Q:   Is it worth pursuing BBA at Vanijya Mahavidyalaya?

    A:
    {Source: BBA students & alumni}

Here's a summary of the key points:

    Pros:
    * Experienced and qualified faculty members who are knowledgeable in their fields
    * Relevant and updated curriculum that prepares students for industries
    * Good classroom infrastructure and facilities, including Wi-Fi connectivity
    * Availability of hostels and mess facilities for students
    * Decent placement records, although not excellent

    Cons:
    * Poor infrastructure, including old buildings, broken furniture, and inadequate library resources
    * Limited industry exposure and field visits, making students unprepared for the industry
    * Lack of internship opportunities and tie-ups with corporations
    * Average salary packages and limited career growth prospects
    * Unpleasant living conditions in hostels
    * Limited recreational facilities and activities on campus

Verdict: While Vanijya Mahavidyalaya may have some strong points, such as experienced faculty and relevant curriculum, the cons outweigh the pros. The college's poor infrastructure, limited industry exposure, and lack of internship opportunities might hinder students' growth and employability. Therefore, it may not be entirely worth pursuing BBA at Vanijya Mahavidyalaya unless significant improvements are made in these areas.

Well, the life here makes it easy to understand the outer world and makes us ready to face the world
Placements: 60% of students are well-placed in companies. Companies like TCS, Wipro, and others come here for campus placement. An internship here is a bit of an issue for students. Companies offer good management roles to students who have brilliant communication skills.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is not very good, but the college makes sure that students do not face any issues related to their studies. Smart class projectors are available for presentations and easy learning for students. Some building issues are there but will be sorted out by the end of the year.
Faculty: The teacher and professors (faculty members) are very knowledgeable personnel who make sure that students understand the topics and concepts that are explained to each of them. Attendance is compulsory for the students (75%) to appear in the exam; otherwise, they won't be allowed to appear.

It is a very good college with good facilities.
Placements: Almost 70% of students got placed in our course with a good salary of Rs. 35,000 per month. The average salary offered is Rs. 40,000 per month. Wipro is the top recruiting company. The internship percentage is 75%. Top roles offered are HR and data analyst.
Infrastructure: Our college provides a separate common room for girls and boys. The campus is very beautiful.
Faculty: Teachers are very supportive and helpful. They have very good teaching experience. They are always ready to help every student. They clear all doubts. The course curriculum is relevant and updated.
Other: I chose this course to become an entrepreneur. Our college should conduct offline classes.

It is a great college for BBA students with reasonable fee, they get great exposure and learning.
Placements: Placements in BBA are not very high, it is average as compared to other top management colleges in India. Maximum students get placed who are sitting in placements drive. The highest salary package offered is 4.5 LPA. The median salary package offered ranges from 2 LPA - 2.5 LPA. The average salary package offered varies between 1.8 LPA - 2.25 LPA. The top recruiting companies are TCS, Wipro, Ujjivan Small Finance Bank, Axis Bank, and many more private banks. TCS has its 100 days internships learning program, and Ujjivan Small Finance Bank also has its fieldwork internships program.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is not good as compared Patna University's other colleges but the location of this college is extremely top-notch because it is on the outskirts of river Ganga. Our college is extremely great. Our college contains a library where students can borrow different types of books. This college also has a seminar hall for extra curriculum activities. Our college is extremely good it is far better than our college campus. In our college hostel, every facility is available for students such as playground, activity room, mess, etc.
Faculty: Faculty members are very experienced and highly qualified. Many of them are Ph.D. holders. Their teaching ability is good, and their interaction with students is also great. Our college semester exam is moderately difficult, students have to cover all the topics wisely then only they have a chance to score good marks in exams. In the first-semester pass percentage is not good somewhere around 60-70 % of students only can pass the first semester.
Other: I want to do business so that's why I took BBA in higher studies because of my exposure to business and commerce background. I want to wish our college start organising business fest because many management colleges organise business fest early, because of this students get great exposure. Our university organises cultural events yearly. There are also some scholarships that students can apply such as PMS, NSP, etc.

I'm absolutely dissatisfied with the placements in our college.
Placements: Our college has the worst placement cell I've ever seen. Almost no student gets placed in our college, even if they are college toppers. There is no campus selection, but after completion of the course, you can get a job by applying offline. The top company that came to recruitment in our college placements is ICICI Bank. Around 10% of students get internships. The top role that was offered for our course is Marketing Associate.
Infrastructure: Our college has decent classrooms, good faculty, and a library that is below average. There is Wi-Fi available in our college. There are separate hostels for boys and girls. There is a canteen on the college campus and they also have a central dispensary for college students. And there are regular events for sports and games.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are not very helpful but qualified because they get placed in college only after doing their PhD and clearing the NET JRF exam. The teaching quality is good, but the teaching method is very old. Our curriculum is relevant and prepares students for careers in the industry. The exams are not too hard, they are of a moderate level. The passing percentage is a minimum of 45%.
Other: At first I was confused about choosing between B.Com and BBA, but then I chose BBA because it is a professional course and you'll learn a lot more practical skills than in B.Com, which will help you in the future when getting jobs. Placement should be improved in our college because no company visits our college for campus selection. There are a lot of events, seniors are a bit dangerous, extracurriculars are alright, and there are scholarships too.

The college is affordable but has a poor infrastructure.
Placements: No companies come to the college for placements. Internship opportunities are not provided. Students have to find one for themselves. Being a first year student, I can't comment more on this as I hadn't seen much of it by now.
Infrastructure: No Wi-Fi is provided. A lot of students are accommodated in a single classroom which restricts the overall study environment. The condition of classrooms is not good. Labs are not needed for my course yet, so I can't comment on that. There is no canteen. As I don't live in the hostel, I don't know about its condition.
Faculty: The faculty members are good. The teachers are good at giving concepts, but due to the lack of technological availability in the college, it is very hard to hear them as the size of classrooms is huge along with the non-availability of mic and speakers for teachers, due to which it is difficult to hear them if you are not sitting in the front three benches. The supporting staff are not supportive. Exams are conducted once a year.
Other: Seniors are very kind and supportive, but there is no campus life except for some groups. Very few extracurricular activities are conducted. There are not many activities except revolting against the college system.

This college is good in terms of education.
Placements: This college did not provide placements facility so packages are also not offered by the companies. There are no internships program in this college. It is one of the best colleges in PU as the class runs regularly.
Infrastructure: In this college, Wi-Fi service is available under the Bihar Government, and a free Wi-Fi scheme is provided. The classrooms are good but lack modern infrastructures like projector, modern benches, etc. There is an insufficient books available in the library. So, students will have some difficulties.
Faculty: All the teachers are qualified, helpful, and knowledgeable. The curriculum is good and the exams are not tough. It becomes easy to pass semester exams, because students will get 30% of internal marks based on their discipline, attendance, speaking skills, presentation skills, and according to marks obtained on internal exams.
Other: It is very interesting and there is a very vast scope in this course. VMV lacks modern infrastructure, but no need to worry Government of Bihar has already approved land for the construction of a new college building and other basic infrastructures. Events, fests, and other functions are held in this college.
