly students placed in IT companies, but some of them were also placed in sales companies. The highest package was 8 Lacs per annum, and the lowest package was 3 Lacs per annum. Amazon, Deloitte, Tata, Adani, and HCL, I think, each and every student got an internship. Data analyst, sales executive, and tech leader.
Infrastructure: The college has a library having a variety of materials, including books, journals, magazines, project reports, and CD rooms. The Wi-Fi is very smooth and fast, but the internet provided by the college to us is extranet. The hostel is not good; they just don't follow the meal timetable, and sometimes the food also gets finished if I am late. But the medical facilities are good.
Faculty: The teachers were highly qualified, knowledgeable, and approachable, fostering a positive learning environment. The course is relevant, but students also have to develop their own responsibility and skills. The external semester exams are easy, but in this college, you don't get any internal exams, so you have to work hard in your pre-end and quizzes.
Other: My main motive for choosing this course was because I wanted to get a job in the IT sector without studying Physics and Chemistry. The best thing about our course is that we have been taught Maths along with accounts and other management. The things in our course need to be improved, like bringing NEP to our course. Events rarely happen, and when they happen, you are not given any attendance for them.

True review of SRMCEM by Prakhar.
Placements: The percentage of students that were placed in my course is a maximum of 30-40% all over the college because all the students get admission in B.Tech if he/she had completed schooling from the Science stream. If they have completed schooling from the commerce or arts stream then he/she will take admission in BCA otherwise not so much chance. The highest package given to students is 10-12 LPA, the lowest package offered to students is 3-4 LPA, and the average package of my course is 5-6 LPA only, not more than that. Top recruiting companies for my course are TCS, Analyze Infotech, Shri Balaji Infotech, etc. The percent of students who got internships from my course is not more because it is not mandatory for everyone and the students completing their degree and pursue some new courses like MBA or MCA. Top roles offered in my course are that if the student is excellent in study then he/she should be made a member of the student placement committee or he/she should be awarded more grace marks and make him/her a student guide of juniors.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available for my course/department are neat and clean, star-wise classrooms equipped with a Smart TV or projector, Wi-Fi which you can connect all over the campus and only you can access YouTube, not more than that, and the limit is also there which is 500 MB and then you can connect a different student with a different roll number. The labs are also well-conditioned and all the systems are running continuously from 9 AM to 4:25 PM. The library is also there in which all types of books and magazines are kept according to your choice for 1 week and if you have not completed your study in 1 week then you can re-issue for 1 week.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable also. The faculty provides the notes, takes lectures regularly, shares tutorial sheets on a weekly basis, and takes tutorial classes in a week. Yes, the course curriculum is relevant and courses are interconnected to each other like if the student got placement in tech, or financing companies so he/she can do the job in an excellent manner. The syllabus is a little bit tough, otherwise not. If the person can study on a regular basis then he/she can crack the exam of Lucknow University or the Pre-end semester of the college or the quizzes conducted weekly. The pass percentage is 40% in the End exam and in college, there is no percentage to pass.
Other: I have chosen this course because I had not completed my schooling with the Science/Math stream that is why I took part in this course, otherwise, I would take B.Tech rather than BCA. The best thing about my course is that you are studying at the B.Tech level and the fee is also low as compared to a B.Tech degree. The events which are organized in my college are Annual function, sports day, and many more like hackathons and Robo-Wars, etc.

    College is good for study.
Placements: 65% of students are placed in our course. The top recruiting companies are Tata, TCS, Cognizant and Infosys. The top roles are software engineers and web developers. The highest package offered is 14 LPA, lthe owest is 3 LPA and the average is 7 LPA.
Infrastructure: Two-seater and three-seater rooms are available in the hostel. The quality of the food is good. The mess is neat and clean. The warden is also good. Medical facilities are available in the hostel. A health care center is also made on the campus. Fests, Sports and games are held.
Faculty: The teachers were wonderful! They were not only well-qualified but also deeply knowledgeable, making complex topics feel simple and engaging. Semester exams are not difficult because teachers hold tests every week so it is easy to get good marks in the semester exam and. 75% attendance is compulsory.
Other: I choose this course because it is cheap and easy to prepare it and we can learn about the computer system.

