Established in 1994, IIT Guwahati is the sixth oldest member of the 23 existing IITs. The institute currently has 11 departments, including the Department of Design (DoD). It also has five inter-disciplinary academic centers.

Criterion 3 – Qualifying examination: The candidate should have passed all subjects in the qualifying examination (Class XII or
equivalent) in 2024 or should be appearing for the qualifying examination for the first time in 2025. Students from ALL STREAMS (Science, Commerce, and Arts & Humanities) are eligible.
Those who appeared for the first time in their qualifying examination (Class XII) in 2023 or earlier are NOT eligible to appear in UCEED 2025.

IIIT Guwahati M.Des Fee Structure - UCEED 2025
The fee structure for the B.Des program at IIT Guwahati has many components, like one-time fees, one-time deposits, semester fees, and admission fees.
Q: Who can participate in UCEED counseling?
The counseling process for UCEED 2025 will be conducted by IIT Bombay as a Joint Seat Allocation process.
To participate in UCEED 2024 counseling, the candidate must have qualfied in the UCEED 2025 entrance exam and been allocated a merit rank.
This means, if the candidate has failed to qualify Part A exam, he or she will not be allocated a merit rank, and therefore are not eligible to take part in the counseling process.
Note that the seat allotment for the B.Des program is done in five rounds.
Q: Are CEED 2025 eligibility criteria the same as those required by the participating colleges?
The candidate may note that IIT Bombay is only responsible for conducting the CEED 2025 exam. Unlike UCEED 2025, it will not conduct any Joint Seat Allotment.
This means the eligibility criteria prescribed by IIT Bombay is limited to appearing in the CEED 2025 exam.
Further, the participating institutes of CEED 2025 will individually determine the eligibility criteria for the M.Des courses. The eligibility criteria will be uploaded on the admission portals of these institutes.

It is mandatory for candidates to get shortlisted to be included in the merit rank. Note that only such candidates who qualify Part A will get shortlisted.
IIT Bombay will release the cut-off marks for Part A around the 2nd week of February 2025. All candidates who meet the cut-off criteria will get shortlisted.
Further, only shortlisted candidates will be eligible to participate in the UCEED 2025 couneling process.

The candidate may note that the eligibility criteria for appearing in the CEED 2025 exam and the eligibility criteria for admission to the M.Des programme are not the same.
The eligibility criteria for appearing in the CEED 2025 exam will be determined by IIT Bombay. The institute will verify all the documents submitted the candidate during the application process.
Meanwhile, the participating colleges will also determine the eligibility of the candidate during the counseling process, which will be conducted institute-wise. The candidate will have to furnish original documents, which will be used to determined the veracity of information furnished by the candidate in the CEED 2025 application form.

To appear in the CEED 2025 exam, the candidate must have passed a degree, Diploma, or postgraduate degree exam of minimum three years. There is no limit on the upper age limit or number of attempts for appearing in CEED. The eligibility criteria that candidates need to meet for appearing in the CEED have been explained below. Qualifying exam - The candidate must have completed a degree, Diploma, or postgraduate programme of a minimum of THREE years (after 10+2). Or, Appearing for the final exam of such a programme by July 2025 or, Must have passed the GD Arts Diploma programme (10+5) level by July 2024. Age limit - No upper age limit. Number of Attempts - The CEED exam can be attempted any number of times. It is incumbent on the candidate to carefully go through the eligibility criteria before filling out the CEED application form. It is because if the candidate doesn't meet any of the criteria, then he or she can be disqualified at any stage of the admission process.
