Q:   Is it worth pursuing BCA at St. Xavier's College of Management and Technology?

    A:
    {Source: BCA students & alumni}

Here's a summary of the key points:

    * Placement Scenario: Around 20-30% of students get placed, with maximum packages ranging from 2-3 Lacs per annum. Local companies like Wipro, Infosys, and smaller firms offer jobs to students. Some students even secure internships, mostly in local companies.
    * Teaching Quality: Teachers are generally helpful and knowledgeable, making an effort to teach complex concepts simply. However, some students feel that the syllabus could use updating.
    * Infrastructure: Although there's no WiFi facility, classrooms are decent, and the college has a sufficient number of labs for management and technology students. Library resources are limited, and the canteen serves mainly fast food.
    * Extracurricular Activities: Events, festivals, scholarships, and sports are organized regularly. Students can participate in activities like cricket, badminton, football, and basketball.
    * Industry Readiness: While the college claims that most students become industry-ready after completing the course, some students express concerns about the relevance of the syllabus.

Considering these factors, it seems that pursuing BCA at St. Xavier's College of Management and Technology might be suitable for those who:

    * Are interested in gaining practical experience and building connections within the industry.
    * Value a supportive academic environment with helpful teachers.
    * Are flexible regarding the lack of modern amenities, such as WiFi.
    * Are willing to supplement their learning with self-study and online resources.

However, potential students should weigh these advantages against the limitations mentioned earlier before making an informed decision.

This is the best college in Patna.
Placements: Minimum 20-30 percent students are placed in the college. Maximum package is 2-3 Lacs per annum. The top companies are Wipro, Infosys and local companies. 10-20 percent students got internship from the college in local companies. Programming languages like python, c, c+, Java and It.
Infrastructure: There is no Wi-Fi for student in the college. Maximum 6-7 labs are available for management student and technical student. The Classrooms are quite good. There is small library in the college. There is no hostel in college. A small canteen is available, where you got only fast food. Medical facilities are available in the college. Yes, you can also participate in sports and games like cricket, badminton, football and basketball.
Faculty: Yes, teachers more helpful than you think. And they are well qualified and knowledgeable. Yes, the curriculum is relevant for students. After the completing the course, 90 percent students are industry ready. There are two types of examination in the college, internal and external and almost 80-90 percent students qualified the exam.
Other: I chose this course because I love to do coding. BCA is the best course in this college because facilities of BCA are to good. They can remove management subject from BCA first semester course like PMO. It has an old curriculum, poor management, and lack of knowledgeable faculty.
Placements: It is a college that provides undergraduate degrees. You can only expect a package of 2.5 to 3 LPA, unless you are a genius. Big companies don't recruit students from here for IT, but for courses like BBA and BMC, some local companies of Patna will come to hire you. The percentage of on-campus placements is 30% only.
Infrastructure: The college doesn't provide a hostel for boys, and there is no hostel inside the campus. Labs and library are quite good compared to other colleges in the city. The canteen food is not much good. Medical facilities are provided by the college if needed. Sports facilities are good, like basketball, cricket and football. A huge playground is available. Students from other colleges also come here for fests.
Faculty: The teachers are good, and they have less knowledge of teaching, but they give their 100% into teaching the subject. If the student is willing to learn, no doubt, the teachers will give their efforts. The syllabus is 8 years old, and so, I can't say if it makes us industry-ready. You have to prepare on your own. Internal assessment is tougher than external assessment, and there is no chance you can cheat. Rules are very strict.
Other: I am interested in computer science, and I chose this degree to gain skills. It is a great option if you aren't getting a good college for B.Tech. Project-based learning, updation of the syllabus, and some good faculty are needed in this college. Everything is good compared to other colleges of Patna except IITs and NITs.

There is a really good environment to study and grow.
Placements: The salary provided to BCA students is Rs. 15,000 per month in the beginning. There is also a placement cell which helps students to prepare in various ways for the interview, which is conducted at the time of placements and deal with ease and comfort. It also provides guidance to achieve the goals.
Infrastructure: There is a great infrastructure here, and hostels are also available nearby. Our college supports students in sports of every type. Hospitals and a drug store are available at a walkable distance near the market area. The police station is also available nearby. Our college also provides opportunities to students to grow in almost every possible way along with studies.
Faculty: The teachers here are helpful and knowledgeable. They try the easiest way to teach so that every student can understand. There is also a consultant to help with the guidance and makes students free from stress. The semester exams are of average level.

It is a good college with excellent faculty members.
Placements: Placements in this college are average. Last year, 70% of the students got placed with an average salary package of 5 LPA. The highest salary package offered is around 7 LPA. Most of the students of BCA prefer to go for masters. Apart from the BCA department, other departments are also very good with qualified professors.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of this college is very good. There are multiple lecture halls, and they are equipped with a projector. There are five labs for the BCA department, which are well-equipped. There is a BMC studio for BMC students. The whole campus is lush green, which gives an immense feeling.
Faculty: The college is affiliated with Aryabhatta Knowledge University, so it follows its course curriculum. In BCA, the course is designed specially as per the job demand. In the entire course, 5-6 programming languages are taught, and a certificate course is provided for courses that are not in the syllabus designed by the university.
Other: The best thing about this college is its football team. Xavier's football team is the best in Patna.

Other: I have chosen this course because I have a keen interest in computers and all about it. I wanted to do B.Tech in CS, but due to some lack of financial condition, I have chosen this BCA as it gives me precise knowledge about computer. Our college organises and does various things, including extracurricular activities, etc. Our college is very helpful and supportive of students.
