Q:   How does the placement cell for B.Com at University Commerce College assist students in getting placed?

A:
{Source: B.Com students & alumni}

Limited Placement Cell Support

Unfortunately, the University Commerce College does not have a dedicated placement cell to assist students in getting placed. According to several students' reviews, "there is no placement cell" and students "have to try themselves" to secure a job. While the college may provide guidance on resume-building and interview preparation, students ultimately rely on their own efforts to land a job after graduation.

Occasional Company Visits

However, some students reported that local companies occasionally visit the college campus for recruitment drives. For instance, one reviewer mentioned that while "only locals [companies] come for placements," they offer a decent salary range (Rs. 5,000 - Rs. 40,000 per month) to successful candidates. Another reviewer noted that top-tier companies like Big4 firms may also recruit students, albeit in limited numbers.

Self-Motivation Required

Given the limited involvement of the placement cell, students seeking employment must be proactive and self-motivated. As one reviewer emphasized, "you will learn the skills on how to get a perfect job." This means that students will need to develop their own networking strategies, update their resumes, and prepare thoroughly for interviews to increase their chances of securing a job.

By highlighting these key points, we can see that the placement cell for B.Com at University Commerce College plays a relatively minimal role in assisting students in getting placed. Instead, students must take initiative and rely on their own abilities to secure a job after graduation.

Overall, this college has a lot of reputation because of the faculty.
Placements: About 75% of students are placed. The highest package would be 12 LPA, and the lowest would be 2 LPA. Top recruiting companies are CA firms, Accenture, etc. 60 to 80% of students got internships in big and medium firms like Accenture, Motions, JJK, etc. Main roles offered are accountants, auditors, etc.
Infrastructure: As a government college and university, the facilities are good but not great; on the other hand, the infrastructure of the college is not so eye-satisfying. Old types of classes, labs, and libraries are all good to do studies because of the staff and the faculty of the college.
Faculty: The teachers are very qualified, very knowledgeable, and very helpful as well. They all are very experienced in their respective fields. Very simple teaching quality they provide, which is very helpful for students. Yes, the curriculum is so much more relevant, and it makes students industry-ready. The annual and semester exams are tough and standardized. The pass percentage is almost 70%.

Absolutely good infrastructure and facilities provided.
Placements: Placements at Commerce College are a concern due to the low placement ratio. While the college organizes placement drives, the number of recruiters and job opportunities remains limited. Most companies offer entry-level roles with modest salary packages, which do not meet the expectations of many students. Certain streams face fewer opportunities compared to others, further widening the gap.
Infrastructure: Commerce College boasts excellent infrastructure, creating a conducive environment for learning. Spacious classrooms are equipped with modern teaching aids, and the library offers an extensive collection of books, journals, and digital resources. Advanced computer labs with updated software provide hands-on learning opportunities. Facilities include seminar halls, a well-maintained cafeteria, sports areas, and Wi-Fi access across campus.
Faculty: Commerce College provides an average experience in terms of faculty, curriculum, and exams. While some faculty members are knowledgeable, teaching quality varies, with traditional methods dominating over interactive approaches. The course curriculum is comprehensive but outdated, lacking a focus on modern industry trends like digital marketing and data analytics. Students often need external courses to stay competitive. Exams are well-structured but emphasize theoretical knowledge over practical application, which limits real-world preparedness. To improve, the college needs an updated syllabus, better teaching methods, and a stronger focus on practical learning.

I was not satisfied as there were no placement policies, but the infrastructure & faculty were good.
Placements: No placement facilities were provided by the college. Since placements were not offered, there were no package offerings. No recruitment facilities were provided. No internship facility is provided. No placement policy is provided by the college; therefore, no roles are offered.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi access was not given to the students. Yes, there are labs available, and they are nice. Classrooms were also good. Yes, there is a library available for the students. And there are useful books available for students. Hostel facilities were fine. Also, the quality of food available was fine. Not sure about the medical facilities. Sports and games were supported by the college, and the equipment used was also provided for practice.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers in the college were really helpful, qualified, and very knowledgeable. And the teaching quality was also very good. Yes, the course curriculum is relevant, and it makes the students industry-ready to some extent. The difficulty level for the exams is average, and the pass percentage was 36%.
Other: The reason for choosing the course is just the interest in businesses; it provides the students with basic knowledge about business and economics. Improvements can be made; more practical knowledge about the business world should be provided in the course.

Commerce college is a college for timepass
Placements: I am currently a 2nd-year student, so I don't know much about placements. Based on past experiences of our seniors, there is no placement or internship support at the college. Last year, a package of 3-4 LPA was offered to students.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are basic, with wooden benches and blackboards that have chalk stains. Fans and lights don’t work, and the building seems quite old. There is no internet access for students, and network coverage is poor. The labs have basic equipment, but advanced tools are lacking, and even the basics don’t work sometimes. The college ground is big enough to play sports but is not maintained.
Faculty: The teachers here are mixed. Some are very kind, seem well-educated, and are always willing to assist, while others are ill-mannered and lack respect in their communication. The curriculum is somewhat relevant, except for Hindi as a compulsory subject. Semester exams are primarily based on a one-week series.
Other: I chose this college and course because I am pursuing CA and need more time for that. There are no events at the college, and they don’t offer any freshers' or farewell parties.

University Commerce College review.
Placements: Most of the students are placed through the campus, and the average package is around 10 lakhs per annum.
Infrastructure: The college management provided us with a better environment to learn. The classrooms are well furnished, the library is well equipped, and the study labs are well equipped. They also have an internship program and provide training with industrialists. The hostels are well maintained, and all the basic and necessary facilities are provided.
Faculty: The examination will be held on a yearly basis. The difficulty level is above average, or moderate. The teachers are very well qualified, having graduated from top colleges in the country. They are a source of knowledge and very helpful to the students.
Other: I thought that almost everything at this college was very good. However, I do think that the management needs to improve the food in the mess.

I was not satisfied as there were no placement policies.
Placements: Good packages are offered to the students who pass out from this college. The college works on individual personality development, which supports in cracking interviews and being confident with politeness. After graduation, students go off-campus and find jobs according to their stability.
Infrastructure: Our college has a very good library and a hostel to study and live in. There are plenty of hi-tech labs, an expensive sports complex, numerous amenities, including a salon, always functioning medical rooms, comfortable hostels, a multi-cuisine cafeteria, eating joints, laundry, and even ice-cream parlours.
Faculty: Semester exams are not so difficult, and it depends upon how you prepare for that. Teachers at the college are highly qualified professionals, and they teach their subjects with satisfaction. Teachers here are good, even though many students are regular students but do not attend college regularly.
Other: Events, fests, campus crowd, activities, connectivity, campus surroundings, and scholarships are available in our college.
