In Sri Venkateswara College, the whole campus environment is just like heaven.
Placements: Our college provides average placements. The average salary package offered in the marketing field is 3 LPA. The placement cell keeps on sending emails of placements even after the college is over, so it is a good thing. They provide opportunities even after the completion of college.
Infrastructure: The library of this college is good and they issue books to students for free.
Faculty: Faculty members are good enough but a few of them are not well-trained. They are unable to teach students properly and handle the class and students properly. We have a simple exam pattern. There are 2 external exams every year each semester. External exams are held 6 times in 3 years according to the semester. Exams are conducted for 75 marks. Our college gives 55 marks for internal exams by assessing our performance per semester. Internal exams are conducted for 25 marks each semester. Sri Venkateswara College is most weirdest College I found. It does not provide knowledge. They just ask about the attendance. Most of the students come to the college for attendance only.

Satisfied, and life at SVCE is pretty easy and good.
Placements: Passing out batch: 2025. The highest package is 21 LPA (only one got placed), the lowest package is 3.5 LPA. Top recruiter is KLA. Bulk recruiters are Accenture, Cognizant, Infosys, etc. The roles offered are software engineer, data analyst, machine learning, etc.
Infrastructure: There is Wi-Fi access inside the campus, and we need to fill a form in the 1st year of college. Classrooms and the library are well-maintained. The food at the canteen is good, but there aren't many varieties. There is also a food court where you can get food like noodles and fried rice.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful in the CSE department and are also friendly. The course curriculum has been changed for junior batches, and it is good. There will be 3 CAT exams and 3 assignments for each subject in a semester. The difficulty level is moderate.
Other: A symposium will be conducted every year.

Average teaching facilities but strong placement opportunities.
Placements: Placement percentage is 70%. The highest package is 21 LPA, the lowest package is 1.5 LPA, and the average package is 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies include TCS, Accenture, Wipro, and Zoho. The internship percentage is 25% from Zoho and Bounteous. Top roles offered are Software Developer and Associate Software Developer.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi coverage is poor. Labs have average facilities with basic equipment. Classrooms are simple. The library has a decent collection of books. The hostel is basic, with the worst food. Medical facilities provide basic services that could be improved. Sports and games are limited, except for cricket.
Faculty: Some teachers are qualified, but not all. The overall teaching quality is average. The curriculum is not highly relevant to industry standards. Exam difficulty is moderate, with 60% difficulty. A passing percentage of 50% is required to pass the exam.
Other: The reason for choosing CSE is my interest in the subject. The best aspect is placement opportunities. There are occasional events and fests. Scholarships are merit-based only.

Good college to complete your engineering course.
Placements: My department has an 80% placement rate. AGS Healthcare and Biocon are core companies that hire from my course, and Wipro, Tata Consultancy, and Infosys are top recruiters for IT positions. The highest salary offered for my course is 8 LPA, the lowest is 2.5 LPA, and the average salary is 3-4 LPA. All students in my course received internships, and the companies that hired interns were Aavin, Cancer Research Center, and IIT.
Infrastructure: My college infrastructure is good. Classrooms have projectors, and the college provides full WiFi facilities. The library is very high class, with over 100,000 books. The library has its own app that lets students check out books and see when they are due. My college has very high-tech labs, especially in my department, biotechnology. The hostel rooms and campus are great, but the food is not that great. The college has a lot of sports and games, with a special emphasis on cricket.
Faculty: The faculty are highly knowledgeable and very friendly, and the teaching is superb. My teachers not only provide academic knowledge but also general knowledge and ideas for higher studies. Once a year, we have placement training. The curriculum is relevant to my course, and there are many ways for students to prepare for industry readiness, such as internships, curriculum, and mini projects. The semester question papers are easy to pass, but it is difficult to score high marks. The pass percentage is above 95%.

A great campus amidst woods with great placements and infrastructure.
Placements: Well, more than 80% of the students who sought placement have been placed. And the highest so far is 12 LPA. Some students were offered the role of team leaders and assistant scientist in R&D. In my course, many have opted for higher studies, so the students usually don’t need placements, but the other departments have had the said percentage of placements.
Infrastructure: The network seems to be a little problematic because of the high-voltage electricity cables across the campus, and we have a separate WiFi for our students. The food quality is a bit poor in the hostels, but the canteen food is great. And we have good medical facilities and a big ground for sports and games.
Faculty: They mentor us throughout the course and other activities. Yes, the curriculum is relevant, and we have frequent industrial visits, one per semester. The sem exams are quite hard for the late bloomers, but we have a pass percentage of 89% and above.
Other: Well, there are a minimum of festivals and events, but our college shows great importance in technical events and hackathons each year, conducted by various departments and clubs.

Good infrastructure but poor hostel facilities; average placement but friendly campus .
Placements: The placement at SVCE, Sriperumbudur, is quite good compared to other colleges in Chennai because of the branding of SVCE. Every year, almost all the students get placed but due to the global recession, in 2023 and 2024, there are students who are yet to be placed. The highest package stands at 26 LPA, and the lowest package is 2 LPA. The average package offered will stand at 4 LPA in 2023. Internships are offered to outstanding students only and average students are supposed to find them themselves. Cognizant is the leading recruiter.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure in SVCE is one of the best in the state. Almost all labs are well-equipped but some can be quite old and lack new equipment. If you compare them with other colleges, then SVCE labs are quite good. The hostel might be the worst part, as the food, the quality of the rooms, and the and the hygiene are below average. Since non-vegetarian foods aren't allowed, the fee they charge for hostels is too high for vegetarian food with poor quality and taste, along with old rooms and beds. There is a medical center where first aid and resting beds are available, which is a good thing and an ambulance will be available for transportation to the local hospital. Sports are well encouraged in SVCE, especially cricket. The ground is well maintained and we have a state-level team that has won several trophies.
Faculty: Since old facilities have retired or resigned, the quality of faculty members has degraded over the last few years. Still, there are enough experience facilities but it used to have more and more good facilities. The student-teacher ratio is around 20:1 (1 faculty will be in charge of 20 students). There are enough facilities at the college. The curriculum is updated and good compared to the Anna University curriculum but it needs a lot of improvement to meet international standards. It makes industry ready only to an extent but we have to learn so many things ourselves, as there are a lot of things they don't teach. The semester exams will have a weight of 60% and the remaining 40% will be calculated from internal exams, which include 3 informative assessment tests and assignments. The pass percentage averages around 65%.
Other: I chose this course because of the wide opportunities in the software and hardware fields. It allows you to learn programming as well as electronics. The method of testing students should be changed as cheating prevails. Lots and lots of events are conducted, as that is what SVCE is known for. The campus is not so crowded as it spans over 100 acres, but we have to have a little to reach the bus bay to the classrooms, canteen and department. Lots of scholarships are offered to deserving students and extracurricular activities like clubs are available, which enhance social skills.
