NID Fee Structure 2024-25: The National Institute of Design (NID) will release the fee structure for the academic session 2025-26 on its admission portal. The fee structure will be released for the B.Des and M.Des programs semester-wise and include various components like tuition fees, insurance fees, alumni fees, and student activity fees. The fee details will not include the Mess fee; it will be notified at the start of the academic session. Some fees, like the security deposit, are refundable, while others like the tuition fees are non-refundable. Admission to the NIDs will be through the NID DAT 2025 entrance exam. NID DAT 2025 (Prelims) exam was held on January 5, 2025. Candidates who get shortlisted have to next appear in DAT Mains. The final result of NID DAT 2025 will be prepared by giving weightage to DAT Prelims and DAT Mains.

Q: What is the exam pattern for the NIFT CAT paper?
Candidates seeking admission to the B. Des and M.Des course also need to take the Creative Ability Test CAT written exam, in addition to the GAT. The CAT exam will be conducted in an offline, pen-pencil mode. CAT will be a drawing-based exam of 3 hours duration. The CAT will evaluate various skills of the candidate including Intuition skill, power of observation, innovation in the development of a concept as well as design ability. Further, it will examine the creative as well as innovative use of color and illustration skills of aspirants. It is mandatory for B. Des and M.Des candidates to appear in the CAT paper, or else they will not be invited for the Situation Test.
Q: When will the NID DAT exam analysis be released?
The exam analysis for NID DAT 2025 exam will be released soon after the exam is over.
Note that the NID DAT Prelims 2025 exam will be conducted tentatively in December 2024.

The fee structure of NID, Bengaluru is expensive as compared to the other design Institutes. The fee ranges between 1,80,000- 2,00,000 for the 1st semester in undergraduate course. The GAT paper for the M.Des programme will be of 120 minutes and will include 120 multiple-choice questions. Questions will be asked from the following topics - Communication Ability, English Comprehension, Quantitative Ability, Analytical Ability, and GK and Current Affairs. The Communication Ability, English Comprehension, Quantitative Ability sections will each include 30 questions, whereas Analytical Ability will have 20 questions, and GK and Current Affairs will have 15 questions. The candidate must strictly follow the official exam pattern only, as questions will be asked as the given syllabus.

The question paper will include both subjective and objective-type questions. The paper will be for 100 marks. Candidate who qualify in DAT Prelims have to next appear in DAT Mains.