SRMCEM College Reality You Should Know!
Placements: I chose this course because I am highly interested in programming and the tech sector. The faculty here is also good; they guide you from making notes to giving exams. The department has 7-8 faculty members, and there are 60-65 students per semester. The teaching method is adapted to how well students understand the topics. Semester exams occur twice a year, once in December and once in May. If you study, the exams are easy to pass. There is also an internal assessment system, so you need to work hard on college assessments as well. The placement is average for a UPTAC college affiliated with AKTU, providing an average CTC of 3 LPA. They offer pre-placement training and internships for industrial knowledge. The highest package this session was 9 LPA, and it is expected to increase in the future.
Infrastructure: The college has many facilities, including a computer center, a library, a mess, hostels, a gymnasium, a conference room, seminar halls, a medical facility, and a meditation center. The computer center is connected via LAN and is available 24/7, with network speeds up to 200 Mbps. There are 17 libraries on campus, including two branch libraries, thirteen departmental libraries, and two hostel libraries. The library is open from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 7 pm and has a broad collection of books on various subjects. Other facilities include a Bank of India on campus for banking needs, common rooms for assignment work, and a convenient Xerox facility. The canteen is open late into the night, offering refreshing food and beverages. The on-campus gym is well-equipped with treadmills, stationary bikes, suspension trainers, stretching machines, and weights for strength training. There is also a weight and fitness trainer and an aerobics trainer at the gym.
Faculty: The faculty is highly qualified and interacts with students in a friendly manner. Some faculty members are strict, but they possess deep knowledge of their subjects. You can approach them with questions on various topics, and they will help you.
Other: Many events, such as Abhivyakti, Gantavya, and Spardha, are conducted annually on campus. The college has several student-driven clubs, a large air-conditioned library with computer systems, spacious classrooms with big benches, and many sports teams. Social media accounts for clubs are managed by students. Scholarships are provided by the UP government, offering financial support, and there are campus employment opportunities. On-campus placements offer an average CTC of 3 LPA.

    Very good for studies.
Placements: Almost 50 to 60 percent students get placed in my course. -the highest package in my course is 9 Lacs per annum and the lowest is 3 Lacs per annum. -wipro, tcs, adani these are the top recruiting companies for my course. -10 to 20 percent of students get internship from my course on their own it has nothing to do with college.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good for my course whether you talk about Wi-Fi or labs or classroom. Facilities in hostel is the worst and quality of food either you talk about mess or canteen both are the worst, medical facilities are alright, in terms of sports and games they don't focus on that.
Faculty: The teachers are always helpful and they are well qualified too and knowledgeable also and their teaching techniques are also good. The course is relevant and makes us industry ready. They are not that much difficult if you have studied even before exam night you can pass them.40 is passing percentage.

Value for money, best in competition.
Placements: Around 30% of students were placed. The highest package was 5 LPA, the lowest 1.5 LPA, and the average 2.5 LPA. Companies like TCS, Wipro, and British Telecom visited, with 50% placed in Capgemini and EY. Roles offered included Consultant, Analyst, and Automation Tester.
Infrastructure: No air conditioned for students in the classrooms. Becomes unbearable in the summers just like every other college with no ACs. The hostel is old. The food was good. Timely meals. Clean airy rooms with old stone flooring. Multiple washrooms on one floor.
Faculty: The teachers teach good. They pay attention to the students. The discipline of the college makes it different than the rest. They guide with the placements. Pay attention to every student. Good teachers overall! I got placed in TCS at 2 LPA. The teachers were very supportive.
Other: I completed a three-year BCA course here. The college was fine overall, with a uniform (casuals on Wednesdays), 2 events per semester, and 1 extracurricular activity yearly. Weekly tests leave little free time. Above-average students can secure entry-level jobs. It? S the best option in its range, better than competitors.
